  • Patent number: 10185577
Abstract: An aspect of the present disclosure provides run-time adaption of external properties controlling operation of applications. In one embodiment, a setup data is maintained indicating conditions and properties that control the operation of applications. Each property is associated with a corresponding condition in the setup data to indicate that the property is to be configured upon satisfaction of the corresponding condition. In response to determining that a specific condition indicated in the setup data has been satisfied, a set of properties that is associated with the determined condition is identified. The applications are then automatically configured to thereafter operate with the identified set of properties.

  • Publication number: 20180336080
Abstract: A system and method to record and trace data exchanges between cooperating hardware unit operations and software unit operations, providing an efficient mechanism to trace back to a root cause point from an observed failure point in a series of executed instructions performed within a data processing system. A data debug memory records information pertaining to each system memory access performed by instructions executed by the hardware and software units into separate memory information blocks. Linked relationships are created between certain ones of the memory information blocks to represent data dependencies that occurred between the instructions. These linked relationships may then be utilized to generate lists that map the various data dependencies between the executed instructions.

  • Publication number: 20180278677
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, described herein is a system and method for optimizing cloud infrastructure through client request classification in a cloud computing environment. The cloud infrastructure can include one or more high-compute infrastructure instances, and one or more standard-compute infrastructure instances. Each request received at a load balancer can be checked against a request classification cache, to determine whether the request has been classified, and if it has been classified, whether the request can be routed to a high-compute infrastructure instance or a standard-compute infrastructure instance based on a classification of the request. An unclassified request can be classified based on a plurality of request parameters, and threshold values derived from the cloud infrastructure; and can be stored in the request classification cache. Classified requests in the classification cache can be provided to a cloud vendor for use in optimizing the cloud infrastructure.
