  • Publication number: 20210251622
Abstract: A staple-suture combination that includes a plurality of anchors, wherein each of the anchors are constructed from suture material and a cinching stitch such that the cinching stitch can be pulled thereby causing the suture material to cinch up and secure the anchor below the cortex of a bone and further including a mattress stitch that extends over a surface of a section of tissue thereby securing the tissue to the bone. The cinching stitch and/or the mattress stitch including barbs on an outer surface prevent the cinching stitch and/or mattress stitch from loosening.

  • Publication number: 20210157793
Abstract: This disclosure describes systems and methods for employing interlinking multiple independent and separately-scalable blockchains to create globally verifiable unique identifiers. The disclosed systems and methods facilitate the creation of the globally verifiable unique identifiers to a level of scalability unattainable without employing the underlying two-dimensional blockchain structure, metadata, and cryptographic information stored on the blockchain. Moreover, the system avoids collisions and name conflicts among the globally verifiable unique identifiers, supports post-creation verification of the globally verifiable unique identifiers, and provides a variety of ancillary functions using the globally verifiable unique identifiers.

  • Patent number: 10808382
Abstract: A system and method for preventing a run-away state of an industrial machine. Joints of the industrial machine are monitored in order to determine if the industrial machine is in danger of entering a run-away state. If a joint parameter exceeds a threshold value, which is indicative of the potential to enter a run-away state, then a force or torque limit is increased so that the industrial machine has additional force or torque to slow down the industrial machine when decelerating. This additional torque prevents the industrial machine from entering the run-away state.

  • Patent number: 10743459
Abstract: A hand-held spreader is provided having a housing with a compartment for particulate material, a chamber below the compartment having a bottom wall with a circular aperture, an impeller mounted for rotation in the chamber along such bottom wall responsive to a hand crank, a discharge opening, and a path along which the particulate material passes into the chamber for discharge via the discharge opening. The impeller has an outer circular periphery proximal to and extending over an outer edge of the aperture to form a gap between the impeller and the bottom wall of the chamber that seals the gap from the particulate material larger than the gap from entering under the impeller and risking obstruction of impeller rotation. Any particulate material that enters the gap passes downward through the aperture to enable self-cleaning of particulate material that would otherwise collect under the impeller in the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20180188196
Abstract: A multi-component fluid composition and concentration sensor system and method. The system can be configured with multiple sensing elements whereby each specifically responds to different combinations and concentrations of multiple fluid component mixtures. Because these responses can be captured and committed to a lookup table during an initial calibration sequence, subsequent measurements of unknown mixtures of the same gases will match known states found in the lookup table and the fluid concentrations can be deduced. The number of sensing elements with unique responses to the fluid mixtures should equal the number of unknown fluids that are active on the sensing surfaces, similar to how solving for multiple variables requires no fewer equations than there are unknowns, i.e. “3 equations and 3 variables.

  • Patent number: 9643448
Abstract: A moistening system that significantly reduces the problems caused by contaminants in the moistening fluid is provided. The catch basin of a moistening system is provided with a filter that reduces the amount of contaminants contained in the recycled moistening fluid. Additionally, the moistening fluid is buffered with an acid that acts to dissolve the paper filler and other soluble debris that may be introduced into the moistening fluid, thereby significantly decreasing any blinding of components of the moistening system that would otherwise reduce the flow rate of the moistening fluid through the system. These ensure that sufficient moistening fluid is applied to the envelope flaps, which results in consistent and complete sealing of the envelope flaps.

  • Patent number: 9625245
Abstract: Provided is a weighted anchor for a tape measure. The device includes a tubular housing with a defined interior volume for holding one or more magnetic weights therein. The weights are positioned around an elevator bolt disposed within the interior volume, then secured within the interior volume via a washer and a bolt. In this way, the weights are arranged in a stacked orientation. The housing can be secured to an end of a standard tape measure, thereby weighing down the same. In this way, the present invention can prevent the tape measure from swinging or otherwise oscillating when measuring long distances.

  • Patent number: 9168805
Abstract: A hydraulic system for lowering the ride height of a vehicle includes at least one hydraulic shock mounted to the suspension of the vehicle. Each of the hydraulic shocks has a floating bearing in the hydraulic shock, and an inlet. The inlet is hydraulically connected to a central manifold that is adapted to move fluid into and out of the hydraulic shock for moving the floating bearing in each of the hydraulic shocks. When the floating bearing is moved in the hydraulic shock, the hydraulic shock shortens thereby lowering the ride height of the vehicle.
