  • Patent number: 12108467
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for synchronized channel access. Some implementations more specifically relate to facilitating coexistence among wireless communication devices that support synchronized channel access and those that do not. A group of access points may schedule periodically recurring, synchronized channel access periods by periodically transmitting quiet elements. The quiet elements establish recurring quiet periods during which legacy devices are not permitted to transmit. In some implementations, an access point may transmit one or more quiet override elements each associated with a respective quiet element and indicating to other access points supporting synchronized channel access that they are permitted to contend for access during the respective quiet period.

  • Publication number: 20240305987
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, components, devices and systems for wireless packet header protection. Some aspects more specifically relate to supporting header integrity checks to prevent processing of maliciously altered packet headers. In some examples, a wireless communication device may generate header integrity check information based on one or more fields of a header of a first data packet. The wireless communication device may generate, based on the header integrity check information, the first data packet or a second data packet. For example, the header of the first data packet may include the header integrity check information, or a value derived therefrom. Alternatively, the header integrity check information (or the derived value) may be included in a subsequently transmitted packet (e.g., the second data packet) A receiving device may use the received header integrity check information to perform a header integrity check before processing the header of the first data packet.

  • Publication number: 20240292456
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, components, devices and systems for transmission opportunity (TXOP) sharing and resource allocation mechanisms in systems involving multiple peer-to-peer (P2P) sessions. Some aspects more specifically relate to how such mechanisms can facilitate multi-station (STA) TXOP sharing or STA offloading in accordance with relative resource availabilities across a set of access points (APs), or any combination thereof. In some implementations, an AP can allocate respective portions of a resource unit (RU) allocation (during a shared TXOP of the AP) to respective P2P sessions at multiple respective STAs. Additionally, or alternatively, an AP can use transmit power control to facilitate simultaneous TXOP sharing across multiple STAs. Additionally, or alternatively, first AP can offload a STA to a second AP in accordance with relative resource availabilities at the first AP and the second AP. As such, devices may achieve greater scalability for high-density P2P session deployments.

  • Publication number: 20240259059
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first wireless device (e.g., station (STA), access point (AP)) may transmit to a second wireless device during a service period, an initiating frame using a transmit beam that is based on a first beam training procedure performed between the devices prior to the service period. The first wireless device may perform a second beam training procedure during the service period based on an absence of a response frame from the second wireless device, based on an indication within the response frame received from the second wireless device, or based on identification of a change in a wireless channel relative to a previous beam training interval or previous service period. The first wireless device may then communicate one or more messages with the second wireless device using one or more beams that are based on the second beam training procedure.

  • Patent number: 12047873
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for protecting latency-sensitive communications among multi-link devices (MLDs). An access point (AP) MLD may establish multiple communication links with a non-AP MLD and schedule a restricted target wake time (r-TWT) service period (SP) on one of the links (the “r-TWT link”). In some aspects, when a transmit opportunity (TXOP) acquired on a non-r-TWT link overlaps the r-TWT SP, the TXOP may be extended to support an exchange of latency-sensitive traffic on the non-r-TWT link. In some other aspects, any TXOPs occurring on non-r-TWT links may be terminated prior to the start of the r-TWT SP so that latency-sensitive traffic can be exchanged on the r-TWT link during the SP. An AP MLD also may schedule SPs on multiple communication links. In some aspects, the AP MLD may transfer a TWT agreement between the communication links.

  • Publication number: 20240236844
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods and devices for introducing a power save protocol (for example, a lower power mode) for a multi-link devices (MLDs). Some aspects more specifically relate to reducing power consumption in an access point (AP) MLD, and more particularly, to a power save protocol (or a lower power mode) for an AP MLD. In some aspects, an AP MLD may initiate a lower power mode to save power for as long as possible while still maintaining minimal receive (RX) and transmit (TX) functionality. When requested by an associated station (STA), the AP MLD may then transition from the lower power mode to a higher power mode with full RX and TX functionality with a minimal delay. The described techniques may also account for trade-offs and constraints which arise due to different use cases and scenarios as well as different device configurations.

  • Publication number: 20240237065
Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, components, devices and systems for coordinated spatial reuse (C-SR) framework for ultra-high reliability (UHR). Some aspects more specifically relate to one or more mechanisms according to which access points (APs) may coordinate with each other in accordance with a C-SR framework. In some implementations, a first access point (AP) may conditionally share a transmission opportunity (TXOP) for the first AP with a second AP in accordance with an interference management procedure between the first AP (and any one or more client devices of the first AP) and the second AP (and any one or more client devices of the second AP). For example, the first AP and the second AP may support one or more frame exchanges associated with an interference measurement and the second AP may share the TXOP if the second AP satisfies a transmit power constraint associated with the interference measurement.
