  • Publication number: 20240061814
Abstract: Techniques are described for enabling concurrent cross-region replications and garbage collection while maintaining consistency and data integrity among file systems. In some embodiments, techniques for garbage collection fencing utilize a system-level garbage fencing key (GC fencing key) and one or more job-level GC fencing keys in a source file system that perform one or more cross-region replications with one or more target file systems, one replication and one job-level GC fencing key per target file system. In some embodiments, one job-level GC fencing key in a source file system and one job-level GC fencing key in a source file system together provide garbage fencing for a cross-region replication. In certain embodiments, the metadata information in a GC fencing key can inform, instruct, or be used to configure garbage collectors to skip garbage collection for a range of snapshots in a file system.

  • Patent number: 11889507
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a base station may extract, from a neighboring base station with cell coverage that overlaps cell coverage of the base station, information associated with user equipment (UE) transmission of MsgA messages. The base station may select, based at least in part on the information, a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) resource to allocate to a UE for transmission of a MsgA message. The base station may transmit, to the UE, an allocation of the PUSCH resource. Numerous other aspects are described.

  • Publication number: 20240028417
Abstract: Systems and methods provide for a federated workflow solution to orchestrate entire machine learning (ML) workflows comprising multiple tasks, across silos. In other words, one or more sets/pluralities of tasks making up an ML workflow, can be executed across multiple resource partitions or domains. Federated workflow state can be maintained and shared through some form of distributed database/ledger, such as a blockchain. Agents that are locally deployed locally at the silos may orchestrate an ML workflow at a particular resource domains, each such agent having access, via the blockchain (acting as a globally visible/consistent state store), to the aforementioned workflow state. Such systems are capable of operating regardless of the existence of heterogeneous resources/aspects of a silo.

  • Publication number: 20240026575
Abstract: In a method of making a carbon fiber, PAN (poly(acrylonitrile-co methacrylic acid)) is dissolved into a solvent to form a PAN solution. The PAN solution is extruded through a spinneret, thereby generating at least one precursor fiber. The precursor fiber is passed through a cold gelation medium, thereby causing the precursor fiber to gel. The precursor fiber is drawn to a predetermined draw ratio. The precursor fiber is continuously stabilized to form a stabilized fiber. The stabilized fiber is continuously carbonized thereby generating the carbon fiber. The carbon fiber is wound onto a spool. A carbon fiber has a fiber tensile strength in a range of 5.5 GPa to 5.83 GPa. The carbon fiber has a fiber tensile modulus in a range of 350 GPa to 375 GPa. The carbon fiber also has an effective diameter in a range of 5.1 ?m to 5.2 ?m.

  • Publication number: 20240012852
Abstract: Bias in Machine Learning (ML) is when an ML algorithm tends to incompletely learn relevant and important patterns from a dataset, or learns the patterns from data incorrectly. Such inaccuracy can cause the algorithm to miss important relationships between patterns and features in data, resulting in inaccurate algorithm predictions. Systems and methods for detecting potential ML bias in input image datasets are described herein. After a target image is received, a subset of images related to the target image is extracted. The target image and subset of images are analyzed under an imbalance assessment and data bias assessment to determine the presence of any potential data bias in a ML training pipeline. If any data bias is determined, one or more messages summarizing the assessments and including explanations to enable more accurate predictions in image assessments are sent to the user.

  • Patent number: 11855630
Abstract: Techniques are described herein to enhance capability of floating level translators. For example, increased headroom is accomplished by adaptively bypassing the protection elements of the voltage level translator. In an example, a floating level translator can translate an input signal from a low-voltage domain to a high-voltage domain. A bypass circuit is coupled across the protection elements. The bypass circuit selectively engages during low-voltage operation (e.g., thereby providing a lower loss path relative to loss caused by the high-voltage protection elements and thus increasing the headroom swing), and disengages responsive to the high-voltage reference rail of the high-voltage domain exceeding a threshold or otherwise being high enough (e.g., greater than the potential of the low-voltage domain power rail). The bypass circuit can be implemented in a relatively low-complexity manner (e.g., back-to-back high-voltage FETs) without additional signals to control low-voltage capability.

  • Publication number: 20230409442
Abstract: Techniques are described for maintaining data consistency when failure events occur during file storage replications between file systems in different cloud infrastructure regions. In certain embodiments, two generation numbers (or different identifications) are assigned to two groups of processed B-tree key-value pairs, one before and one after a failure event, within a key range. In some embodiments, the two generation numbers are assigned to a group of B-tree key-value pairs processed by a failed thread and another group of B-tree key-value pairs processed by a substitute thread taking over the failed thread to avoid potential data corruption.

  • Publication number: 20230409522
Abstract: Novel techniques for end-to-end file storage replication and security between file systems in different cloud infrastructure regions are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a file storage service generates deltas between snapshots in a source file system, and transfers the deltas and associated data through a high-throughput object storage to recreate a new snapshot in a target file system located in a different region during disaster recovery. The file storage service utilizes novel techniques to achieve scalable, reliable, and restartable end-to-end replication. Novel techniques are also described to ensure a secure transfer of information and consistency during the end-to-end replication.

  • Publication number: 20230409534
Abstract: Techniques are described for checkpointing multiple key ranges in parallel and concurrently during file storage replications between file systems in different cloud infrastructure regions. In certain embodiments, multiple range threads processing multiple key ranges, one thread per key range, create checkpoints for their respective key ranges in parallel and concurrently after processing a per-determined number of B-tree keys. In certain embodiments, each thread requests a lock from a central checkpoint record and takes turns for updating a status byte while continuing processing the B-tree keys in its responsible key range. In certain embodiments, upon encountering a failure event, either a system crash or a thread failure, each thread restarts its B-tree key processing from a B-tree key after the most recent checkpoint.
