  • Publication number: 20130258940
Abstract: Implicit signalling method for bearer management in a communication network with transporting bearer resource request message of both the UE and RN via Base station to managing entity of RN within EPC, as a signalling message over uplink channel referred to as ‘Union of Resource Request (UR Request)’ message. The bearer resource response message referred to as ‘Implicit Admission Response (IA Response)’ from one of the management entity of UE or management entities of UE and RN within EPC are transported as a signalling message to Evolved Packet Edge (EPE) via Base station over the downlink channel. This manages bearer setup signalling as a single loop, by transportation of ‘UR Request’ signalling message and receiving one “IA Response” signalling message over uplink and downlink channels respectively. EPE is a conglomeration of network nodes made of UEs, RNs and all other network nodes that communicate over EPC via Base station.

  • Patent number: 8548098
Abstract: A circuit for recovering data from an incoming data stream according to one embodiment includes a capacitor and a substantially constant current source for charging the capacitor. A subcircuit generates a signal causing the capacitor to discharge upon detecting a first type of transition in the incoming data stream, the capacitor re-charging upon being at least partially discharged. A comparator compares a voltage on a node coupled to the capacitor to a reference voltage, the comparator outputting a first signal if the voltage on the node is higher than the reference voltage and outputting a second signal if the voltage on the node is lower than the reference voltage, the first signal being associated with a first logic value, the second signal being associated with a second logic value.

  • Publication number: 20130250810
Abstract: Systems and methods provide a discovery protocol allowing nodes that are interested in knowing a network topology to discover other nodes in the network topology. The discovery protocol includes two message types, topology discovery messages and topology query messages. A node issues topology discovery messages upon powering up, at periodic intervals, or upon detecting a change in network topology. The topology discovery messages are broadcast to all nodes on a network and identify the issuing node to the network. A topology query message is sent to a particular node and requests a response from the receiving node regarding the neighboring nodes of the receiving node. The querying node can use the response data to discover other nodes and to send the discovered nodes query messages such that the node can determine a network topology to a desired level of depth within the network.

  • Patent number: 8543608
Abstract: Information indicating a time of validity of content of a web page is maintained as meta data within the page itself. A content server, in response to receipt of a request for the web page, determines whether web page has expired. If the content is determined not to have expired, the content server forwards the web page to the requesting user without modification. However, if the content is determined to have expired, the content server adds a warning tag in the content section of the page specifying that the content has expired, and then forwards the page to the requesting user, thereby alert the user of the expiry. In addition, the content server may obtain an updated web page, which may then be provided in response to future requests for the web page.

  • Publication number: 20130246560
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for managing file distribution between publishing and subscribing devices are provided. At a transporter system, a publish request for publishing a version of the dataset is received from a publisher device, wherein the publish request has a predefined format that includes an identity of the dataset, an identity of the version of the dataset, and an identity of a location for the version of the dataset. The transporter system updates a registry to associate the dataset with the identity of the dataset, version, and location, and the transporter system automatically publishes the dataset to any subscribers devices that have previously sent subscribe requests for such dataset to the transporter system.

  • Publication number: 20130244586
Abstract: A first network device including a first calibration module to generate training signals for each of a plurality of subcarriers. The training signals are transmitted from the first network device to a second network device via antennas of the first network device using the subcarriers. A first steering module receives a first matrix for each subcarrier, which includes channel state information for each of the training signals received by the second network device, from the second network device according to a transmission schedule and generates a steering matrix based on the first matrix. The transmission schedule is predetermined or is transmitted to the second network device prior to transmitting the training signals. A first control module adjusts, based on the steering matrix, first beamforming weights associated with the antennas to direct first radio frequency signals to be transmitted toward the second network device.
