  • Publication number: 20180325270
Abstract: A system and method for calibrating one or more sensing features for a furniture item detection is provided. More particularly, embodiments relate to determining a first noise state associated with an environment of the furniture item based on a first measured noise received from one or more sensors associated with the furniture item. A first baseline noise level for the furniture item can be generated based on filtering the first noise state associated with the environment of the furniture item. A second noise state associated with the environment of the furniture item can be determined based on a second measured noise received from the one or more sensors associated with the furniture item. A second baseline noise level for the furniture item can be generated based on filtering the second noise state associated with the environment of the furniture item. The first baseline noise level can then be adjusted to the second baseline noise level.

  • Publication number: 20180292674
Abstract: An eyeglass cushioning device useful for diminishing pressure placed upon a user's ears and surrounding area through extended headphone, goggle, protective eyewear and circumaural headset use. The eyeglass cushioning device includes a sleeve member, at least one headset spacer and a cushioning pad. The sleeve member is flexible and configured to slide over the temple of a user-wearer's eyeglasses. The headset spacer is attached to the sleeve member, and may be comprised of an upper and lower spacer relative to the eyeglass temple, configured to minimize deformation of the ear, and thereby diminish discomfort of a user-wearer with extended headset use. • Patent number: 10048662
Abstract: A system and method for incorporating occupancy-detecting technology into furniture is provided. More particularly, the invention relates to detecting occupancy using a detection pad coupled a portion of a bed. The detection pad may include an aluminized polymer material, a metalized and/or conductive fabric, an aluminum sheet, a metal screen, an aluminum tape, a wire grid, or other metalized material or fabric. A controller determines the corresponding response based on single-occupancy or dual-occupancy detection by one or more detection pads. A processor receives information regarding changes in capacitance and determines when a change in voltage satisfies a threshold. Based on a determination of occupancy, or lack thereof, a variety of corresponding features of the adjustable bed may be activated.

  • Publication number: 20180189428
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for generating a 3-dimensional (3D) model to characterize and visualize debris. The computer-implemented method includes defining a bounding surface for one or more debris fields generated by an on-orbit breakup event. The bounding surface is defined by using an upper limit fragment spreading speed predicted by a breakup model and applying the upper limit fragment spreading speed in different directions to generate points on the bounding surface. The computer-implemented method also includes connecting one or more points on the bounding surface to maintain a single bounded 3D mesh. The computer-implemented method further includes applying color and/or transparency to the 3D model.

  • Patent number: 9953011
Abstract: Systems and associated processes for generating user pagination preference data and using that data to generate and/or present network pages are described herein. These systems and processes can dynamically collect data representing a user's preference respecting specific layout determination factors, and can store this data in association with the user. The systems and processes can also make use of that data to provide the user with a personalized user interface which will provide the user with a page layout tailored to that specific user's browsing habits. Moreover, data representing the attributes of the requested content or the user device may further contribute to generating a page layout which optimally displays the requested content to the user. Accordingly, user pagination preference data can potentially both present a more satisfying user interface and elicit more item purchases than existing pagination systems in some embodiments.

  • Publication number: 20180037796
Abstract: Fluid additives suitable for use in a wellbore (e.g., a liquid comprising an aqueous miscible fluid, a liquid surfactant, or both) may be converted into a liquid-infiltrated porous silica that is a flowable bulk solid. The flowable bulk solid may then be handled and stored as a traditional solid wellbore additive. For example, the flowable bulk solid may be added to an aqueous fluid to produce a wellbore fluid that is then introduced into a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation.
