Abstract: A memory device includes a compressed color table and corrective information. The compressed color table includes a first set of nodes of the color table compressed with a lossy compression at a selected compression ratio. The first set of nodes include a color difference within an error threshold at the selected compression ratio. Corrective information is included for a second set of nodes of the color table. The second set of nodes have a color difference outside the error threshold.

Abstract: A multi-stage seafloor mining system that has at least concentration stage, a reclamation stage, and a haulage stage. The system includes a concentrating system (50) that processes seafloor materials, a reclaimer machine (300) that collects the processed seafloor materials, and a mechanical haulage system (40) that receives the processed seafloor materials collected by the reclaimer machine (300) and conveys discrete parcels of the processed seafloor materials to a surface vessel (100).

Abstract: Devices and methods for managing a network communication channel are provided. The electronic device is configured to determine a list of available intermediate servers for establishing a network communication channel between the electronic device and an enterprise entity. The electronic device generates a list of aggregate round trip times. The list of aggregate round trip times include an aggregate round trip time associated with each intermediate server in the list of available intermediate servers. Each aggregate round trip time includes a front end round trip time and a back end round trip time. The electronic device selects one of the intermediate servers based on the list of aggregate round trip times and establishes the network communication channel using the selected intermediate server.

Abstract: Disclosed techniques enable participants of a communication session that is rendered within a mixed reality environment to change their view or perspective in the mixed reality environment. The participants may alter their view or perspective in the mixed reality environment using a data processing device displaying the communication session. The participant may interact with a data processing device displaying the communication session to cause the change in their view or perspective in the mixed reality environment. The participant interaction may include user touch and/or gestures with an associated data processing device to cause the change in the participant's view or perspective in the mixed reality environment. The participant may use a plurality of fingers on a display of the data processing device to zoom, pan or rotate their view or perspective in the mixed reality environment.

Abstract: Various methods and systems for implementing resource management for an infrastructure are provided. Resource management includes datacenter byproduct management interfaces, datacenter power management, datacenter operations optimization and infrastructure resource management. Resource management facilitates using and distributing physical resources, including incidental physical resources that are generated during operation of an infrastructure, based on a threshold reserve of the physical resource associated with the operating the infrastructure. Resource management can include controlling an amount of the physical resource that is generated and an amount the physical resource that is reserved. The threshold reserve in combination with the control over generating and reserving the physical resource help identify an allocable amount of the physical resource. Physical resources of an infrastructure are quantified to support resource management.

Abstract: Approaches are described for an interface element that displays progressively more information about a search result in a listing of search results. In an embodiment, a user interacts with a search result, for example by utilizing a gesture on a touch-sensitive display, and a supplemental content item is generated and displayed using, in one example, a subset of available supplemental information associated with the search result. The display of the supplemental content item is accompanied by an animation is some embodiments whereby the supplemental content item visually “slides” over to replace the search result.

Abstract: A support coupling which provides a frangible point for a lighting fixture, and which prevents water from accumulating at the frangible point and from penetrating an inner chamber of the lighting fixture where electronic components are disposed includes an inner wall and an outer wall. The inner wall has a higher grade (i.e., is taller) than the outer wall. A space between the inner wall and the outer wall receives an extension column. Water running down the sides of the extension column is collected in the space and pours out of the coupling over the shorter outer wall before the water reaches the top of the inner wall.

Abstract: A feeder system for advancing a compressible material has a hydraulic circuit associated with a final compression stage. The hydraulic circuit includes a platen attached to a primary ram configured to travel within a primary cylinder. The platen is operatively connected to a main piston cylinder assembly and at least two ancillary piston cylinder assemblies. In a first mode of operation, the hydraulic circuit forces the ancillary piston cylinder assemblies to advance the platen and ram in a forward compression direction until they reach a first predetermined position between travel extremes, while the main piston cylinder assembly passively travels along in the forward compression direction. Once the first predetermined position is reached, in a second mode of operation, the hydraulic circuit additionally forces the main piston cylinder assembly to compress the compressible material. In a third mode of operation, the hydraulic circuit retracts the platen and primary ram.

Abstract: A method and system to signal transmission layers or dedicated reference signal ports to be used in a multiple input multiple output system, the method including providing a downlink control signal containing information for transmission layers or dedicated reference signal ports utilized, the dedicated reference signal ports being associated with the transmission layers; and using the information to demodulate data on each transmission layer.

Abstract: A wearable proximity warning device called SIMS (Surrounding Intelligent Motion Sensor) is provided that uses a novel method of processing images from a high frame rate digital camera to detect human threats from behind and determine if there are any approaching threats by using novel pixel counting and threat detection analysis algorithms. The device is worn on the back of the body either by use of a belt clip or with chest straps. The user may use select from a variety of warning options from the device including audible warning tones, device vibration or smartphone SMS/MMS text messaging. Stored video is saved by the SIMS device and may be periodically uploaded to secure cloud storage. The device contains a rechargeable battery that may be recharged using a USB port.

The respective corrective data includes a plurality of residual values to transform the nodes of the reference color table to a customized color table for use with a selected media type of the plurality of media types.

Abstract: A method for designating, by a user agent supporting multiple carriers in a wireless communication network, one assigned carrier as an anchor carrier, at least one assigned carrier as an inactive carrier, and at least one assigned carrier as an active carrier. The method can also include receiving a command from an enhanced node B causing a first carrier to transition from an inactive carrier to an active carrier. Additionally, the method can include responsive to reception of the command, monitoring a control channel corresponding to the first carrier. Further, the method can also include receiving downlink control information (DCI) via the control channel. The method can also include responsive to reception of the DCI, starting a timer, and deactivating the first carrier at the expiration of the timer.

Abstract: A dehumidifier includes a desiccant, first and second fans, and a bracket. The first fan generates a process airflow through a first portion of the desiccant as it rotates in order to provide dehumidification. The second fan generates a reactivation airflow through a second portion of the desiccant as it rotates in order to dry the desiccant. The bracket is configured to mount the first fan within the dehumidifier. The bracket includes a first portion coupled to the first fan that supports weight of the first fan when the dehumidifier is in an upright position. The bracket also includes a support member coupled to the first portion and a side of the dehumidifier. The side member supports weight of the first fan when the dehumidifier is in a horizontal position.

Abstract: Examples of systems and methods for matching a base mesh to a target mesh for a virtual avatar or object are disclosed. The systems and methods may be configured to automatically match a base mesh of an animation rig to a target mesh, which may represent a particular pose of the virtual avatar or object. Base meshes may be obtained by manipulating an avatar or object into a particular pose, while target meshes may be obtain by scanning, photographing, or otherwise obtaining information about a person or object in the particular pose. The systems and methods may automatically match a base mesh to a target mesh using rigid transformations in regions of higher error and non-rigid deformations in regions of lower error.

Abstract: A method and system for negotiating a secure device-to-device communications channel between a first computing device and a second computing device, wherein the first computing device is associated with a first user and the second computing device is associated with a second user. The method comprises receiving, at a server, a first connection request comprising first address data and a first cryptographic key associated with the first computing device, the first connection request being received over a first secure communications channel, and receiving, at the server, a second connection request comprising second address data and a second cryptographic key associated with the second computing device, the second connection request being received over a second secure communications channel.

Abstract: Liquid submersion cooling systems are described that use a cooling liquid, for example a dielectric cooling liquid, to submersion cool an array of electronic devices. In some embodiments described herein, rather than using pump pressure to return the cooling liquid back to a cooling liquid reservoir, gravity can be used to return the cooling liquid to a reservoir via a cooling liquid gravity return manifold, and a pump can only be used on the liquid supply side to deliver the cooling liquid to each electronic device.

Abstract: A system and method for provisioning a push notification session via a communications network between an application on a client terminal and a server corresponding to the application. In one aspect, a push provisioning entity transmits a message to the client terminal, whereby to configure the client terminal into a state in which it is able to request a push notification session with the server. An application on the client terminal can then request establishment of a push notification session by transmitting a push notification session request message to the push provisioning entity. The push provisioning entity generates a token for use in validating the push notification session, associates the generated token with the application and transmits the token to the application, which uses it to establish the push notification session.
