  • Publication number: 20040075174
Abstract: A supplemental capacitor is formed using the large capacitance between the wirings (M11 and M12) and that between the through-holes (B11 and B12) because of downsizing of the process technique. The inter-wiring capacitor and inter-through-hole capacitor can be arranged at any optional position within the semiconductor device. The supplemental capacitor can be easily formed in the vicinity of the area-where switching noise is generated, thereby effectively realizing the countermeasure for power source noise. In the process technique with advanced downsizing, a capacitor having large capacitance can be formed with a smaller area. In addition, the capacitor can be formed in the same process as the other device such as a transistor without adding any special step.

  • Publication number: 20040050133
Abstract: A cold roll forming method for reducing the diameter of a metal pipe and a metal pipe product having the diameter reduced by such method are disclosed, wherein the method includes the steps of passing a raw metal pipe through a set of pre-forming rolls so that it can be pre-formed into an intermediate metal pipe having an elliptic, elongated circular or rectangular cross-sectional shape and then passing the intermediate metal pipe through a set of diameter-reducing rolls disposed on the downstream side of the set of pre-forming rolls so that it can have its outer circumferential length reduced to a smaller length than the outer peripheral length of the raw metal pipe while at the same time it can be re-formed into the circular cross-sectional shape or any other cross-sectional shape different from the cross-sectional shape of the intermediate metal pipe.

  • Publication number: 20030231559
Abstract: High speed access to an information recording medium is made possible by preparing information relative to a lower level recording unit, e.g., a fragment, the magnitude of which is set smaller than a higher level recording unit, e.g., a session in the information recording medium. A fragment identifier, typically, a fragment number is assigned to each fragment, sequentially and in ascending order. A fragment number (greatest fragment number) that is greater than any other fragment number in the session is recorded in the information recording medium for each session.

  • Patent number: 6608455
Abstract: A driving apparatus is provided for a vibration type motor which obtains a driving force by applying a periodic signal to an electro-mechanical energy conversion element portion of the vibration type motor. When the driven amount of the vibration type motor is small, the vibration type motor is driven by a high voltage in a frequency range with a high lower limit as compared with a case wherein the driven amount is not small, thereby making it possible to realize high-speed focusing and suppress electric power consumption.

  • Patent number: 6317564
Abstract: A camera includes a plurality of camera operation mechanisms, a sun gear which rotates by means of a motor, a planetary gear which revolves around the sun gear, and a plurality of output gears each capable of meshing with the planetary gear by means of revolution of the planetary gear. The plurality of output gears transmit power to the plurality of camera operation mechanisms, respectively. A holding member is switchable from a first state, in which the planetary gear is allowed to revolve freely, to a second state, in which the planetary gear is held at a revolution position where the planetary gear is in mesh with one of the plurality of output gears. A controller causes the planetary gear to revolve so as to mesh with a selected one of the plurality of output gears, and switches the holding member from the first state to the second state, after completion of a power transmitting operation.

The plurality of output gears transmit power to the plurality of camera operation mechanisms, respectively. An unlocking device removes backlash by causing the planetary gear to rotate temporarily in an opposite direction when the planetary gear is to be switched from one of the plurality of output gears in mesh therewith, to another one of the plurality of output gears. A locking device prevents the planetary gear and such one output gear from coming out of mesh with each other until the backlash is removed when the unlocking device causes the planetary gear to rotate in the opposite direction.
