Abstract: The present disclosure involves systems, software, and computer implemented methods for automatically providing a lending offer for loyalty points based on a customer account analysis. One example method includes initiating an offer analysis for a customer account associated with a particular customer and storing an account balance and a point deficit balance. The offer analysis determines whether to provide an offer for a point loan, and is based on profile information of the customer, a current point balance, and a reward identified from the loyalty account. If an offer is to be provided, an offer for a loan of points equal to the difference between the current point balance of a loyalty account and the point value cost of the reward is transmitted to a client device of the customer. If accepted, the current point balance and the point deficit are both incremented by the amount of the offer.

Abstract: Highlighting key portions of text within a document is described. A document having text is obtained, and key portions of the document are determined using summarization techniques. Key portion data indicative of the key portions is generated and maintained for output to generate a highlighted document in which highlight overlays are displayed over or proximate the determined key portions of the text within the document. In one or more implementations, reader interactions with the highlighted document are monitored to generate reader feedback data. The reader feedback data may then be combined with the output of the summarization techniques in order to adjust the determined key portions. In some cases, the reader feedback data may also be used to improve the summarization techniques.

The second set of nodes have a color difference outside the error threshold.

Abstract: A method and system for increasing process performance in a biological process comprising at least one process step, the method comprising: (a) an identification phase, in which at least seven factors are identified, wherein a factor is defined as a feature of or within a process that when modified will affect the performance of the process, and wherein the factors are selected from at least one process factor and at least one genetic factor; (b) a factor screening phase, in which individual and combined contributions to process performance of each of the at least seven factors are determined, such that at least one multi-factorial interaction is identified; and (c) a refinement phase, in which higher order interactions that result in an increase in process performance between the at least seven factors are identified and tested. The method may be incorporated within automated laboratory and design of experiment systems.

Abstract: A laser detector apparatus (1) is provided, where a pixel array (3) is arranged behind a lens arrangement (4) such that distant objects (9) (in general, those at infinity) are out of focus at the pixel array. The image from the pixel array is evaluated by a computer processor (6) to detect such out of focus images which will be of a known size and shape (generally circular spots of known width). This can enable distant laser threats to be readily distinguished from nearby bright objects (10), whilst also protecting the pixel array from powerful laser sources (because the laser energy is not focussed to a point, on the pixel array it is less likely to damage the pixel array).
