Abstract: An electronic Input/Output Interface and device abstraction system used in gaming machine includes: a game central processing unit (the game “CPU”); an intelligent input/output controller board (the “IOCB”); an Industry Standard Architecture PC bus “ISA” bus); and a framed message transport protocol. The IOCB facilitates the communications between the game CPU and virtual device services, which are peripheral devices associated with the gaming system. These include devices such as displays, buttons, hoppers, coin mechanisms and bill validators. The framed message transport protocol includes: a message header, a body containing a virtual device message, and a packet validation signature. The game CPU communicates to gaming peripherals by sending virtual device messages across the ISA bus to the IOCB. The IOCB then routes the virtual device message to the appropriate virtual device services.

Abstract: Lidocaine analogs, latex particle-analog conjugates, and methods of making and using the same. The analogs have the formula: wherein Z comprises a nucleophilic group and optionally a protecting group; L is a linker; R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 are each independently H, a protecting group, or C1 to C6 alkyls, provided that R1 and R3 may form a six membered ring with the nitrogen and carbon atom to which R1 and R3 are attached; R6 and R7 are each independently H or C1 to C20 alkyls; and including salts thereof. The analogs are immobilized on latex particles and prepared for use in assays for lidocaine.

Abstract: The present invention relates to immobilized procainamide analogs, as well as to a method of making immobilized procainamide analogs. These immobilized analogs are prepared by activating the carboxyl group on a substituted p-benzoic acid derivative toward nucleophilic attack; reacting the activated benzoic acid derivative with a polyamine to produce the benzoic acid derivative of Formula 3: and binding the benzoic acid derivative of Formula 3 to a latex polymer having functional groups that react with aliphatic amino groups. A method of conducting an immunoassay using the immobilized procainamide analog Formula 3 is described, comprising the steps of preparing a solution comprising said immobilized procainamide analog; adding a sample suspected of containing procainamide to said solution; adding an anti-procainamide antibody to said solution and observing the rate of increase in solution turbidity following antibody addition.

Access rights for a memory operation are verified using a first data structure in response to receiving a request to perform the operation, wherein the request includes a virtual address for the operation. Responsive to access rights being verified for the memory operation, the virtual address translated into a real address using a second data structure.

Abstract: Dynamic routing of data to multiple processor complexes. PCI address space is subdivided among a plurality of processor complexes. Translation table entries at each processor complex determine which processor complex is to receive a DMA transfer, thereby enabling routing of DMA data to one I/O hub node while accessing translation table entries at another I/O hub node. Further, interrupt requests may be dynamically routed to multiple processor complexes.

Abstract: Clear, or translucent fabric softener compositions comprise fabric softener compound, principal solvent system, and high electrolyte levels. The high electrolyte level allows for a broader range of principal solvents to be used and/or reduces the incidence of increased viscosity when low levels of principal solvent are used. Phase stabilizers which are primarily ethoxylated hydrophobic materials can be used to reduce the amount of principal solvent that is needed and/or to stabilize the compositions in the presence of the highest levels of electrolyte. Specific phase stabilizers provide additional benefits including improved softening. Specific electrolytes provide improved results. Addition of primary solvents and/or phase stabilizers to the softener compounds can improve the viscosity/handling of the compounds and the ability to create the finished compositions.

Abstract: A high speed flexible interconnect cable includes a number of conductive layers and a number of dielectric layers. Conductive signal traces, located on the conductive layers, combine with the dielectric layers to form one or more high speed electrical transmission line structures. The transmission line structure may be realized as a grounded coplanar waveguide structure, a microstrip structure, a stripline structure, or the like. The cable can be coupled to destination components using a variety of connection techniques, e.g., direct bonding to a circuit substrate, direct soldering to a flip chip, mechanical attachment to a component, or integration with a circuit substrate. The cable can also be terminated with any number of known or standardized connector packages, e.g., SMA, GPPO, or V connectors.

Abstract: The detail in an image can be enhanced by selective filtering to separate at least one part of the frequency spectrum of the image from a remaining part of the image. The amplitude of the separated part of the frequency spectrum of image is changed and the amplitude-changed portion is combined with the remaining part of the image. The filtering and/or the change in amplitude is controlled at least in part in response to the content of the image to enhance the detail level of the image where appropriate, while preventing enhancement in areas of the picture where it is likely that artifacts would be generated.

Abstract: Error diffusion is performed upon input image data. In one aspect, multiple error diffusion processing elements perform error diffusion on a selected pixel in parallel. In another aspect, the error diffusion logic is integrally formed with a fast local memory in the same electronic device, such as an ASIC. The error data produced by the error diffusion logic for a pixel is buffered in the fast local memory until it is to be used by the error diffusion logic on other pixels. In still another aspect, a first-in-first-out (FIFO) buffer regulates or buffers the color image data between the output of a color conversion system, such as a colorant lookup table, and the input an error diffusion processing element. In yet another aspect, the error diffusion logic has tagging logic that produces and stores an indicator, either in the output data stream itself or in a separate area, to indicate whether a raster contains printable data.

Abstract: An apparatus, system and method for providing multiple logical partitions in a system area network are provided Logical partitioning support is provided for host channel adapters which allows multiple operating systems to share the resources of a single physical host channel adapter (HCA). The apparatus, system and method ensures that each operating system is unaware that the HCA hardware resources are being shared with other operating systems and further guarantees that the individual operating systems are prevented from accessing HCA hardware resources which are associated with other operating systems.

With the apparatus, system and method, a two level protection mechanism is provided for protecting host channel adapter (HCA) facilities from unauthorized access. With the present invention, a first level of access is provided through virtual address translation and a mechanism for determining if the requestor of access may access a system memory address space page associated with a real address to which the virtual address maps. A second level of access is provided through the allocation of usage classes and determining a required usage class for accessing an HCA facility.

The fabric conditioning composition includes a fabric conditioning agent, perfumed particles and minor components. The perfume particles are a perfume composition incorporated into a porous mineral carrier such as clay and/or zeolite. Optionally, the perfume composition comprises low levels of unstable perfume components. Alternatively, the perfumed particles have a coating material encapsulating at least a portion of the particles. Optionally, the articles are packaged in a container having a moisture barrier to prevent premature release of the perfume therefrom.

Abstract: The invention is a system and method for teaching how to play multi-component percussion equipment. The inventive method includes the steps of attaching respective indicators, each bearing a distinct color, to each respective component of the percussion equipment, and coloring notes on the drummer's score with respective matching colors, and the step of playing notes on the drummer's score on the corresponding respective piece of equipment. The inventive system includes a musical score, a first drum stick, a second drum stick, and a plurality of respective indicators, each indicator having distinct color, attached to each respective component of the equipment. The score is color-coded such that notes that are to be played on a respective component are indicated in a respective color.

The faceplate includes a plate arrangement of at least two mutually parallel plates each having an array of fixed apertures. At least one of the plates is movable in translational motion such that the at least two plates collectively define an array of adjustable-size apertures that can open wide enough to readily receive bare optical fiber and then decrease in size to immobilize the received optical fiber.

The invention comprises placing a first Bind Work Queue Element (WQE) at the head of a work queue, wherein the first Bind WQE defines parameters associated with a first Memory Window. A set of Work Requests is then placed on the work queue, behind the first Bind WQE wherein the work requests invoke operations that access the first Memory Window. A second Bind WQE is then placed on the work queue, behind the first set of Work Requests. This second Bind WQE defines parameters associated with a second Memory Window. A second set of Work Requests is placed on the work queue behind the second Bind WQE and invoke operations that access the second memory window. The Memory Windows can be associated with a common Memory Region and have different addresses and lengths or different access rights. In another embodiment, the first and second Memory Windows can be associated with different Memory Regions.

The present invention comprises receiving a work request from a user, wherein the work request comprises an index portion and a protection portion. The index portion of the work request is used to locate an element in an address translation and protection table. The protection portion of the work request is then compared with a protection key in the table element, and access to memory is granted only if the protection portion and protection key match.
