Abstract: A photo retrieval method, system, and medium using multimodal information which prevents a photo of an irrelevant category to be retrieved having a high ranking due to an unfavorable side effect from a query expansion, by reflecting a level of consistency between an object category of a query and a category of a photo retrieved by expansion retrieval using ontology, to a photo retrieval result ranking is provided. The photo retrieval method using the multimodal information includes: assigning an object category with respect to a query; retrieving photos associated with an expanded query term extracted from the query; determining a ranking of the retrieved photo by reflecting the assigned object category; and arranging and displaying the photos in response to the determined ranking.

Abstract: An apparatus to test a semiconductor device includes a chamber defining an inner space to receive a plurality of semiconductor devices, a temperature control apparatus connected to the chamber and configured to heat or cool the chamber to a predetermined level, and a control module to transmit an electrical signal to the temperature control apparatus to heat or cool an inner space of the chamber. As a result, the semiconductor devices can be exposed to heating and cooling environments having set test temperature values to selectively perform a test.

Abstract: A system and method for performing SRNS relocation in a communications system transmits radio resource information including a ciphering parameter from a source RNC to a target RNC, modifies the ciphering parameter to coincide with a deciphering parameter which a user terminal uses when out-of-sequence data is received, ciphers a data unit based on the modified ciphering parameter, and transmits the ciphered data unit from the target RNC to the user terminal. The method may be modified to operate in UM mode or AM mode and to transmit data over one of several radio bearers. In accordance with another embodiment, the system and method transmits radio resource information from a source RNC to a target RNC and then transmits a data unit from the target RNC to a user terminal. In this case, the data unit including a transmission sequence number which consecutively follows a transmission sequence number of a data unit last transmitted from the source RNC to the user terminal.

Abstract: There are provided an ohmic electrode, which includes a contact layer made of an Al alloy and formed on a nitride-based semiconductor layer functioning as a light emitting layer, a reflective layer made of Ag metal, formed on the contact layer and having some particles in-diffused to the semiconductor layer, and a protective layer formed on the reflective layer to restrain out-diffusion of the reflective layer; a method of forming the ohmic electrode; and a semiconductor light emitting element having the ohmic electrode. The present invention has strong adhesive strength and low contact resistance since the reflective layer and the light emitting layer directly form an ohmic contact due to the interface reaction during heat treatment, and the present invention has high light reflectance and excellent thermal stability since the contact layer and the protective layer restrain out-diffusion of the reflective layer during heat treatment.

Abstract: An artificial nail is formed by injection molding a first section and a second section. The first section and second section are adjacent to one another. One of the sections defines a front distal tip of the artificial nail and is formed by injecting a quantity of heated material under pressure from a nozzle into a sprue, through a runner and through a cavity gate into a mold cavity. The other section is formed by injecting another quantity of heated material under pressure from a heated nozzle through another cavity gate into the mold cavity.

Abstract: A radial core type double rotor brushless direct-current motor is provided in which a double rotor structure is employed with inner and outer rotors which are doubly disposed and thus a stator core is completely divided. The motor includes a rotational shaft which is rotatably mounted on a housing of an apparatus, cylindrical inner and outer yokes which are rotatably mounted on the center of the housing, inner and outer rotors including a number of magnets which are mounted with the opposing polarities on the outer surface of the inner yoke and the inner surface of the outer yoke, and a number of cores assemblies which are installed between the inner and outer rotors in which a number of coils are wound around a number of division type cores, respectively.

Abstract: Provided is a scanning probe microscope capable of precisely analyzing characteristics of samples having an overhang surface structure. The scanning probe microscope comprises a first probe, a first scanner changing a position of the first probe along a straight line, and a second scanner changing a position of a sample in a plane, wherein the straight line in which the position of the first probe is changed by using the first scanner is non-perpendicular to the plane in which the position of the sample is changed by using the second scanner.

Abstract: A speech recognition method including: layering a central lexicon in a tree structure with respect to recognition-subject vocabularies; performing multi-pass symbol matching between a recognized phoneme sequence and a phonetic sequence of the central lexicon layered in the tree structure; and selecting a final speech recognition result via a Viterbi search process using a detailed acoustic model with respect to candidate vocabularies selected by the multi-pass symbol matching.

Abstract: A method of forming a virtually defect free lattice mismatched nanoheteroepitaxial layer is disclosed. The method includes forming an interface layer on a portion of a substrate. A plurality of seed pads are then formed by self-directed touchdown by exposing the interface layer to a material comprising a semiconductor material. The plurality of seed pads, having an average width of about 1 nm to 10 nm, are interspersed within the interface layer and contact the substrate. An epitaxial layer is then formed by lateral growth of the seed pads over the interface layer.

Abstract: A method of forming a virtually defect free lattice mismatched nanoheteroepitaxial layer is disclosed. The method includes forming an interface layer on a portion of a substrate. The movable assembly is moved along a curved guide and has grooves that engage with corresponding projections on a stationary frame to precisely position the movable assembly at predefined locations along the curved guide.

Abstract: A voice query extension method and system. The voice query extension method includes: detecting voice activity of a user from an input signal and extracting a feature vector from the voice activity; converting the feature vector into at least one phoneme sequence and generating the at least one phoneme sequence; matching the at least one phoneme sequence with words registered in a dictionary, extracting a string of the matched words with a linguistic meaning, and selecting the string of the matched words as a query; determining whether the query is in a predetermined first language, and when the query is not in the first language as a result of the determining, converting the query using a phoneme to grapheme rule, and generating a query in the first language; and searching using the query in the first language.

The method of detecting noise includes: receiving an input of a voice frame and converting the voice frame into a filter bank vector; converting the converted filter bank vector into band data; calculating a weight Gaussian mixture model (GMM) for each band by using the converted band data; and detecting noise in the voice frame based on the calculation result.

The method includes analyzing a web history of a user from web search logs of the user and generating a voice access list based on the analysis results, and performing voice recognition by dynamically generating a voice recognition syntax according to the generated voice access list. Accordingly, by limiting syntax required for voice recognition by generating a syntax suitable for a web context of the user, efficient voice recognition, which can be performed in a terminal not a server, can be implemented.

Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus for automatically completing a text input using speech recognition. The method includes: receiving a first part of a text from a user through a text input device; recognizing a speech of the user, which corresponds to the text; and completing a remaining part of the text based on the first part of the text and the recognized speech. Therefore, accuracy of the text input and convenience of the speech recognition can be ensured, and a non-input part of the text can be easily input based on the input part of the text and the recognized speech at a high speed.

Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus for partially encrypting speech packets, more specifically, a method and apparatus for selecting partial encryption sets used for a partial encryption technique in which compressed speech packets are partially encrypted to obtain the same effect as a full encryption technique. The method includes the steps of: (a) compressing respective speech files stored in a large-capacity speech database into the speech packets using a speech codec; (b) measuring single-bit loss distortion and sequential-bit loss distortion of the speech packets compressed in step (a); (c) generating standards for selecting partial encryption sets based on the measurement results of the single-bit loss distortion and sequential-bit loss distortion; (d) selecting the partial encryption sets according to the generated standards; and (e) encrypting the speech packets using the selected partial encryption sets.

Abstract: Disclosed is a resin composition for a PCB, the composition including: (a) a polyphenylene ether resin modified via a redistribution reaction of polyphenylene ether in the presence of 9,9-bis(hydroxyaryl)fluorene or 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-(dihydroxyaryl)-10-phosphaphenanthrene 10-oxide; (b) a polymer binder; and (c) cyanate ester or a prepolymer of the cyanate ester, wherein, when the polyphenylene ether resin is modified via a redistribution reaction of the polyphenylene ether in the presence of 9,9-bis(hydroxyaryl)fluorene, the composition further includes (d) a flame retardant. Also, a composite substrate and a copper laminate using the same are disclosed.
