  • Patent number: 9369187
Abstract: Technologies described herein are directed to switching between antennas in response to a change in an isolation value identified using a neutralization line. A device may include a first set of antennas including a first antenna, a second antenna, a neutralization line coupled between the first antenna and the second antenna, and a controller. The controller is coupled to the neutralization line. The controller determines a first isolation value between the first antenna and the second antenna using the neutralization line, determines a change in isolation value between the first antenna and the second antenna to a second isolation value, determines that the second isolation value exceeds a threshold, and switches from using the first set of antennas to using a second set of antennas.

  • Publication number: 20160164702
Abstract: An approach is provided for increasing transmission throughput rates for a source signal transmitted over a wireless channel, applying faster-than-Nyquist (FTN) signaling rates combined with tight frequency roll-off to the a source signal. A receiver is provided that compensates for ISI effects induced by the FTN rate and tight frequency roll-off, where the complexity of the receiver grows only linearly with the interference memory. The receiver comprises an equalizer configured to compensate for the ISI effects, and a decoder configured to decode the output of the equalizer to determine and regenerate the source signal. The receiver processes the received signal via a plurality of processing iterations. For one processing iteration, the decoder generates a set of a posteriori soft information based on the output of the equalizer, and the equalizer uses the a posteriori soft information as a priori soft information for a subsequent processing iteration.

Abstract: A method and system for enabling the display of user selected content-portions of internet documents that have been selected by users of a content-portion selection service are disclosed. Accordingly, a content-portion selection service includes a web portal with a web page providing users with a snippet of code, which, when inserted into an internet document, causes the internet document to display selected content-portions from the content-portion selection service. The snippet of code can be configured to query the content-portion selection service for selected content-portions that were made by certain users, or, selection content-portions made on documents from certain domains, and so forth. The code associated with the user interface object displaying the selected content-portions can be configured to periodically query the content-portion selection service to retrieve up-to-date content-portion selections, thereby dynamically changing the content-portions appearing on a web page or internet document.

  • Publication number: 20160163397
Abstract: A memory system or flash card may monitor the health of memory and the user data stored by detecting and storing a number of bits in error for each block. This detection can be used to determine where user data should be programmed and which blocks should be cycled. The erratic bits are detected after a programming and the listing for each block is updated. When the erratic bits exceed a threshold for a particular block, that block may be cycled or retired.

  • Patent number: 9362284
Abstract: A range of lowest, low and regular threshold voltages are provided to three p-type devices and three n-type devices co-fabricated on a same substrate. For the p-type devices, the range is achieved for the lowest using an additional thick layer of a p-type work function metal in a gate structure and oxidizing it, the low Vt is achieved with the thick p-type work function metal alone, and the regular Vt is achieved with a thinner layer of the p-type work function metal. For the n-type devices, the lowest Vt is achieved by implanting tantalum nitride with arsenic, argon, silicon or germanium and not adding any of the additional p-type work function metal in the gate structure, the low Vt is achieved by not adding the additional p-type work function metal, and the regular Vt is achieved with a thinnest layer of the p-type work function metal.

  • Publication number: 20160156430
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a fine-grained link adaptation mechanism that allows for link adaptation at a resource block granularity. To this end, the fine-grained link adaptation mechanism can determine the effective signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio for individual user equipment in a particular cell at the resource block granularity. This way, the transmitter can use the effective signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio to adapt the modulation and coding scheme at the resource block granularity. The fine-grained link adaptation mechanism can be introduced to a long term evolution (LTE) network without substantial redesign of the LTE network.

  • Patent number: 9355102
Abstract: Media data for a live event such as a horse race, associated real-time data, and contextually related asynchronous data are presented to an end user. A content delivery network distributes the media data and a server distributes the associated real-time data. A time synchronization module combines the media data with the associated real-time data based on a correspondence of temporal data and outputs an integrated data feed. A contextual relating module identifies asynchronous data stored by an asynchronous data storage as contextually relevant to the integrated data feed, outputs the contextually relevant asynchronous data, and records the integrated data feed and contextually relevant asynchronous data for playback as an integrated data combination. A client device executes an application for presenting to the end user the data included in the integrated data feed output by the time synchronization module along with contextually relevant asynchronous data output by the contextual relating module.

  • Patent number: 9357242
Abstract: A method and system for tracking of objects in a video is disclosed. The method of the present invention enables user to indicate a boundary-box to the identified object of interest in the broadcast video on television or any other communication media. The object indicted in the boundary-box is than tracked by the users connected in a social community network in the upcoming video frames of the broadcasted video. The tracked object is then tagged by the users in the social community network. Further, the present invention enables augmentation of the tracked object in the video by extracting additional information from the online service providers. The augmentation and tagging of the object generates metadata related to the object. The metadata generated is stored on a server to track the object in future based on the metadata related to the object.
