  • Patent number: 11544888
Abstract: Systems and methods for displaying a virtual character in a mixed reality environment are disclosed. In some embodiments, a view of the virtual character is based on an animation rig comprising primary joints and helper joints. The animation rig may be in a pose defined by spatial relationships between the primary joints and helper joints. The virtual character may be moving in the mixed reality environment. In some instances, the virtual character may be moving based on a comparison of interestingness values associated with elements in the mixed reality environment. The spatial relationship transformation associated with the movement may be indicated by movement information. In some embodiments, the movement information is received from a neural network.

  • Publication number: 20220416274
Abstract: Techniques of deploying fuel cells in a facility are described herein. In one embodiment, a method includes identifying a location of the receptacle at the facility that the fuel cell is connected upon detecting the fuel connector of the second side of the carrier being coupled to a fuel port at a receptacle at the facility. The method can then include generating and storing, in a database, a fuel cell record indicating that the fuel cell is physically connected to the receptacle at the identified location in the facility and instructing a control device in the facility corresponding to the identified location to provide fuel to the fuel cell via the fuel port, the fuel connector, the connection between the first side and the second side of the carrier, and the fuel inlet of the fuel cell.

  • Publication number: 20220394360
Abstract: A method provides for tracking client playback events when playing an asset specified in a manifest for streaming adaptive bit rate (ABR) content. The method includes generating, with a manifest manipulator, a manifest that includes an asset URL inserted at a marker denoting a placement opportunity in a content manifest requested by a client. The manifest also includes callback URLs for tracking playback events to be returned by the client. The manifest manipulator sends the manifest to the client. At least one of the callback URLs is received by a tracking proxy associated with the manifest manipulator, indicating that the event has been performed by the client. In response, a tracking URL is obtained by the tracking proxy. The tracking URL is sent to at least one asset decision system participating in an asset decision process that resulted in providing the asset URL to the manifest manipulator.

  • Publication number: 20220390220
Abstract: When extending the leader or tape from a traditional tape measure over a large distance, a user situated away from the body of the tape measure is unable to determine the length that has been extended at the leading edge. Presented herein is a retractable measuring device in which the body of the measuring device is configured to compute and broadcast the amount of tape that has been withdrawn from the body to a receiver. The receiver may be located at the leading edge of the tape or comprise a secondary device such as a smartphone. Alternatively, the broadcast may include tactile, audible, or visual feedback relating to the distance that may be received directly by the user. Additionally, the retractable device may include an interface for setting a desired length and provide either the user or receiver with feedback when the desired length has been reached.

  • Publication number: 20220366627
Abstract: Systems and methods generating an animation rig corresponding to a pose of a subject include accessing image data corresponding to the pose of the subject. The image data can include the face of the subject. The systems and methods process the image data by successively analyzing subregions of the image according to a solver order. The solver order can be biologically or anatomically ordered to proceed from subregions that cause larger scale movements to subregions that cause smaller scale movements. In each subregion, the systems and methods can perform an optimization technique to fit parameters of the animation rig to the input image data. After all subregions have been processed, the animation rig can be used to animate an avatar to appear to be performing the pose of the subject.

  • Patent number: 11501047
Abstract: A non-limiting example of a computer-implemented method for error injection includes executing a pre-silicon operation on a simulated chip verifying that a plurality of latches from a timing simulation set error checkers when run against a manufacturing test suite in order to generate a cross-reference file containing latch entries in a table. It executes a first post-silicon operation on a hardware chip based on the simulated chip to determine empirically that timing latches from logic built-in self tests (“LBIST”) trigger the same error checkers set by the plurality of latches verified in the simulated chip. The method updates the cross-reference file based on the results of the determination. The method executes a second post-silicon operation on the hardware chip to improve chip frequency by working around functional checkers using the cross-reference file and updating the cross-reference file based on the results of the improving.

  • Publication number: 20220350398
Abstract: Systems and methods of the present disclosure enable movement recognition and tracking by receiving movement measurements associated with movements of a user. The movement measurements are converted into feature values. An action recognition machine learning model having trained action recognition parameters generates, based on the feature values, an action label representing an action performed during an action-related interval. An activity recognition machine learning model having trained activity recognition parameters generates, based on the action label, an activity label representing an activity performed during an activity-related interval, where the activity includes the action. A task recognition machine learning model having trained task recognition parameters generates, based on the action label and the activity label, a task label representing a task performed during a task-related interval, where the task includes the activity and action.

  • Publication number: 20220350830
Abstract: An apparatus includes a memory and processor. The memory stores OCR and NLP algorithms. The processor receives an image of a physical document page and executes the OCR algorithm to convert the image into text. The processor identifies errors in the text, which are associated with noise in the image. The processor generates a feature vector that includes features obtained by executing the NLP algorithm on the text, and features associated with the identified errors in the text. The processor uses the feature vector to assign the image to a document category. Documents assigned to the document category share one or more characteristics, and the feature vector is associated with a probability greater than a threshold that the physical document associated with the image includes those characteristics. The processor then stores the image in a database as a page of an electronic document belonging to the assigned document category.

  • Publication number: 20220350999
Abstract: An apparatus includes a memory and processor. The memory stores document categories, text generated from an image a physical document page, and a machine learning algorithm. The text includes errors associated with noise in the image. The machine learning algorithm is configured to extract features associated with natural language processing and features associated with the errors from the text. The machine learning algorithm is also configured to generate a feature vector that includes the first and second pluralities of features, and to generate, based on the feature vector, a set of probabilities, each of which is associated with a document category and indicates a probability that the physical document from which the text was generated belongs to that document category. The processor applies the machine learning algorithm to the text, to generate the set of probabilities, identifies a largest probability, and assigns the image to the associated document category.

  • Publication number: 20220331707
Abstract: A propeller-driven rocket has a body that is divided into multiple pieces. During the launch and climb, the body reaction to the torque of the propeller keeps the body panels pressed into their initial orientation. At the apex of flight, or a predetermined time from launch, the propeller reverses direction for short period of time. This reverses the forces on the body panels, causing them to release outward. The body panels are hinged such that they may form a rotor for an auto-rotating, controlled descent.
