  • Publication number: 20220413785
Abstract: An infotainment system for a motor vehicle includes a display screen positioned to be visible by a passenger of the motor vehicle. A storage arrangement stores a collection of video segments to be presented on the display screen. The storage arrangement also stores metadata in association with the video segments. A user interface receives inputs from the passenger. A sensor detects a characteristic of the passenger. A processing arrangement is communicatively coupled to each of the display screen, the collection of video segments, the user interface and the sensor. The processing arrangement selects one of the video segments to present on the display screen. The selecting of the one video segment is dependent upon inputs received from the passenger via the user interface, signals received from the sensor indicative of the characteristic of the passenger, and metadata associated with individual segments.

  • Publication number: 20200184238
Abstract: A motor vehicle includes a loudspeaker disposed within a passenger compartment of the vehicle approximately between an occupant's seat of the vehicle and a space of interest disposed outside of the vehicle. A camera is positioned to capture images of a face of an occupant of the vehicle. A processing device receives the images captured by the camera, and determines from the images that the occupant is not looking at the space of interest disposed outside of the passenger compartment. In response to the determining that the driver is not looking at the space of interest disposed outside of the passenger compartment, the processing device causes a sound to be emitted from the loudspeaker.

  • Publication number: 20200174916
Abstract: A method of validating a design for a graphical user interface of a motor vehicle includes creating a tentative design, and/or a few drafts or prototype for the graphical user interface. A blurred version of the tentative graphical user interface design is produced. The blurred version of the tentative graphical user interface design is tested for readability and whether the overall GUI design is suited to be perceived at a glance. If it is determined that the blurred version of the tentative graphical user interface design is not readable or understandable, then the graphical user interface is redesigned and the producing and testing steps are repeated for the redesigned graphical user interface. After the blurred graphical user interface design has been determined to be readable, then a higher fidelity graphical user interface is made.

  • Publication number: 20200111445
Abstract: A head up display arrangement is fix a motor vehicle having a human driver. A light source emits a light field including a first color such that the light field is visible to the driver as a virtual image. A light sensor detects a second color that is visible to the driver in a forward direction of the vehicle in an ambient environment outside of the vehicle. An electronic processor is communicatively coupled to both the light source and the light sensor. The processor changes the first color in the light field to a third color. The third color is dependent upon the second color.

  • Patent number: 9971342
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a pattern data creating method includes a calculation process, a determination process, and a correction process. In the calculation process, it is calculated a stress distribution of stresses that are applied to a template when a distance between the template and a substrate on which resist are disposed is predetermined, the template including a template pattern. In the determination process, it is determined whether or not there is a stress concentration spot in the template pattern at which a stress value larger than a predetermined criterion value is to appear. If the stress concentration spot is present, in the correction process, it is a corrected pattern data of the template pattern such that the stress value at the stress concentration spot becomes a stress value not larger than the predetermined criterion value.

  • Publication number: 20180024709
Abstract: A motor vehicle infotainment system includes a user interface having a loudspeaker. The user interface receives a request from a driver to access a social media web site. An electronic processor accesses postings on the social media web site, and discerns first ones of the postings having primarily graphic aspects from second ones of the postings not having primarily graphic aspects. Only the ones of the postings not having primarily graphic aspects are presented to the driver via the loudspeaker.

  • Publication number: 20170303037
Abstract: The inventive EAL may generally enhance a driver's spatial awareness by providing the driver with intuitive/familiar audible warnings with directionality which can be enhanced with visual warnings as well as other technologies such as ANC and Zoned audio. Thus, the driver can understand the meaning of the warning and where it is coming from so he can react to it faster. In a specific embodiment, a motor vehicle includes a plurality of outside microphones mounted in association with an outer surface of the vehicle. A plurality of loudspeakers are disposed within the passenger compartment of the vehicle. A processing device identifies a sound of interest in microphone signals received from the outside microphones. It is determined from the microphone signals a direction in which the sound of interest is traveling. This may also be done with sensors, GPS, V2X, etc.
