    Abstract: A display device includes a liquid crystal panel and an optical module. A first light guide plate of a back-light unit may be disposed between the optical module and the liquid crystal panel. The liquid crystal panel may include a sensing area for detecting external light. The optical module may include a second light guide plate overlapping with the sensing area of the liquid crystal panel, and an optical device disposed on a path of external light passing through the first light guide plate and the second light guide plate. The optical module may include a light source device disposed on at least one of sides that are perpendicular to an upper surface of the second light guide plate toward the first light guide plate. Thus, in the display apparatus, the external light may be detected by the optical device, without deteriorating quality of an image provided to a user.
