  • Patent number: 9622605
Abstract: Cup lid with integrated container(s) that couples with the top of a cup. The cup and cup lid form at least two containment volumes, Embodiments enable easy containment, inclusion of fresh food, transportation and access of solid or liquid in the container and cup without disengagement of the cup lid from the cup. Contents of the lid container may be accessed, partially consumed, replaced in the container and resealed at any time as desired by the user. Additionally, an independent drop-in container within the lid cavity may be resealed and removed from the lid cavity and taken to other locations such as home, work, or car. Simplifies eating and drinking from one unified container and cup in a theater or stadium having seats for example that provide one cup-holder per seat. Provides one free hand to hold a child's hand for safety while in stadiums and amusement parks.

  • Publication number: 20170101236
Abstract: A food container is disclosed that includes a food compartment and a seal-on cover. The food compartment has an outer rim that circumscribes a volume. The food compartment outer rim has tear tab guides that extend outward from the rim. The seal-on cover has a peripheral edge with two portions, the first portion is connected to the rim and the second portion is not connected to the rim and extends past the outer rim forming an overhang. The extended tear tab guides are located adjacent to the overhang and direct the user as to where the tear line begins at the overhang and extends to an opposite side of the peripheral edge. When a user pulls on the overhang, the seal-on cover tears along the tear line and exposes a portion of the volume.

  • Publication number: 20170099997
Abstract: A portable packaging system is disclosed that includes a food container, a beverage container lid and a tray. The food container has a bottom and a wall extending from the bottom that defines a food container footprint. The lid has a rim coupling structure that detachably couples to the rim of a beverage container and a hole to allow access to the contents of the beverage container when the beverage container lid is coupled to the beverage container. The tray has a tray bottom and walls that define a tray footprint that complements the food container footprint such that the food container can securely nest in the tray. The tray and lid can detachably couple to each other. In other embodiments, the system need not have a separate food container.

  • Publication number: 20170074439
Abstract: A live loaded ball pipe joint design accommodates for seal decay without the need for maintenance or adjustment. The pipe ball joint includes a casing having a socket section with a substantially spherical interior surface. A ball pipe section is received in the socket section. A seal is received in an annular groove within the socket section and is disposed against the ball segment. A push ring is disposed against the seal and a spring is disposed against the push ring. A retainer is secured to the casing and is disposed against the spring for loading the spring against the push ring. The loaded spring accommodates for decay of the sealing components and automatically adjusts the position of the push ring as the sealing components decay.

  • Publication number: 20170046653
Abstract: Techniques for planning of transportation requests may be described. In particular, zones may be generated based on historical information associated with transportation requests, where each zone may be configured to manage a number of the transportation requests. An inter-zone sequence may also be generated relatively statically to indicate an order of progressing between the zones in response to the transportation requests. In addition, an intra-zone sequence for each zone may also be generated relatively dynamically. The intra-zone sequence may indicate an order of progression within the corresponding zone in response to current transportation requests of that zone.

  • Publication number: 20160128502
Abstract: A container lid is disclosed that accepts a snap-on container. The lid includes a continuous outer coupling trough for attachment to the open top of a beverage container where the trough circumscribes a footprint of the container lid. A straw-hole planar surface is disposed within the footprint, the straw-hole planar surface is adjacent to the outer coupling trough and a hole for drinking a liquid in the container extends through the straw-hole planar surface. A riser wall extends away from the straw-hole planar surface and defines a first planar surface above the straw-hole planar surface. A sip hole extends through the first planar surface. A food container coupling wall connects to the first planar surface and extends from the first planar surface to a position lower than the first planar surface and a food container coupling bottom connected to the food container coupling wall.

  • Publication number: 20160114947
Abstract: A cup lid with an integrated container that can be coupled to a beverage cup has a continuous outer coupling ring which circumscribes a footprint of the lid, and a drink-hole planar surface above the coupling ring and within the lid footprint. An annular surface above the coupling ring, within and non-concentric with the lid footprint, is connected to the drink-hole planar surface. A food container has a container inner wall extending downward from the annular surface, and a bottom connected to the container inner wall and coplanar with or below the coupling ring. A drink hole for drinking a liquid in the cup extends through the drink-hole surface at a position outside of the annular surface, and a cover is removably attached to the annular surface and encloses the food container.

  • Publication number: 20160115674
Abstract: A retention system is provided for use in connecting a replaceable tool to a work implement. The retention system may have a generally cylindrical pin with a first hollow end, and a second hollow end located opposite the first hollow end. The retention system may also have a first fastener configured to engage the first hollow end and cause the first hollow end to flare radially outward. The retention system may further have a second fastener configured to engage the second hollow end and cause the second hollow end to flare radially outward.

  • Patent number: 9316634
Abstract: Isolated transduced cells exhibiting FRDA characteristics in an inducible fashion are disclosed. Isolated transduced cells comprise an expression vector having a nucleic acid sequence encoding an shRNA for frataxin protein knockdown and a heterologous expression control sequence. Additionally, methods of screening for a candidate therapeutic agent for treating Friedreich's Ataxia using isolated transduced cells are disclosed. Further, a recombinant nucleic acid construct for frataxin knockdown is disclosed that comprises a nucleic acid encoding an shRNA operably linked to a heterologous expression control sequence and expressing an shRNA molecule in a dose-responsive fashion.

  • Publication number: 20160051071
Abstract: A hot liquid straw is disclosed which features a flexible, elongated, hollow body having a continuous noncircular cross section and a length suited for drinking from a beverage container. The straw is dimensioned to regulate flow and remove heat from a hot liquid as it passes through, thereby delivering a volume of the liquid to a user's mouth at a temperature which is safe for consumption. The straw is flexible to allow for safe drinking on the go and for use in various heights of beverage containers. A system for drinking from a beverage container with a lid that accepts a snap-on container is also disclosed, in which the straw is inserted through a hole in the lid.

  • Publication number: 20160046415
Abstract: A container lid system is provided. The system has a lid with a top cover and coupling trough and at least two retaining tabs. When the lid is attached to a beverage container, the retaining tabs travel over the bead rim of the container, and grip the lid onto the beverage container. The lid may be detached from the beverage container by lifting on the retaining tab, and thus permanently deforming the tab such that the deformation indicates that the lid has been tampered with. The lid is constructed such that the retaining tabs have sufficient force to grip the beverage container and form a liquid-tight seal with the beverage container's pressurized contents. The lid's retaining tabs, however, are constructed to bend when a force is applied to them, wherein that force is one that a person can exert with a finger. Thus, the lid can be easily press-fitted onto a container and removed by hand.
