  • Publication number: 20240147390
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for wireless communication by a station generally including obtaining a frame that includes a partial representation of a target time value, wherein the target time value is based on a portion of a current time synchronization function (TSF) value associated with when the frame was obtained, adjusting the portion of the current TSF value if a recovered value for the target time value represents a time in the past, and recovering the target time value based on the partial representation of the target time value and the adjusted portion of the current TSF value.

  • Publication number: 20240135231
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, components, devices and systems for use of a reinforcement learning (RL) model to obtain one or more parameters associated with a channel access procedure. Some aspects more specifically relate to mechanisms according to which a wireless communication device may receive information associated with the RL model and transmit a protocol data unit (PDU) during a slot that is based on an output of the model. The wireless communication device may use the RL model to perform a distributed channel access procedure in accordance with the information and may further transmit the PDU, during the slot that is based on the output of the RL model, in accordance with the distributed channel access procedure. The information associated with the RL model may indicate or configure the RL model or may indicate whether the wireless communication is allowed to retrain the RL model.

  • Publication number: 20240137860
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods and devices for introducing a power save protocol (for example, a lower power mode) for a multi-link devices (MLDs). Some aspects more specifically relate to reducing power consumption in an access point (AP) MLD, and more particularly, to a power save protocol (or a lower power mode) for an AP MLD. In some aspects, an AP MLD may initiate a lower power mode to save power for as long as possible while still maintaining minimal receive (RX) and transmit (TX) functionality. When requested by an associated station (STA), the AP MLD may then transition from the lower power mode to a higher power mode with full RX and TX functionality with a minimal delay. The described techniques may also account for trade-offs and constraints which arise due to different use cases and scenarios as well as different device configurations.

  • Publication number: 20240137978
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus for managing data traffic in restricted target wake time (TWT) service periods (SPs). In some aspects, an access point (AP) receives a request frame from a wireless station (STA) associated with a client device via a peer-to-peer (P2P) link, the request frame indicating the STA intends to exchange P2P communications with the client device during a r-TWT SP scheduled on a wireless medium. The AP obtains a transmission opportunity (TXOP) on the wireless medium during the r-TWT SP, the request frame identifying the client device. The AP transmits a trigger frame on the wireless medium responsive to obtaining the TXOP, the trigger frame allocating a portion of the obtained TXOP for P2P communications between the STA and the client device, wherein at least one of the response frame or the trigger frame indicates a Network Allocation Vector (NAV) exception for the client device.

  • Publication number: 20240137980
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, components, devices and systems for coordinated spatial reuse (C-SR) framework for ultra-high reliability (UHR). Some aspects more specifically relate to one or more mechanisms according to which access points (APs) may coordinate with each other in accordance with a C-SR framework. In some implementations, a first access point (AP) may conditionally share a transmission opportunity (TXOP) for the first AP with a second AP in accordance with an interference management procedure between the first AP (and any one or more client devices of the first AP) and the second AP (and any one or more client devices of the second AP). For example, the first AP and the second AP may support one or more frame exchanges associated with an interference measurement and the second AP may share the TXOP if the second AP satisfies a transmit power constraint associated with the interference measurement.

  • Publication number: 20240129960
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for synchronized channel access. Some implementations more specifically relate to facilitating coexistence among wireless communication devices that support synchronized channel access and those that do not. A group of access points may schedule periodically recurring, synchronized channel access periods by periodically transmitting quiet elements. The quiet elements establish recurring quiet periods during which legacy devices are not permitted to transmit. In some implementations, an access point may transmit one or more quiet override elements each associated with a respective quiet element and indicating to other access points supporting synchronized channel access that they are permitted to contend for access during the respective quiet period.

  • Patent number: 11963155
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for sharing resources of a wireless medium. Particular implementations relate more specifically to coordinated AP (CAP) time-division-multiple-access (TDMA) and orthogonal-frequency-division-multiple access (OFDMA) techniques for sharing the time or frequency resources of a transmission opportunity (TXOP). According to such techniques, an AP that wins contention and gains access to the wireless medium for the duration of a TXOP may share its time or frequency resources with other selected APs. To share its resources, the winning AP may partition the TXOP into multiple time or frequency segments each including respective time or frequency resources representing a portion of the TXOP, and allocate each of the time or frequency segments to itself or to one of the selected APs.

  • Publication number: 20240097840
Abstract: Aspects relate to multi-link communication. In some examples, a communication frame carries a multi-link information element (ML IE). The ML IE includes a bitmap and one or more information sub-elements. In some examples, the bitmap indicates the links of a set of radio links to which the information sub-elements apply. In some examples, a frame may carry multiple ML IEs. In some examples, different ML IEs in the same frame may include the same bitmap, where the different ML IEs may carry different information sub-elements for the radio links indicated by the bitmap. In some examples, an ML IE serves to indicate that information sub-elements that are located in the frame body of the frame at a location that precedes the ML IE in the frame body apply to different radio links than the radio links indicated by the bitmap of the ML IE.

  • Publication number: 20240088958
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first wireless device (e.g., station (STA), access point (AP)) may transmit to a second wireless device during a service period, an initiating frame using a transmit beam that is based on a first beam training procedure performed between the devices prior to the service period. The first wireless device may perform a second beam training procedure during the service period based on an absence of a response frame from the second wireless device, based on an indication within the response frame received from the second wireless device, or based on identification of a change in a wireless channel relative to a previous beam training interval or previous service period. The first wireless device may then communicate one or more messages with the second wireless device using one or more beams that are based on the second beam training procedure.

  • Publication number: 20240089730
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems that facilitate mobility of wireless communication devices configured for multi-link operation (MLO). Particular aspects more specifically relate to facilitating fast basic service set (BSS) transitions by wireless communication devices that support MLO. For example, some aspects provide support for station (STA) multi-link device (MLD) roaming between access point (AP) MLDs, from an AP MLD to a non-MLO AP, or from a non-MLO AP to an AP MLD. In some aspects, a STA MLD may be configured to use a medium access control (MAC) service access point address (MAC-SAP address) of the AP MLD when re-associating or communicating with a legacy AP or with an AP MLD. In such aspects, the MAC-SAP address may be used by all STAs of the non-AP MLD for fast BSS transitions.

  • Publication number: 20240090046
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for wireless communication, including coordinated time domain multiple access (C-TDMA) among access points (APs) with different channels. In one aspect, while using C-TDMA, a first AP may receive a control message with scheduling information for a transmission opportunity (TXOP) from a second AP, which is the TXOP owner. The second AP may operate in a certain bandwidth, and first AP may operate in an overlapping portion of the same bandwidth, and also a different portion of bandwidth. The scheduling information may indicate a portion of the TXOP for the first AP to use during the TXOP. During the portion of the TXOP for the first AP, the first AP may perform a clear channel assessment (CCA) for the overlapping and non-overlapping portions, and transmit on both the overlapping and different bandwidths during the TXOP.
