  • Patent number: 10909255
Abstract: Systems and methods to control data access and usage by storing a permitted use of a set of data items. The permitted use identifies: a set of computer resources to be used to operate on the set of data items; rules for operating on the data items; and a data product to be generated from the set of computer resources operating on the set of data items. A project space provides the set of computer resources to operate on the set of data items according to the permitted use, wherein the data product is to be transferred from the project space to a user device separate from the system; and a usage monitor records operations of the set of computer resources on the set of data items in the project space for compliance with the permitted use. A data air-lock mechanism implements dynamic permissions rules based on actual usages.

  • Patent number: 10903980
Abstract: Multiple, separately administrated computer systems storing slices of the cipher text of a Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data item that is represented by a token. The token is used as a substitute of the data item. The data item is encrypted using a public key. To recover the data item, a complete set of the slices is retrieved from the separate computer systems and decrypted using the private key corresponding to the public key. Instances and circumstances of the usages of the data item can be recorded under the token in a blockchain ledger in connection with the retrieval and/or decryption of the cipher text. A data item owner may use the data item and the public key to recreate the cipher text, retrieve the token stored with the cipher text in the separate computer systems, and then query the ledger for a usage history of the data item.

  • Publication number: 20200367333
Abstract: An illumination device and method are provided for controlling light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The LEDs (specifically, the LED loads) are controlled, e.g., brightness and color of the LED loads, independent of a phase-cut dimmer applied to the AC mains feeding a DC power supply. The power supply is active dependent upon the duration of a conduction angle supplied from the dimmer. The power supply, however, produces drive currents that are independent from the conduction angle by using a two-stage power supply and a relatively slow and fast control loops that are controlled through a microprocessor-based control circuit. Parameters stored in the control circuit are drawn by the microprocessor to control the two-stage power supply to produce the drive currents independent and decoupled from the conduction angle yet dependent on the controller parameters.

  • Patent number: 10829616
Abstract: This invention relates to compositions comprised of diene-based elastomers containing an antioxidant comprised of a combination of tris(nonyl phenyl) phosphite (TNPP) and tetramethylethylene diamine (TMEDA). The invention further relates a rubber composition and to a polystyrene composite containing such elastomer compositions. The invention additionally relates to articles of manufacture thereof, including tires and polystyrene based articles. In one embodiment, the invention relates to a process of recovery of diene-based elastomer(s) from an organic solvent solution thereof by steam stripping the organic solvent therefrom in the presence of a combination of the TNPP and TMEDA.

  • Publication number: 20200333178
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a novel method to monitor rotor blade vibration using unsteady casing pressure. The novel method applies a non-intrusive blade vibration monitoring technique by using an array of unsteady pressure sensors flush-mounted in the casing of a multistage axial compressor. The novel method comprises using spinning mode theory to obtain frequency and nodal diameter information for all pressure waves that can be identified and determining any of the pressure waves that is associated with blade vibration.

  • Patent number: 10794088
Abstract: An actuator-controlled electric strike operates in conjunction with a latch having an engaged position to secure a door in a closed state and a released position. The strike comprises a housing defining an entry chamber. A keeper is disposed in the entry chamber about an axis for rotation between a locked position and an unlocked position. A unitized actuator module is provided including a body, a keeper release and an actuator movable between first and second positions. When the actuator is in one of the first or second positions the keeper release is coupled to the keeper and the keeper is secured in the locked position. When the actuator is selectively moved to the other of the first or second positions the keeper release is decoupled from the keeper and the keeper is rotatable to the unlocked position.

  • Publication number: 20200304678
Abstract: A watermark image may be generated that includes a first set of encoded pixels each of which is assigned a first transparency value and a second set of encoded pixels each of which is assigned a second transparency value, the second transparency level being different from the first transparency level. The encoded pixels may be distributed among a set of blank pixels such that each encoded pixel neighbors one or more blank pixels in the watermark image, and in particular at least two blank pixels in the watermark image. Herein, each blank pixel may be assigned the second transparency value. The watermark image may be overlaid and blended over a background source image to create an encoded source image. A decoder system may recover encoded information from the encoded source image.

  • Publication number: 20200288303
Abstract: Alternative pairing is used to enable communication between devices, but without conventional processes required for pairing. Moreover, multiple wireless bonds may be enabled, where both a device is linked to another device and an account is associated with the device and also a backend server. Once an appropriate bond is established, a streaming app (or partial or lightweight version of an application including a selected subset of application functionality) can be streamed to a device such that the user can enter information that can be transmitted to a paired device over the wireless connection. This can enable the association of the device to be performed with respect to the backend servers of the relevant provider. Such an approach can also establish a mechanism for the user to create an account while downloading the full application, or remainder of the application in some embodiments, in the background.

  • Publication number: 20200281058
Abstract: An illumination system and method is provided for readily mapping a plurality of scenes along a dimcurve form a natural show for one or more groups of LED illumination devices. Mapping can be performed using a graphical user interface on a remote controller wirelessly linked to the illumination devices. A keypad is preferably configured for button control of changes to color temperature as a function of brightness along each of the various dimcurves for each of the various groups of illumination devices controlled by a corresponding keypad to allow momentary or persistent override and reprogram of the natural show. Modification to a scene further comprises modifications to scenes before and after the currently modified scene to provide a smoothing dimcurve modification. Global keypad can be used to control multiple zones arranged throughout a structure to switch between a natural show that emulates outdoor sunlight conditions to a panic show when an intruder is detected.
