  • Publication number: 20160256697
Abstract: A method is provided for establishing a communication session with an implantable medical device (“IMD”). The method includes configuring an IMD and an external device to communicate with one another through a protocol that utilizes a dedicated advertisement channel. The advertisement period and the scan period of the protocol are independent of one another such that the advertisement and scan periods at least partially overlap intermittently after a number of cycles. When the external device detects one of the advertisement notices, the method includes establishing a communications link between the external device and the IMD.

  • Publication number: 20160241685
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for optimizing Robust Header Compression (RoHC) to protect against context desynchronization resulting from a burst of lost packets. In one embodiment, a method of operation of a radio node to adapt a RoHC compressor of a radio node based on a transmit channel quality metric is provided. In another embodiment, systems and methods relating to improved RoHC SN decoding are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of operation of a radio node includes determining a size of a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) Sequence Number (SN) gap for a radio link between the radio node and a second radio node, and performing RoHC SN decoding based on the size of the PDCP SN gap.

  • Publication number: 20160188350
Abstract: In an example, a computing device may include a trusted execution environment (TEE) for executing signed and verified code. The device may receive a trusted binary object in a first form, but the object may need to be converted to a second format, either on-the-fly, or in advance. This may include, for example, a bytecode interpreter, script interpreter, runtime engine, compiler, just-in-time compiler, or other species of binary translator. The binary translator may be run from the TEE, and the output may then be signed by the TEE and treated as a new trusted binary.

  • Publication number: 20160188873
Abstract: In an example, a computing device includes a trusted execution environment (TEE), including an enclave. The enclave may include both a binary translation engine (BTE) and an input verification engine (IVE). In one embodiment, the IVE receives a trusted binary as an input, and analyzes the trusted binary to identify functions, classes, and variables that perform input/output operations. To ensure the security of these interfaces, those operations may be performed within the enclave. The IVE tags the trusted binary and provides the binary to the BTE. The BTE then translates the trusted binary into a second format, including designating the tagged portion for execution within the enclave. The BTE may also sign the new binary in the second format and export it out of the enclave.

  • Publication number: 20160150433
Abstract: Methods, devices, and computer program products for status reporting in a network are provided. In some embodiments, mechanisms to delay responding to a received request for status information (“a polling request”) or the triggering or transmission of a status message caused by a reception of a polling request, or to delay the triggering or transmission of the polling request itself are provided, such that redundant transmissions maybe minimized and power consumption may be optimized.

  • Patent number: 9288614
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for initiating a bi-directional communication link with an implantable medical device. The systems and methods configure an implantable medical device (IMD) to detect activation fields from a triggering device when the triggering device is positioned proximate to the IMD, and to identify a field characterization of the activation field. The systems and methods further configure the IMD to establish a bi-directional communication link with an external device through a select communication initialization mode form a plurality of communication initialization modes defined by a wireless protocol in response to the field characterization of the activation field.

  • Publication number: 20150319635
Abstract: A method and poll control entity (300) for controlling a polling procedure in a radio communication where a data transmitting node (302) transmits data (3:1) to a data receiving node (304) and sends polls to the data receiving node according to a default polling frequency. The polls require the data receiving node to send feedback (3:2) to the data transmitting node indicating whether said data has been received and decoded by the data receiving node or not. The poll control entity detects (3:3a-c) a trigger of the radio communication indicating a deviation of a feedback time which is a time period between a time of sending the poll and a time of receiving the feedback from an expected feedback time range. The poll control entity then adjusts (3:4) the polling frequency based on the detected trigger such that the deviation of the feedback time is reduced, and enforces (3:5) the adjusted polling frequency at the data transmitting node.

  • Publication number: 20150280905
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting and correcting Hyper Frame Number (HFN) desynchronization between a first radio node and a second radio node are disclosed. In one embodiment, a first radio node receives a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) Packet Data Unit (PDU) from a second radio node and deciphers the PDCP PDU based on a PDCP Sequence Number (SN) contained in the PDCP PDU and a HFN maintained at the first radio node. The first radio node detects a PDCP SN gap with respect to the PDCP SN contained in the PDCP PDU and, in response, determines whether a HFN desynchronization condition exists between the first radio node and the second radio node. In response to determining that a HFN desynchronization condition exists between the first radio node and the second radio node, the first radio node increments the HFN maintained at the first radio node.

  • Publication number: 20140110506
Abstract: A drip emitter is provided for delivering irrigation water from a supply tube to an emitter outlet at a reduced and relatively constant flow rate. Water enters the emitter through a first inlet and proceeds into a first chamber. When the water pressure is above a predetermined level, a one-directional valve opens to allow fluid flow past the first chamber, through a tortuous path flow channel, and through an emitter outlet. A second inlet is used to compensate for water pressure fluctuations in the supply tube to maintain output flow at a relatively constant rate. Water enters the second inlet and presses a flexible diaphragm toward a water metering surface to provide pressure-dependent control of the output flow. A copper member is mounted to the emitter over the emitter outlet to prevent plant root intrusion into the emitter outlet.

  • Patent number: 8439282
Abstract: An irrigation emitter is provided for delivering irrigation water from a water supply conduit, such as an irrigation supply tube, pipe, or other water supply apparatus, at a low volume or drip-like flow rate. The emitter operates generally through the use of a reduced size orifice and a relatively long tortuous flow channel that cause a pressure reduction between the water supply conduit and an emitter outlet. The emitter includes an inlet for tapping a portion of the water flow from the water supply conduit and, when the water pressure is above a predetermined minimum level, directing the flow to and through the flow channel for subsequent discharge to a desired location. The emitter also may regulate to accommodate for changes in supply pressure. The emitter also may include multiple emitter outlets.
