  • Publication number: 20190222910
Abstract: A head-mounted display (HMID) includes a strap arm that transmits audio. The HMID includes a front rigid body and a strap arm. The strap arm includes a body portion defining a boss having an aperture that rotatably connects the strap arm to the front rigid body. The body portion defines an audio passage to transmit sound and an audio port to output the sound. The audio passage is defined along the body portion between the aperture of the boss and the audio port. A speaker is positioned, such as within the aperture, to emit the sound through the audio passage and to the audio port. The strap arm can further include a back volume unit that enhances the sound transmitted through the audio passage.

  • Patent number: 10312224
Abstract: At least one array of LEDs (e.g., in a flip chip configuration) is supported by a substrate having a light extraction surface overlaid with at least one lumiphoric material. Light segregation elements registered with gaps between LEDs are configured to reduce interaction between emissions of different LEDs and/or lumiphoric material regions to reduce scattering and/or optical crosstalk, thereby preserving pixel-like resolution of the resulting emissions. Light segregation elements may be formed by mechanical sawing or etching to define grooves or recesses in a substrate, and filling the grooves or recesses with light-reflective or light-absorptive material. Light segregation elements external to a substrate may be defined by photolithographic patterning and etching of a sacrificial material, and/or by 3D printing.

  • Publication number: 20190164211
Abstract: Entities such as hotels, restaurants, resorts, houses, vehicles, and other places and things, are associated with images of each entity. The images are tagged using machine learning to identify what aspects of the associated entity are captured by each image. When a user is requested to select an entity from a set of entities, a user preference model is used to determine what tags the user is interested in. The tags are used to select images associated with the entities from the set of entities, and the selected images are displayed to the user. The user can then provide indicators that show which of the displayed images the user likes or dislikes. Based on the indicators, one or more entities from the set of entities is presented to the user. The model may also be updated based on the indicators.

  • Publication number: 20190151186
Abstract: The universal walker seat is an apparatus that supports a user while standing and sitting. The apparatus allows a user to sit if the user is too weak or tired to continue walking. The apparatus includes a folding walker, at least one suspending sheet, and a set of fasteners. The folding walker allows a user to redistribute weight while walking in order to ease the stress of walking on whichever body part is not strong enough to support the user. The at least one suspending sheet safely and comfortably supports a user while sitting with the folding walker. The at least one suspending sheet hangs from the folding walker with the set of fasteners. The set of fasteners allows the at least one suspending sheet to be attached to a variety of folding walkers and remain attached to a folding walker regardless if the folding walker is extended or collapsed.

  • Patent number: 10294630
Abstract: In one aspect, a method for creating a final graded soil surface may include controlling an operation of a grading implement of a work vehicle such that the grading implement removes a layer of soil from a current soil surface as the work vehicle is moved in a forward direction. The method may also include receiving an input indicative of the current soil surface being at an offset soil depth relative to the initial ungraded soil surface, with the offset soil depth differing from the final soil depth. When the current soil surface is at the offset soil depth, the method may further include adjusting a position of the grading implement to add or remove soil based on a depth differential defined between the offset soil depth and the final soil depth to create the final graded soil surface as the work vehicle is moved in the reverse direction.
