  • Patent number: 10132853
Abstract: The embodiments herein are directed to monitoring in real time, power system data so as to provide insights into global operation of a power grid. Such a scheme disclosed herein utilizes rules, which are created by analyzing PMU measurement data, in order to detect the fault location (bus and line) and fault type. Three common types of faults in a power grid, single-line-to-ground (SLG), line-to-line (LL), and three phase faults, can be detected using the methods herein.

  • Publication number: 20180329937
Abstract: Implementing a naming service for a hierarchal namespace in a database format. A method includes at a database, wherein the database stores a first table having references to hierarchical nodes in a hierarchical namespace, and a second table with relational references to hierarchical nodes referenced in the first table, detecting an edge modification event changing one or more edges of a node in the hierarchical namespace. The method further includes, as a result, creating a unique row in the second table for the edge modification event in the hierarchical namespace. Any edge modification event results in creation of a unique row in the second table such that different entities can cause overlapping edge modification events that can be documented at the database without transactional conflicts.

  • Publication number: 20180330106
Abstract: A naming service for a hierarchical namespace. The naming service includes a database system with a first table having first records. Each of the first records is for a hierarchical node and includes a node identifier and an ACL identifier to a set of access control rules applicable to the node. The database system includes a second table including second records, each record in the second records has one of the ACL identifiers from the first table correlated with a definition access control rules in the set of access control rules. The naming service includes an access control rule identifier generator configured to detect a set of access control rules for each node in the namespace and generate an a ACL identifier for each set of access control rules that can be stored in records in the first table and stored in records in the second table.

  • Publication number: 20180332086
Abstract: A server system sends links to content categories for display on a user device associated with a user. Each content category corresponds to a subset of content items. When a link to one of the content categories is selected, the corresponding subset of the content items is sent for display on the user device. The system selects a group of content items according to determined relevance scores for the user based on one or more relevance criteria and sends links to the content items in the group for display on the user device in a first order according to the relevance scores. The system adjusts the relevance scores of some content items in the group according to user feedback and resends links to the content items in the group for display on the user device in a second order according to the adjusted relevance scores.

  • Publication number: 20180329599
Abstract: Techniques are shown for changing input assignments of an input device controls for a first application while leaving assignments unchanged for other applications. When a first application is active, a first input action is registered from activation of an input control selected for mode control. In response, when an input mode of the first application corresponds to standard device mapping inputs, the input mode is changed to an input mode corresponding to an alternate device mapping inputs assigned to a subset of input controls. When the first application is in alternate device mapping mode, input control activations are registered according to the alternate device mapping actions. When a second application is active, input control activations are registered according to the standard input mapping actions.

  • Publication number: 20180315371
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices are disclosed for applying concealment of components of an electronic device. In one embodiment, an electronic device may include a component that is disposed behind a display (e.g., a transparent organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display) that is configured to selectively become transparent at certain transparency regions. Additionally, the electronic device includes data processing circuitry configured to determine when an event requesting that the component be exposed occurs. The data processing circuitry may control portions of the display to become transparent, to expose the component upon the occurrence of the event requesting that the component be exposed.

  • Patent number: 10115225
Abstract: A system and method of onboard and offboard visualization of material characteristics in mining is provided. According to one aspect, the method includes a step of providing a voxel representation of a mining area. The voxel representation includes a plurality of voxels. At least one voxel of the plurality of voxels is compared to a geological model of the mining area, and at least one material characteristic is assigned to the at least one voxel based on the geological model of the mining area. In another aspect, the method includes calculating a volume of extracted material, assigning at least one quantified material characteristic to the volume of extracted material based on a geological model, and displaying a visual representation of the volume of extracted material and at least one quantified material characteristic using a visualization tool.

  • Patent number: 10109232
Abstract: A system and methods to extending the overall display area for a device. At or near the borders of a device, pixel pitch between adjacent pixels may be increased such that overall pixel placement may be provided closer to a border of a display of a device. In one embodiment, pixel drive circuitry may be located in the spacing between adjacent pixels. Additionally, various optical systems and techniques may be utilized to provide an appearance of a lack of a border around the display such as decreasing the size of border pixels, overdriving the border pixels, or utilizing a light pipe on a surface above the border pixels.
