Abstract: Some embodiments provide a region-based method for sharing photos between devices. The method establishes an image-sharing event for a particular region, which in some embodiments is defined in terms of one or more geographic attributes (e.g., a latitude, a longitude, and one or more shape attributes that define a shape about the intersection of the latitude and the longitude). The method then allows devices that enter the particular region to join the image-sharing event, so that (1) the devices can capture and add photos for the event, and (2) they can view and save photos captured by other devices that joined the event. To facilitate the sharing of the photos, the method of some embodiments makes the photos that are captured for the event available for viewing for a period of time after the event has ended. This extra time provides the event participants more time to view and save photos captured for the event.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an apparatus, a system, and a method of manufacturer for a magnetic, self-retracting, auto-aligning electrical connector. The apparatus includes a first conductor and a first magnet configured to magnetically couple with a second magnet, wherein magnetic coupling causes a change in a magnetic field of a magnetically coupled combination of the first magnet and the second magnet and wherein the change in the magnetic field causes electrical coupling of the first conductor and a second conductor. The system includes a first connector comprising a first magnet and a first conductor and a second connector comprising a second magnet and a second conductor, wherein magnetic coupling causes a change in a magnetic field of a magnetically coupled combination of the first magnet and the second magnet and wherein the change in the magnetic field causes electrical coupling of the first conductor and the second conductor.

Abstract: A local connection and sharing system includes a first local IHS that includes a plurality of communication systems, and a second local IHS that includes at least one communication system. The first local IHS receives communication capabilities of the second local IHS using one of its communication systems and uses those communication capabilities to select a first communication system to provide a peer-to-peer connection with the second local IHS. The first local IHS then provides the second local IHS access through the peer-to-peer connection to a first data storage area that is coupled to the first IHS. The first local IHS then performs at least one of (1) sending data that is stored in the first data storage area through the peer-to-peer connection to the second local IHS, and (2) storing data that is received through the peer-to-peer connection from the second local IHS in the first data storage area.

Abstract: Disclosed systems include an expandable diameter stylus including an elongated body, a writing surface disposed on an end of the elongated body, and a variable diameter sheath including a helical weave along at least a portion of the elongated body. In certain embodiments the variable diameter grip may have a first diameter when the expandable diameter stylus is positioned within a stylus garage of a portable computing system. The tail of each projectile includes a set of clips which engage the nose of a trailing projectile in the stack. Projectiles may be withdrawn from barrel and unclipped as required by the user.
