Abstract: Systems and methods for recommending content to a user that the user previously viewed for viewing again are presented. A system includes a crawling component configured to crawl watch histories of a plurality of users, wherein the watch histories reflect videos watched by respective users of the plurality of users, and identify based on the watch histories, a set of videos that have been watched more than once by individual users of the plurality of users. An identification component further analyzes watch history of a first user, wherein the watch history of the first user reflects videos watched by the first user, and identifies based on the watch history of the first user, one or more videos watched by the first user that are included in the set of videos, and a recommendation component recommends the one or more videos to the first user for re-watching.

Abstract: A processing device determines a rendering mode for a media item being presented in a user interface on a mobile device. The rendering mode is one of multiple rendering modes. The processing device determines a set of captioning parameters that corresponds to the rendering mode of the media item and provides captioning for the media item in the user interface based on the set of captioning parameters that corresponds to the rendering mode.

Abstract: A mobile device determines playback of a media item is complete on the mobile device and determines that an orientation of the mobile device is in landscape mode in response to the playback being complete. The mobile device provides a user interface that corresponds to the landscape mode and presents additional content pertaining to the media item in the landscape mode.

Abstract: A dynamic selection of content from social shares to display in a user interface is performed. A request for a user interface (UI) document is received. A set of identifiers is associated with the UI document. The set of identifiers includes a page identifier for the UI document. An identifier list for a social share associated with the UI document is obtained in view of the page identifier. The identifier list associated with the social share is updated in view of the set of identifiers associated with the UI document. The UI document is modified to provide a representation associated with an identifier selected from the updated identifier list for the social share.

Abstract: Systems and methods for permitting selection and modification of a set of video segments on a mobile device is described. A user interface is provided on a screen of the mobile device to allow a user to select any of a plurality of original video segments of an original video. A selection of at least one of the original video segments is received via the user interface. A request for a modification to the selected at least one original video segment can also be received via the user interface. The systems and methods can cause a modification of the selected at least one original video segment to be performed to provide at least one modified video segment. The at least one modified video segment can be presented via the user interface.

Abstract: Systems and methods for triggering user notifications of media content items. An example method may comprise: identifying a user of a content sharing platform; determining that a plurality of media content items has a value of a user interest metric exceeding a defined threshold value, wherein the plurality of media content items is represented by a list of media content items compiled based on a pre-defined criterion, and wherein the user interest metric reflects interest of the user to the plurality of media content items; selecting, among the plurality of media content items, a media content item that has not been accessed by the user; and notifying the user of the media content item.
