  • Patent number: 11702889
Abstract: The present invention refers to a method of drilling a marine wellbore with fluid reverse circulation without using drilling riser tubulars. In reverse circulation drilling, the fluid return with gravels occurs inside the drill string (17) and the injection of clean fluid is done through the annular of the well, so that, having a rotating head over the BOP (19), or inside it, the use of riser tubulars as a flow line for the fluid return with gravels is disposed, using instead the drill string (17). For the kill and choke lines, as well as for fluid injection, rigid or flexible lines can be used, eliminating the need to use drilling risers, thus releasing large load capacity and space on the probe. The method of this invention also eliminates the need for large volumes of fluid to fill entire riser tubulars. The entire operation can be done without the need for subsea pumps or concentric columns.

  • Patent number: 11695417
Abstract: A closed-loop feedback system and method of active noise cancellation to maintain a desired operating frequency of a qubit during a quantum computation, even when that frequency is relatively sensitive to flux noise. A series of Ramsey experiments is performed on the qubit to estimate an offset between its actual and desired operating frequencies, and the error is accumulated. After the probing is complete, the accumulated error is supplied to an arbitrary waveform generator that produces a magnetic flux that is coupled to the qubit, thereby tuning the qubit and actively controlling its operating frequency. Having corrected the operating frequency of the qubit and extended its coherence time, the quantum state of the qubit is allowed to evolve according to the computation.

  • Publication number: 20230208777
Abstract: A processor is configured to receive, from a first device, a plurality of first-direction packets belonging to a flow of communication, pass the first-direction packets to a second device, receive, from the second device, a plurality of second-direction packets belonging to the flow, pass the second-direction packets to the first device, calculate, after receiving each of at least some of the second-direction packets, an estimated in-flight number, by assuming that the second-direction packet acknowledges receipt of a number of the first-direction packets that is based on an estimated average number of received first-direction packets acknowledged by the second-direction packets, the estimated in-flight number being an estimated volume of payload data, contained at least partly in the first-direction packets, that has been passed by the processor to the second device but has not yet been received by the second device, and to regulate the flow, based on the estimated in-flight number.

  • Patent number: 11680647
Abstract: A valve for controlling a fluid flow comprises: (a) a valve body having an internal cavity; (b) a valve stem receivable within the internal cavity; the valve stem having a control portion configured and a tail portion; the control portion having a first diameter thereof; (c) a deformable valve seat carried by the control portion in a coaxial conformal manner; and (d) a ring mountable within the internal cavity. The control portion has a circumferentially arranged area adjacent to the tail portion. The circumferentially arranged area is of a second diameter smaller than the first diameter. The ring is mountable between a nut and the valve seat such that the nut when secured to the valve body presses onto the valve seat such that the valve seat is deformed within a space between the circumferentially arranged area defined by the second diameter and fills the space in a sealed manner.

  • Publication number: 20230188561
Abstract: A device receives a packet from a local network. The packet may be directed toward a cloud computing resource. The device determines that the packet is associated with a new packet flow. In response to determining that the packet is associated with the new packet flow, the device provides one or more packets from the new packet flow to a machine learning model for packet inspection. The device receives an output from the machine learning model and routes the new packet flow based on the output received from the machine learning model. The output indicates whether or not the new packet flow is associated with a network attack.

  • Publication number: 20230158244
Abstract: An injection device comprises a needle holder that supports a needle, and a vial holder that supports a vial. A spring urges the needle holder to move towards the vial holder but that movement is restrained by a latch until the time of use. Releasing the latch primes the device by allowing the needle holder to move, whereby a proximal end of the needle pierces a septum of the vial. The latch is preferably released by rotating an actuator. The same rotation preferably frees the needle holder and vial to be advanced axially relative to the actuator, whereby a distal end of the needle can be introduced into the skin of a subject. Compressed air from a tank may be used to drive the discharge of the vial. The air tank preferably surrounds the vial and provides a broad proximal surface, against which manual pressure can be applied to the device.
