  • Publication number: 20210085366
Abstract: A surgical access system comprises a trocar, an insufflating optical obturator slidably insertable into the trocar, and a laparoscope slidably insertable into the obturator. A distal end of the obturator comprises a tip, at least a portion of which comprises a wall with a generally uniform thickness comprising a transparent material. At least one vent hole disposed at the obturator tip is fluidly connected to a gas flow channel defined by an interior surface of the obturator and the laparoscope, which is fluidly connected to an insufflation gas inlet disposed at a proximal end of the trocar. Improved optical characteristics of the trocar system permit precise and accurate visual placement thereof into a body cavity. Accordingly the access system is suitable as a first entry surgical access system. Embodiments of the trocar access are also useful for drug delivery, and/or for fluid and/or tissue aspiration.

  • Patent number: 10916863
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, an antenna system that includes a selector and a dielectric antenna array. The selector is coupled to a number of dielectric cores and selectively launches electromagnetic waves on a selected dielectric core of the dielectric cores. The selected dielectric core corresponds to one of the dielectric cores, and the electromagnetic waves propagate along the selected dielectric core without requiring an electrical return path. The dielectric antenna array is coupled to the dielectric cores and includes a number of dielectric antennas, wherein a dielectric antenna of the dielectric antennas transmits, in response to the electromagnetic waves received from the selected dielectric core, a controllable beam. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20200331381
Abstract: A tank for transporting fluids on a truck chassis includes a front wall, side walls, a back wall, a top, and a floor. Interior stairs extend from the floor to an opening in the top to allow stair access into the interior with integrated safety handrails on the fill port cover. Stair toe kicks act as internal transverse baffles to help control fluid motion and surging. The stairs also act as a structural stiffener between longitudinal baffles. Horizontal baffles assist in controlling fluid motion and surging. Formed baffles provide strength and stiffness. A baffle interlocking system improves joint integrity and aids manufacturing. Formed outer skins provide structural strength for the tank. Ports located in front and rear bulkheads may be used for tank ventilation or, depending on local safety codes, as secondary access points. Doors or other access openings may be located in the tank bulkheads to provide better interior access.

  • Publication number: 20200324180
Abstract: Iron-type golf club heads are disclosed having a heel portion, a sole portion, a toe portion, a top-line portion, a front portion, a rear portion, and a striking face. The iron-type golf club heads include a localized stiffened region that is located on the striking face of the club head such that the localized stiffened region alters the launch conditions of golf balls struck by the club head in a way that wholly or partially compensates for, overcomes, or prevents the occurrence of a rightward deviation. In particular, the localized stiffened region is located on the striking face such that a golf ball struck under typical conditions will not impart a right-tending sidespin to the golf ball.
