  • Patent number: 9970723
Abstract: A trigger mechanism for a firearm includes a sear which interacts with a trigger. The sear and trigger are held in contact by a sear block. The sear block has dogs which engage respective locking surfaces on the sear and trigger. Pivoting motion of the sear block disengages the dogs from the trigger and sear and allows the trigger to pivot and release the sear to discharge the firearm. When the dogs are engaged with the sear and trigger the resistance to inadvertent discharge due to inertial loads imposed on the mechanism when the firearm is dropped is increased.

  • Patent number: 9964372
Abstract: An ambidextrous magazine catch for a firearm has a body movable on the frame of the firearm. A dog is rotatably mounted on the body. The dog has a jaw which is movable toward and away from the magazine well upon either motion of the body or rotation of the dog. The jaw engages a magazine in the magazine well. A plunger engaged with the body effects rotation of the dog through a cam surface on the plunger and a cam follower on the dog.

  • Publication number: 20180117479
Abstract: A smart toy is provided. The smart toy includes a housing forming a zoomorphic shell for housing internal components. The smart toy also includes a microphone for receiving an audio signal from a child and a speaker for playing a responsive audio signal to the child. The smart toy further includes an actuator button and a microprocessor for establishing a voice call with a remote server when the actuator button is pressed. The microprocessor processes the audio signal received from the child and sends the audio signal to the remote server. The remote server processes the audio signal using a dialog engine and a knowledge database to generate the responsive audio signal which is tailored to the child and responsive to the audio signal. The remote server sends the responsive audio signal to the microprocessor to be played to the child.

  • Publication number: 20180094229
Abstract: A system and method for generating wort utilizing steam injection heating and stratified flow. The system mixes a fine ground grain with water to form a slurry. The slurry is pumped through a steam injection heater to form a mash. The heated mash enters into a stratified vessel that creates a stratified temperature profile from a first end to a second end. The stratified heating vessel allows the mash to flow from the first end to the second end without internal mixing. After retention within the mash coil, the wort is directed to a mash filtration unit. After filtration, the wort enters into a boil kettle and is heated using a second steam injection heater. The boil kettle includes a spray head that directs brewing liquor onto the wort to reduce foam within the boil kettle. Finally, the wort passes through a scraped surface sieve that removes particles from the heated wort.

  • Publication number: 20180081629
Abstract: A method includes interpreting a number of distributed data sets including resource utilization values corresponding to a plurality of distributed hardware resources, creating an approximation of a number of distributions corresponding to the distributed data set, aggregating the created approximations, and the aggregating includes weighting values determined from each of the distributed data sets, such that the aggregated approximations are representative of the distributed data sets. The method further includes creating a number of polynomial terms in response to the created approximations, thereby providing a utilization profile, and solving for a utilization percentile value within the aggregated approximations, where the solving is performed without reference to the distributed data set.

  • Patent number: 9922668
Abstract: An estimate of a fractional chirp rate of a signal may be computed by using multiple frequency representations of the signal. A first frequency representation may be computed using a first fractional chirp rate and a first score may be computed using the first frequency representation that indicates a match between the first fractional chirp rate and a fractional chirp rate of the signal. A second frequency representation may be computed using a second fractional chirp rate and a second score may be computed using the second frequency representation that indicates a match between the second fractional chirp rate and the fractional chirp rate of the signal. The fractional chirp rate of the signal may be estimated using the first score and the second score, for example, by selecting a fractional chirp rate corresponding to a highest score.

  • Publication number: 20170328656
Abstract: A pistol has a bolt with a surface that contacts the cartridge in the magazine to next be chambered. The bolt is mounted within the slide. As the bolt moves with the slide out of battery the surface exerts a force on the cartridge in the direction of motion of the slide. The force counteracts inertial forces on the cartridge imposed by recoil of the pistol.
