  • Publication number: 20150199573
Abstract: A method constructs a descriptor for an image of a scene, wherein the descriptor is associated with a vanishing point in the image by first quantizing an angular region around the vanishing point into a preset number of angular quantization bins, and a centroid of each angular quantization bin indicates a direction of the angular quantization bin. For each angular quantization bin, a sum of magnitudes of pixel gradients for pixels in the image at which a direction of the pixel gradient is aligned with the direction of the angular quantization bin is determined, wherein the steps are performed in a processor.

  • Publication number: 20150201451
Abstract: A controller controls access points (APs) in a network of APs. The controller causes the first AP to establish an Internet Protocol (IP) tunnel with a router connected with a wired network and over which data packets are routed between the wired network and a client device wirelessly connected to the first AP. The controller receives a roam indication that the client device is wirelessly connected with a second AP. In response to the indication, the controller instructs the first AP to maintain the IP tunnel with the router and instructs the second AP to establish an inter-AP tunnel with the first AP in order to route traffic between the wired network and the client device over both the IP tunnel and the inter-AP tunnel.

  • Publication number: 20150198992
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for managing operational modes of a processor. The apparatus may include the processor which may include a coprocessor, an instruction queue, and a monitoring circuit for detecting instructions for the coprocessor in the instruction queue. The monitoring circuit may detect when the instruction queue holds no instructions for the coprocessor. If the instruction queue holds no instructions for the coprocessor, the coprocessor may be placed into a mode in which the coprocessor consumes less power. The monitoring circuit may detect an instruction for the coprocessor in the instruction queue. In response to the instruction for the coprocessor, the coprocessor may be placed into a mode in which the coprocessor may execute the instruction.

  • Publication number: 20150195047
Abstract: By using reconfigurable antenna based pattern diversity, an optimal channel can be realized in order to maximize the distance between two subspaces, thereby increasing sum-rate. The inventors show the benefits of pattern reconfigurability using real-world channels, measured in a MIMO-OFDM interference network. The results are quantified with two different reconfigurable antenna architectures. An additional 47% gain in choral distance and 45% gain in sum capacity were achieved by exploiting pattern diversity with IA. Due to optimal channel selection, the performance of IA can also be improved in a low SNR regime.
