Abstract: An undercarriage track joint assembly includes a first link having a first bore at a first end and a second bore at a second, opposite end, and a second link having a first bore at a first end and a second bore at a second, opposite end. A pin may extend between the first and second links, positioned at least partially within the first bores of the first and second links, or partially within the second bores of the first and second links. A bushing may extend between the first and second links, a central axial bore being defined through the bushing. The pin may extend through the central axial bore through the bushing, the pin being coated with a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating over at least a portion of an outer diameter surface of the pin, the coating providing a contact layer between the outer diameter surface of the pin and an inner diameter surface of the central axial bore through the bushing.

  • Publication number: 20140261259
Abstract: An air-cooled internal combustion engine includes an engine block, a blower assembly including a blower housing and a fan, and a static cover. The static cover includes multiple air intake openings and is configured to prevent user access to a moving component of the engine. The blower housing is configured to at least partially direct air to the engine block. The fan is configured to move air into the blower assembly through the air intake openings when rotating in a first direction in a cooling mode and to move air out of the blower assembly through the air intake openings when rotating in an opposite second direction in a debris-removal mode.

  • Patent number: 8610622
Abstract: An aimed or aiming firearm can be detected before it is able to shoot. Wideband radar signals can be used to identify the barrel of a firearm when the radar antenna and barrel are aiming at or near each other. Signal processing correlates reflected signals to the characteristics of specific firearms of interest, and alerts the user when someone is pointing such a firearm at them. Modern wideband radar systems with fast signal processing speed can enable real-time detection of firearm threats in crowded and cluttered areas before they shoot, which has never before been possible. Related systems, apparatus, methods, and articles are also described.

  • Patent number: 8505949
Abstract: A powered coupling system is configured to interconnect utility lines such as fluid and/or electric lines of a vehicle tractor to a trailer. A curved track is mounted to a frame of the tractor, and the system includes pneumatic and/or electrical connectors that move along the curved track to align the connectors with a corresponding connectors on a trailer. A linear actuator causes the connectors on the tractor to shift vertically to connect and disconnect the connectors on the tractor to connectors on the trailer. The curved track permits alignment of the connectors on the tractor with the connectors on the trailer even if the trailer is not in a straight line with the tractor.

  • Patent number: 8322269
Abstract: Disclosed herein are stabilized weapon mount systems that allow a gunner (i.e. operator of a weapon) to mount and operate a standard weapon in a manner similar to a stand-alone weapon while compensating for the motion of the platform. The system includes an aiming gimbal that is movable by an operator during stabilization into an aiming orientation directed toward a target and a stabilization gimbal nested within the aiming gimbal and adapted to securely couple to a weapon. The stabilization gimbal and aiming gimbal are mechanically coupled by a control unit such that the stabilization gimbal is moved by the control unit and the aiming gimbal is not moved by the control unit. A stabilization device automatically commands the control unit to move the stabilization gimbal relative to the aiming gimbal using the motors to correct for the base movement and maintain the aiming orientation directed toward the target.

  • Patent number: 8280834
Abstract: A method for monitoring a system includes receiving a first data asset from the system, receiving a configuration file, determining whether the configuration file includes the first data asset and an associated first rule engine logic identifier, and running a first rule engine associated with the first rule engine logic identifier responsive to determining that the configuration file includes the first data asset and the associated first rule engine logic identifier. The method also includes sending the first data asset to the first rule engine, receiving a first result from the first rule engine, and sending the first result to a display for presentation to a user.
