  • Patent number: 6839690
Abstract: An Internet-based system that allows a buyer and a seller to obtain information about each other while remaining somewhat anonymous. The system provides historic information to buyer and seller by having a trusted third party give the buyer and seller the other party's trading history information without revealing the actual identity of the parties. A buyer registers with the trusted third party by submitting an online application. The trusted third party establishes a credit score for the buyer. A seller registers with the trusted third party by submitting an online application. The trusted third party establishes a score for the seller based upon the seller's trading history, reputation and financial standing. When the buyer chooses to purchase a product from a seller over the Internet, certain parameters i.e., dollar value of transaction, type of purchase, level of current outstanding credit available, credit score, etc.

  • Patent number: 6744858
Abstract: A system and method for routing calls from multiple call centers using remote terminals for receiving incoming calls, a wide area network interfaced with the remote terminals, and a central data manager configured to receive the incoming calls from a communication network and to route them to the remote terminals over the wide area network. The remote terminals enable operators to receive incoming calls and to dispatch personnel in response to the incoming calls. Each of the incoming calls is associated with an automatic number identification identifying a communication device from which the incoming call originated. Additionally, each of the incoming calls is routed over the wide area network to a particular remote terminal based on the associated automatic number identification of the incoming call.

  • Patent number: 6546611
Abstract: An anti-spin and drift device and installation method for railway plug type car doors that prevents unintentional rapid rotation of the center door operation handle caused by accidental movement of the door. The anti-spin device rapid rotation in both directions and replaces existing pinion gear assemblies and one-directional anti-spin assemblies that interlink the operational handle with the door operating mechanism that activates multiple crank rod assemblies for opening and closing the doors.

  • Patent number: 6437728
Abstract: A target recognition system and method wherein only target amplitude data, i.e., coherent A-scan data, is interrogated at each of a plurality of range resolution cells along the radar line of sight path for target recognition. Target aspect angle is ignored within the angular segmentation of the feature library without degrading classification performance. Observed signature characteristics are collected at various aspect angles and through unknown roll, pitch and yaw motions of each anticipated target and provided to a neural network as training sets. The neural network forms feature vectors for each target class which are useful for valid classification comparisons in all sea states, especially in calm and littoral waters. These feature vectors are useful for valid classification comparisons over at least 30 degrees of target aspect angle.

Target aspect angle is ignored within the angular segmentation of the feature library without degrading classification performance. Observed signature characteristics are collected at various aspect angles and through unknown and arbitrary roll, pitch and yaw motions of each anticipated target and provided to a neural network as training sets.
