Abstract: A dynamic selection of content from social shares to display in a user interface is performed. A first set of media items that have graphic representations on a user interface (UI) are compared with a second set of media items referenced in a social share to be presented on the UI. Media items from the second set are identified that are not included in the first set of media items. The UI is modified to include a graphic representation of at least one identified media item from the second set in the social share.

Abstract: Implementations of the disclosure describe systems and methods for triggering user notifications of media content items. It is determined that a plurality of media content items has a value of an interest metric exceeding a defined threshold value. The plurality of media content items are represented by a list of media content items compiled based on a pre-defined criterion. The interest metric reflects interest of a user to the plurality of media content items. The plurality of media content items is provided by a content channel that has not been subscribed to by the user. Among the plurality of media content items, a media content item that has not been consumed by the user is selected. A notification is provided to a device employed by the user to notify the user of the media content item.

Abstract: Decorating embedded graphic representations on social shares with metadata is performed. A request is received by a content sharing platform from a social network for a representation of a content item. The representation of the content item is to be included in a social share on the social network. Current statistical information associated with the content item is identified. The representation of the content item and data indicative of the current statistical information associated with the content item is provided to the social network.

Abstract: A dynamic selection of content from social shares to display in a user interface is performed. A request for a user interface (UI) document is received. A set of identifiers is associated with the UI document. The set of identifiers includes a page identifier for the UI document. An identifier list for a social share associated with the UI document is obtained in view of the page identifier. The identifier list associated with the social share is updated in view of the set of identifiers associated with the UI document. The UI document is modified to provide a representation associated with an identifier selected from the updated identifier list for the social share.

Abstract: A method for generating connection recommendations for a social network from social contacts is disclosed. The method includes identifying a first user of a content sharing platform, selecting a second user of the content sharing platform based on an affinity score between the first user and the second user, wherein the first user and the second user are not connected on the content sharing platform, contacting the second user to request a list of recommended subscriptions on the content sharing platform for the first user, receiving, from the second user, the list of recommended subscriptions for the first user, and providing, to the first user, at least a portion of the list of recommended subscriptions as suggestions for subscriptions on the content sharing platform for the first user.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing selectable content creator controls in conjunction with sponsored media content items. In one implementation, a processing device receives a media content item of a content creator. The processing device provides the media content item to a content viewer based on a selection of the media content item by a content sponsor. The processing device provides, to the content viewer and in relation to the media content item, a first control, the first control being associated with the content sponsor. The processing device provides, to the content viewer and in relation to the media content item, a second control, the second control being associated with the content creator.

In some implementations, a method for presenting a customized user interface based on user actions is provided, the method comprising: receiving a request for media content from an application comprising a user interface for presenting media content that includes a plurality of user interface elements that each initiate sharing on a different platform; determining that the request was sent from the user device as a result of the user selecting a link on a first platform; and causing the application to present an additional user interface element that initiates sharing of the media content item on the first platform in addition to the plurality of user interface elements in response to determining that the request was transmitted as a result of selection of the link on the first platform.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for dynamically displaying hyperlinks in a video based on various factors associated with a device at which the video is played and/or a user of the device. In one or more aspects, a system includes a request component configured to receive a request to play a video hosted by a media provider. The system further includes a selection component configured to select a subset of links included in a set of links associated with the video to provide with the video when it is played in response to the request based in part on a number of links included in the set of links, wherein graphical elements respectively representative of the links included in the subset of links are configured to be displayed over the video when the video is played in response to the request.

Abstract: A computer-implemented technique can include providing, at a computing device including one or more processors, a chat application user interface for display. The chat application user interface can be associated with a real-time chat communication between a user of the computing device and another user of another computing device via a chat application. The technique can also include determining that the user of the computing device is interacting with a non-chat application other than the chat application. Additionally, the technique can include determining shareable content of the non-chat application and modifying the chat application user interface to include a selectable indicator of the shareable content. The technique can also include receiving a selection of the selectable indicator by the user, and in response to receiving the selection, transmitting the shareable content of the non-chat application to the other user of the other computing device via the chat application.

In some implementations, a method includes causing a stream of media content data to be received from a stream source and output by a first device to a user, where a portion of the data is buffered on the first device before output. An indication is detected that the user has stopped using the first device for output of the content data. A place marker indicates a portion of the content that is output approximately at the time of the indication. The method causes the stream of content data to be received and output by a second device starting at the place marker portion. The buffered content data is sent from the first device to the second device for output by the second device before unbuffered portions of the content data received from the stream source.

Abstract: Systems and techniques are disclosed for receiving one or more recipient identifiers and a destination location from a user or an application. A uniform resource locator may be generated and may comprise a destination ID corresponding to the destination location. An entry containing the one or more recipient identifiers may be generated in an access control list for the destination location. A recipient may request access to the destination location by selecting the uniform resource locator. A recipient identifier may be determined for the recipient requesting the access and may be compared to entries in the access control list. If the recipient identifier matches an entry in the access control list, then the recipient may be granted access to the destination location.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing competitive analysis are provided. A data processing system can receive from a first content provider a selection of a value for a targeting criteria. A second content provider associated with the first content provider is determined. A content format served by the second content provider is determined based on the selected value for the targeting criteria, over a predetermined period of time. Abstract: Offline sharing of content is performed. An offline request to share content associated with a content sharing platform to a social networking service is received by a processing device of a user device. The offline request is received while the user device is not connected to a network. A share request is generated for the content in view of the social networking service. The share request for the content is generated while the user device is not connected to the network. Upon determining that a network connection is available, the share request for the content is provided to the social networking service.
