Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for sharing data links with devices based on connection of the devices to a same local network. In one or more aspects, a device includes a connection component configured to connect the device to a local intranet network and a sharing component configured to send a request to a remote content sharing server to share a link to a first content item, associated with a first remote content provider, with a second device connected to the local intranet network, wherein the request is based on connection of the device and the second device to the local intranet network and registration of the second device with the remote content sharing server.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and media for presenting an advertisement are provided. In some embodiments, the method comprises: receiving one or more advertising parameters associated with an application; determining, using a hardware processor, that an advertisement related to the application is to be presented based at least in part on whether the application has been installed on a device associated with a user; and causing the advertisement to be presented in connection with presentation of a video having content associated with the application in response to determining that the advertisement related to the application is to be presented, wherein the advertisement includes information indicating one or more virtual items associated with the application available for purchase.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for dynamically displaying hyperlinks in a video based on various factors associated with a device at which the video is played and/or a user of the device. In one or more aspects, a system includes a request component configured to receive a request to play a video hosted by a media provider. The system further includes a selection component configured to select a subset of links included in a set of links associated with the video to provide with the video when it is played in response to the request based in part on a number of links included in the set of links, wherein graphical elements respectively representative of the links included in the subset of links are configured to be displayed over the video when the video is played in response to the request.

Abstract: Decorating embedded graphic representations on social shares with metadata is performed. A request is received by a content sharing platform from a social network for a representation of a content item. The representation of the content item is to be included in a social share on the social network. Current statistical information associated with the content item is identified. The representation of the content item and data indicative of the current statistical information associated with the content item is provided to the social network.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus include computer programs encoded on a computer-readable storage medium, including a method for providing content. A first device associated with a first user is identified. A second different device, associated with a second different user, is determined to be in proximity to the first device, forming a first group. A determination is made of an occurrence of an event in association with the second different device. The event is evaluated to determine when the event is indicative of a follow-on opportunity for presentation of content to the first user. The information related to the event is stored as a record in a log in association with an identifier for the group. A first opportunity to provide content to the first device is identified and evaluated including locating the record. Information in the record is used when selecting content for delivery in response to the first opportunity.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus include computer programs encoded on a computer-readable storage medium, including a method for providing content. A set of co-located devices is identified, including at least first and second devices that are associated with different users and are currently in proximity to each other. A determination is made that a first one of the co-located devices is configured to be viewed by multiple people. Use data is gathered that is associated with current sessions associated with the different users related to their use of their respective devices including gathering first data related to the use of the first device by a first user and second data related to the use of the second device by a second different user. The first and second data are aggregated and evaluated to identify content to present on the first one of the co-located devices for presentation to both users.

The requested media item and at least one social annotation based on the social annotation data are presented by the client device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for permitting selection and modification of a set of video segments on a mobile device is described. A user interface is provided on a screen of the mobile device to allow a user to select any of a plurality of original video segments of an original video. A selection of at least one of the original video segments is received via the user interface. A request for a modification to the selected at least one original video segment can also be received via the user interface. The systems and methods can cause a modification of the selected at least one original video segment to be performed to provide at least one modified video segment. The at least one modified video segment can be presented via the user interface.

Abstract: Implementations relate to continuation of playback of media content by different devices. In some implementations, a method includes causing a stream of media content data to be received from a stream source and output by a first device to a user, where a portion of the data is buffered on the first device before output. An indication is detected that the user has stopped using the first device for output of the content data. A place marker indicates a portion of the content that is output approximately at the time of the indication. The method causes the stream of content data to be received and output by a second device starting at the place marker portion. The buffered content data is sent from the first device to the second device for output by the second device before unbuffered portions of the content data received from the stream source.
