  • Publication number: 20050002061
Abstract: A print job creation apparatus of the invention sets a priority order of image integration areas in a selected template for integration of images, when the selected template is displayed in a layout editing field 93. When the user selects desired images among multiple images displayed in an image display filed 96a and clicks a ‘Place’ button 94a, the print job creation apparatus integrates the selected images in their alignment order into the image integration areas of the template in the preset priority order. When the user selects one image integration area and a desired image among the images displayed in the image display field 96a and clicks a ‘Replace’ button 94b, an image currently placed in the selected image integration area is replaced with the selected image.

  • Publication number: 20040263906
Abstract: A print job creation apparatus of the invention connecting with a local network uses an output destination setting window 66 to set an output destination for output of a print job under creation or a created print job with respect to each combination of a print service and a paper size in a tabular form. Each setting field in the output destination setting window 66 includes an output destination setting box 67 on the upper row to set a selected output destination, a paper type setting box 68 on the middle row to set a selected type of printing paper, and an output step setting box 69 on the lower row to set a selected print job creation step for output of a print job to the output destination. A pulldown menu is open in the output destination setting box 67 to give available options including other print job creation apparatuses and printers connecting with the same local network and other print job creation apparatuses and printers connecting with a different local network.

  • Publication number: 20040239955
Abstract: A print job creation process includes a print service selection step, an image registration step, a template selection step, a layout editing step, and a print step. A template selection window, which is open in the template selection step, has a checkbox ‘Use Print Image Matching 2/Exif Print’ to set execution or non-execution of printing with shooting information. In the case of setting execution of the printing with shooting information, part of image editing options are restricted in the layout editing step. This arrangement readily creates a print job, while effectively preventing high-quality printing with shooting information from being damaged by editing the image.

  • Publication number: 20040239974
Abstract: A print job creation process includes an image registration step by an image registration management module 22, a template selection step by a template setting management module 23, a layout editing step by a layout editing management module 24, and a print step by a print management module 25. A job interruption module 26 interrupts creation of a print job at any stage in the print job creation process and makes ready for creation of a new print job. A job resumption module 27 is activated at a desired timing to resume interrupted creation of a print job. A job output management module 28 is activated to prepare a file of the interrupted print job and send the file to a job management apparatus 40. A print job creation apparatus 20 activates its job input management module 29 to input the file of the interrupted print job from the job management apparatus 40 and make ready for resumption of creation of the interrupted print job.

  • Publication number: 20040236789
Abstract: A default printer and a paper type are set for each combination of a print service and a paper size in a tabular form. The setting field has a printer setting box 67 on the upper row to set a default printer used for execution of a print job and a paper type setting box 68 on the lower row to set a selected type of printing paper. A pulldown menu is open in the printer setting box 67 to allow the user to select a desired printer among printers connecting with a local network and printers connecting with another network different from the local network. In response to an execution instruction of a selected print job, in which a printer connecting with the different network is set to the default printer, the selected print job is sent to an apparatus, in which a driver of the default printer is installed. The apparatus executes the selected print job.

  • Publication number: 20040229006
Abstract: A magnetic recording medium has a recording layer, disposed above a surface of a substrate and made of hard magnetic nano-particles. The hard magnetic nano-particles are made of an alloy having as a main component an element selected from a group consisting of FePt, FePd and CoPt, and the hard magnetic nano-particles have axes of easy magnetization oriented in a direction approximately perpendicular to the surface of the substrate.

  • Publication number: 20030026015
Abstract: A magnetic disk evaluation apparatus, including an evaluation head for evaluating a magnetic disk, and a support member for supporting the evaluation head, wherein the support member supports the evaluation head in a state where a flying surface of the evaluation head and a surface of a magnetic disk make a flying pitch angle of 95 &mgr;rad or more.

  • Patent number: 5795490
Abstract: Nitric acid is used to etch the air-bearing-surface (alumina titanium carbide) of a slider, the air-bearing-surface overcoat and adhesive layer formed thereon being worn out, sa as to reduce the optical reflectance of the region where the air-bearing-surface substrate is exposed. The air-bearing-surface of the slider is optically imaged and the resulting image processed by a computer to determine the surface area of the region where both the adhesive layer and the air-bearing-surface overcoat are worn out, having reduced optical reflectance. Then, the adhesive layer is removed by means of hydrofluoric acid treatment and etching is again done with nitric acid to create another region with a reduced optical reflectance, enabling determination of the surface area of the region over which only the air-bearing-surface overcoat is worn out.
