    Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for onboarding one or more Multi-AP devices using a device provisioning protocol (DPP) and a Multi-AP communication protocol. In one aspect, a first Multi-AP device may determine, during an onboarding process, DPP configuration information that was derived using the DPP. The first Multi-AP device may establish a Multi-AP network configuration between the first Multi-AP device and a second Multi-AP device using the Multi-AP communication protocol based, at least in part, on the DPP configuration information. In one aspect, the DPP configuration information may be derived remotely by the network operator prior to device deployment. In one aspect, a configurator station (STA) may be delegated as the DPP configurator by the network operator, and may onboard one or more STAs into the Multi-AP network using the DPP and the Multi-AP communication protocol.

Thus, devices can transmit an SR over shared SR resources related to one or more received identifiers for obtaining an uplink grant. This can decrease delay associated with receiving uplink grants since the device need not wait for dedicated SR resources before transmitting the SR. In addition, overhead can be decreased on control channels, as compared to signaling dedicated SR resources and/or uplink grants. Moreover, identifiers related to SR resources can correspond to a grouping of devices, such that a device can transmit over shared SR resources related to a group including the device.

In some embodiments, uplink reporting for multiflow operation utilizes packet level splitting where the UE groups buffers for all LCGs into a common pool for uplink reporting. In packet level splitting embodiments, the UE may perform uplink reporting based on the total amount of data available for transmission in the common buffer pool or by applying scaling coefficients associated with the serving cells. Some embodiments manage mapping of logical channel payloads to uplink grants for multiflow operation.

In one aspect, a serving AP selection unit can steer a device (such as a client station, STA, or a child AP) based on a quality of service profile (such as a capacity requirement or a delay requirement) of the device. The device may be initially associated with a first AP (as the current serving AP) in the network. The serving AP selection unit may select a second AP as a new serving AP for the device, and cause the device to associate with the second AP rather than the first AP. The selection of a serving AP may take into account delay or hop count in addition to path capacities for various paths in the network.

In one aspect, a first AP can obtain per-AP metric information regarding a plurality of other APs in the network. The per-AP metric information may include backhaul performance information regarding at least one wireless backhaul channel in the network. The per-AP metric information may include an estimated air time fraction value reported by the other APs. A selection to steer the device from the first AP to a second AP can be based, at least in part, on the per-AP metric information. In some implementations, a Multi-AP Controller can redistribute per-AP metric information collected from multiple APs in the network. In some implementations, a topology of the network may be optimized by steering a child AP to another wireless backhaul link.

The disassociation message may identify the second AP associated with the client device and cause the client device to disassociate from the second AP. After the client device disassociates from the second AP, the client device may select and associate with the first AP. In particular, a robust header compression (RoHC) profile can be defined for general packet radio service (GPRS) tunneling protocol (GTP) headers. Upon receiving a packet with one or more GTP headers, an access point or relay node can determine whether the one or more GTP headers are compressible and can apply the RoHC profile to compress the one or more GTP headers. In addition, the packet can include a baseheader encapsulated by the one or more GTP headers, which can also be compressed according to a RoHC profile specific to the baseheader. In an aspect, a base station may periodically schedule transmission resources for use by a user equipment (UE) for transmitting data on a logical channel, wherein the periodically scheduling grants the UE a fixed first transport block (TB) size of transmission resources at regular intervals, receive an indication from the UE of an amount of data for transmission on the logical channel, and adjust the fixed first TB size of the periodically scheduled transmission resources to a fixed second TB size based on the indicated amount of data. In another aspect, a base station may configure a UE to enable scheduling request masking (SR-masking) on a logical channel, and configure the UE with a threshold amount of data for the logical channel to dynamically disable SR-masking on the logical channel.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses are disclosed to facilitate wireless communications. User equipment (UE), such as a mobile device, identifies data congestion and transmits a recommended data rate modification wireless signal (e.g., a recommended reduced data rate) to the base station that is transmitting data to the UE. The base station may reduce the data rate of the down link (DL) to the reduced data rate. The UE may then receive data from the base station at the reduced data rate. Therefore, flow control may be implemented at the base station side (e.g., sometimes referred to as the Network (NW) side) based upon the reduced data rate modification determined and transmitted by the UE to the base station. In this way, the data rate transmission to the UE can be reduced to allow the UE to successfully process received data and successfully perform its functions.
