  • Publication number: 20200147318
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a dose detection system for use with a medication delivery device in which a dose setting member rotates relative to an actuator during dose delivery. The dose detection system includes a module which is removably attached to the medication delivery device. The module includes a rotation sensor attached to the actuator during dose delivery. A sensed element is attached to the dose setting member and includes surface features detectable by the rotation sensor. The rotation sensor comprises a following member including a contact portion resting against and spring-biased in the direction of the surface features. The contact surface is positioned to move over the surface features during rotation of the sensed element, and the rotation sensor is responsive to the movement of the contact portion over the surface features to detect the rotation of the dose setting member.

  • Publication number: 20200023137
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a dose detection system for use in combination with a medication delivery device. In one aspect, the system includes a module keyed to the device and including a sensor operable to detect the relative angular position of a sensed element attached to the medication delivery device. The system determines the type of medication contained by the device, and/or the type of device, based on the detected angular position of the sensed element. In another aspect, the dose detection system is used in combination with a medication delivery device including a dose setting member which rotates relative to an actuator during dose delivery. The dose detection system includes a sensor and is operable to detect the relative angular positions of a sensed element attached to the dose setting member during dose delivery and to determine the amount of dose delivered. Related methods are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10470095
Abstract: A beam pattern of a base station antenna is refined when communicating with multiple aircraft, so that interference to adjacent beams from the base station are reduced. The method include receiving position locations from each of multiple aircraft. The method also include the receipt of an attitude of each of the aircraft as well as receipt of measurements of the pilot signals from each of the aircraft. The pilot signals were transmitted by the base station. The method also include the adjustment of an amplitude and a phase of a signal driving at least one antenna transmit element to refine the beam pattern. The adjustment is based at least in part on the pilot measurements, the position locations, and the attitude of each of the aircraft.

  • Publication number: 20190240408
Abstract: A medication delivery device having a lock element. The device is connectable to an electrical plug of a conduit. The device includes an external housing with an opening that ports to a plug receiving hollow within an interior volume. An electrical circuit connected to at least one of a rechargeable battery and a memory controller includes a connection element within the plug receiving hollow. The lock element travels within the plug receiving hollow when a dose delivery assembly of the device operates for forcing medication from the device. The lock element is sized and positioned to have its travel halted by abutment with the plug, when the plug is within the plug receiving hollow and electrically interfacing with the connection element, to thereby halt the dose delivery assembly from further operating for forcing medication from the device.

  • Publication number: 20190160229
Abstract: Medication delivery devices, sensing systems, and methods are disclosed for determining the relative axial and rotational movements of its members to determine the amount of a dose set and/or delivered by the medication delivery device. A sensing system comprises a barrel sensor system (100), a drive sleeve sensor system (130), and/or an axial sensor system (140). The barrel sensor system (100) is for detecting the absolute relative angular position of the barrel relative to the housing during dose setting. The drive sleeve sensor system (130) is for detecting the absolute relative angular position of the drive sleeve relative to the housing during dose delivery. The axial sensor system (140) is for detecting the relative axial positions of the dose dial relative to the housing during dose setting and delivery. A controller receives outputs from the sensor systems corresponding to the absolute relative positions to determine the actual amounts of dose set and delivered.

  • Publication number: 20190151559
Abstract: Sensing systems, devices and methods are disclosed for determining the relative movement of first and second members of a medication delivery device which are proportional to the amount of a dose set and/or delivered by operation of the medication delivery device. A sensor is coupled with the first member. A pair of targets is coupled with the second member. Each target comprises an array of teeth which move through an area sensed by the sensor. The sensor thereby detects characteristic values of a sensed parameter corresponding to the combined relative positions of the first and second members. The sensing system outputs this information to a processor which determines the amount of the dose set and/or delivered. Related medication delivery devices and methods are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9681337
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a handoff procedure for a satellite communication system such as a broadband low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite communication system. A gateway and a user terminal (UT) coordinate and schedule a satellite-to-satellite handoff in such a way that there are no messaging round-trip delays between the last return service link (RSL) packet transmitted from the user terminal to the source satellite and the first RSL packet transmitted from the user terminal to the target satellite. Therefore, an outage on the return link (from the user terminal to the gateway) can be limited to the actual time for moving the antenna feed from the source satellite to the target satellite. Furthermore, an outage on the forward link (from the gateway to the user terminal) can be limited to a single round-trip delay in addition to the time for moving the antenna feed.

  • Publication number: 20160112908
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) adjusts a rate of performing searches and/or measurements of neighbor cells to conserve resources of the UE. In one instance, the UE independently determines whether to perform the searches and/or measurements of the neighbor cells of first and second RATs based on a signal quality of a serving cell of a first RAT and/or a signal quality of the neighbor cell(s) of the first RAT. The UE avoids performing the searches and/or measurements of the neighbor cell(s) when the signal quality of the serving cell is above a first threshold. The UE selectively performs the searches and/or measurements when the signal quality of the serving cell is above a second threshold and below the first threshold, and the signal quality of the neighbor cell(s) of the first RAT is above the second threshold or a third threshold.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) avoids entering a limited service state when the UE attempts to switch from a first radio access technology (RAT) to a second RAT when the UE experiences a communication service outage with respect to the second RAT. In one instance, the UE attempts to access the second radio access technology (RAT) from a first RAT. The first RAT may be in a service outage or have weak coverage. The UE does not reach a maximum number of network access failures in the second RAT. Rather, the UE attempts to acquire a third RAT before reaching the maximum number of retries. The third RAT may be the same as the first RAT or may be a different RAT altogether.
