  • Patent number: 10889548
Abstract: The invention provides therapeutic compositions that contain an inhibitor of dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) and promote sustained elevation of dihydroorotate (DHO) levels in a patient. The compositions are useful for treating disorders associated with unregulated DHODH activity, such as acute myeloid leukemia. The invention also provides methods of determining therapeutically effective doses of compositions that contain a DHODH inhibitor. The invention further provides methods of synthesis of 2-(2?-halo-1-1?-biphenyl-4-yl)-quinoline carboxylic acids, which are useful as DHODH inhibitors.

  • Publication number: 20200401598
Abstract: A dynamically self-indexing database-management system selects database indexes associated with table columns that are most frequently accessed by user queries, deleting all other indexes. The system periodically reviews database-performance figures and data-usage patterns for each table of its database and revises its selection of indexes in order to ensure that only the most frequently accessed columns continue to be indexed and that the omission of other indexes does not degrade performance. The total number of selected indexes, the overall percent of selected indexes, or the selection itself is optimized over time through continued monitoring of database transaction logs. Optimization may comprise cognitive analytics or other methods of artificial intelligence by which the system learns over time how to best determine whether its current selection of indexes is likely to provide the best overall performance.

  • Patent number: 10750370
Abstract: A first hardware component identifier may be read for a first hardware component of a computing device. The reading of the first hardware component identifier for the first hardware component may be performed by a processor of the computing device reading a read-only memory of the first hardware component. A second hardware component identifier and an alert indicator over a network may be received. The second hardware component identifier and the alert indicator may correspond with the first hardware component. The first hardware component identifier may be compared with the second hardware component identifier. The computing device may be disabled when the first hardware component identifier matches the second hardware component identifier and the alert indicator indicates that the first hardware component has been reported stolen.

  • Patent number: 10743865
Abstract: An apparatus capable of and a corresponding method for subcuticular suturing of an incision in a single pass is provided. The apparatus includes a straight needle, a suture thread extending from a free end of the needle, and a grip couplable to or pre-attached to the needle. The grip is used for controlling, manipulating, and advancing the needle and its sharp end through the incision. The needle is generally long enough to pierce and bind both sides of the incision together without having to pull the entire needle and any slack in the suture thread through each piercing prior to proceeding to the next piercing. The needle holds the entire incision closed presets the entire path for the suture thread prior to pulling the suture thread through the incision to hold the incision closed.

  • Patent number: 10737265
Abstract: A device and methodology for concomitant ejection and suction of a perfusate (CESOP) within a region of interest without spillover of the perfusate to a juxtaposed anatomical region. An inflow line, connected to a perfusate cistern, is coupled to an outflow line, connected to outflow control mechanisms, via an elongate rigid support. Perfusate can flow through the inflow line to the region of interest, and nearly simultaneously, the outflow line can suction the perfusate out of the region of interest. The amount of time that the perfusate remains in the region of interest is sufficient to take effect in the region of interest. The rigid support helps control the inflow and outflow lines. A micromanipulator can also be used to control the lines and application tip thereof. Either or both lines may also have adjustable flow rates therethrough and may include stoppers/regulators.

  • Patent number: 10659113
Abstract: A source wireless access node serves User Equipment (UEs) over a Three-Dimensional (3D) Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) antenna array and over a Two-Dimensional (2D) MIMO antenna array. The source wireless access node wirelessly exchanges user data with the UEs over the 3D MIMO antenna array. The source wireless access node detects a loss-of-synchronization. The source wireless access node detects an interference condition at neighbor wireless access nodes. When the interference condition at the neighbor wireless access nodes and the loss-of-synchronization at the source wireless access node occur simultaneously, the source wireless access node network disables the 3D MIMO antenna array and wirelessly exchanges additional user data with the UEs over the 2D MIMO antenna array. When the neighbor interference condition or the loss-of-synchronization terminate, the source wireless access node enables and uses the 3D MIMO antenna array.

  • Publication number: 20200082917
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to systems, methods, and user interfaces for providing voice-activated ambulance booking. Initially, a non-medical user initiates a workflow, via a voice command, that enables the user to provide information about a patient that can be utilized to prioritize the booking of ambulances for patients. Upon providing the initial voice command, the workflow is provided, via a user interface of the user device. The workflow comprises a series of questions corresponding to a status of the patient that can easily be answered merely by observing the patient (e.g., is the patient conscious, is the patient breathing, is the patient bleeding). Based on responses provided by the user, an ambulance is requested for the patient. User device vitals including battery charge levels and signal strength can be used to resolve conflicts if multiple requests are made.

  • Publication number: 20190258606
Abstract: An approach for generating an index in Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) source files. The approach determines one or more similar index entries of a prioritized index. The approach determines a fraternal association exists between at least two of the one or more similar index entries when at least one of the one or more similar index entries occur with one or more similar high priority index entries. Responsive to a determination that a fraternal association exists between at least two of the one or more similar index entries, the approach determines whether an inheritance from a parent exists. The approach determines based, at least in part, on whether a fraternal association exists and whether an inheritance from a parent exists, a Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) index.
