  • Publication number: 20160377231
Abstract: A valve stem for a pressurized valve assembly. The valve stem has an open top portion, a closed bottom portion, at least one primary radial opening, and a valve stem longitudinal passageway between the open top portion and the at least one primary radial opening. A conduit extends from the valve stem at an angle relative to the valve stem longitudinal passageway, proximate to the open top portion. • Publication number: 20160376087
Abstract: A valve assembly for a pressurized container includes a valve stem and a mechanical seal. The valve stem has an open top portion, a closed bottom portion, at least one primary radial opening, at least one secondary radial opening and a valve stem passageway between the open top portion and both the at least one primary radial opening and the at least one secondary radial opening. The mechanical seal comprises a longitudinal passageway that seals the at least one primary radial opening and the at least one secondary radial opening, respectively, when the valve stem is in a closed position. Longitudinal translation of the valve stem exposes the at least one primary radial opening or both the at least one primary radial opening and the at least one secondary radial opening to the pressurized container when the valve stem is in an open position.

  • Patent number: 9505509
Abstract: A method of pressurizing a container usable for an aerosol dispenser. The method comprises providing a pressurizeable outer container and complementary valve cup, at least one having a channel into the container. A manifold is brought into sealing relationship with the channel of the container. Propellant is supplied from the manifold, goes through the channel and into the container. While the manifold is still sealed to the container, the channel is sealed shut to maintain the pressure. Sealing may be accomplished by sonic or ultrasonic welding.

  • Patent number: 9493293
Abstract: The invention relates to a dispensing apparatus for containing a pressurized composition. The dispensing apparatus comprises a reservoir for containing the composition, a flow conduit in fluid communication with the reservoir having a distal end forming a flow conduit orifice; and a displaceable actuator head comprising a side wall having an interior surface and a dispensing orifice formed through the side wall. An intermediate member having an aperture extending there through is interposed between the interior surface of the displaceable actuator head and the distal end of the flow conduit. The intermediate member is affixed to either the interior surface of the actuator head aligning the aperture with the dispensing orifice or to the distal end of the flow conduit aligning the aperture with the flow conduit orifice. The intermediate member seals the dispensing orifice when the displaceable actuator head is biased to an at-rest position.

  • Publication number: 20160176619
Abstract: A pressurized container usable for an aerosol dispenser. The container is charged with propellant. The container may be conveniently shipped, for later product filling and/or decoration. By manufacturing the subcombination at a first location, and shipping sealed to a second location, flexible manufacture can be achieved. The second location can add locally popular product and decoration.

  • Publication number: 20160059247
Abstract: A spray system for dispensing fluid products. The spray system comprises a discrete inlet port. Fluids, such as liquid, admitted to the inlet port flows into an open volume defined by a convergent surface of revolution about a longitudinal axis. The convergent surface of revolution circumscribes the longitudinal axis and, fluid flowing therethrough, towards an outlet nozzle. At least a portion of the surface of revolution is convex, concave or a combination thereof, so as not to be rectilinear.

  • Patent number: 9174229
Abstract: A helix cup for use in a pressurized dispenser. The helix cup has a convergent funnel wall. The funnel wall is not straight and does not satisfy the mathematical equations for surface area or for subtended volume of the frustrum of a cone. Instead, the funnel wall provides a longer flow path than is achieved with straight sidewalls. The longer flow path provides for a tighter particle size distribution at lower pressures than occurs in the prior art.

  • Patent number: 9061795
Abstract: A container having a curved bottom and base cup which allows the container to stand upright. The container and base cup are fitted together by a mechanical engagement having portions on the container and base cup. The mechanical engagement of the container is disposed within the bottom cone of the container. The mechanical engagement of the base cup is cantilevered from the bottom of the base cup. Such disposition reduces stress at the interface between the side wall of the container and edge of the base, providing for a smoother transition and better appearance. Also, this disposition provides resistance to separation of the container and base cup during drop impact. The bottom of the container may be curved and have a well therein for receiving the contents of the container and a dip tube.
