  • Patent number: 10736187
Abstract: An illumination device and method are provided for controlling light emitting diodes (LEDs). The LEDs (specifically, the LED loads) are controlled, e.g., brightness and color of the LED loads, independent of a phase-cut dimmer applied to the AC mains feeding a DC power supply. The power supply is active dependent upon the duration of a conduction angle supplied from the dimmer. The power supply, however, produces drive currents that are independent from the conduction angle by using a two-stage power supply and a relatively slow and fast control loops that are controlled through a microprocessor based control circuit. Parameters stored in the control circuit are drawn by the microprocessor to control the two-stage power supply to produce the drive currents independent and decoupled from the conduction angle yet dependent on the controller parameters.

  • Publication number: 20200213197
Abstract: A node includes a firmware application that analyzes sensor data to detect and respond to events associated with the distribution of resources. During execution, the firmware application reads a configuration file that specifies a set of conditions and different actions that should be performed in response to different events associated with those conditions. The configuration file can be dynamically updated during execution of the firmware application to modify the set of conditions the firmware application evaluates and the different actions to be performed when occurrences of specific events are detected. Accordingly, the operational behavior of the node can be modified without needing the node to undergo a firmware update.

  • Patent number: 10616439
Abstract: A watermark image may be generated that includes a first set of encoded pixels each of which is assigned a first transparency value and a second set of encoded pixels each of which is assigned a second transparency value, the second transparency level being different from the first transparency level. The encoded pixels may be distributed among a set of blank pixels such that each encoded pixel neighbors one or more blank pixels in the watermark image, and in particular at least two blank pixels in the watermark image. Herein, each blank pixel may be assigned the second transparency value. The watermark image may be overlaid and blended over a background source image to create an encoded source image. A decoder system may recover encoded information from the encoded source image.

  • Patent number: 10582596
Abstract: An illumination device, system and method are provided herein for emulating sunlight along a daytime or nighttime locus. Sunlight is emulated depending on the path length of the sun relative to a structure containing the illumination device and system. One or more illumination devices can be grouped together and perform the sunlight emulation along the locus by producing different color temperatures throughout the day by all illumination devices within that group producing the same color temperature changes throughout the day. Moreover, a particular advantage of the preferred embodiments is the ability to manually change at any time the emulated natural sunlight output from the one or more groups of illumination devices and advantageously change the color output more so at certain times than at other times by simply actuating a trigger on a dimmer associated with a virtual or physical keypad.

  • Patent number: 10563427
Abstract: An integrated adjustable keeper shim for an electric strike is provided. The keeper shim may be included in a keeper assembly of the electric strike, wherein the electric strike includes a housing defining an entry chamber that operates in conjunction with a latch of a lockset. The engaged position of the latch secures a door within the entry chamber when the door is in a closed state. The keeper assembly comprises a keeper rotatably mounted to the housing, and is movable between a locked position and an unlocked position. The keeper retains the latch in the entry chamber when the keeper is in the locked position and the latch is in the engaged position. The keeper shim is adjustably mounted to the keeper, wherein a position of the keeper shim relative to the keeper is selected to minimize a gap defined between the keeper shim and the latch.
