  • Patent number: 8065079
Abstract: A method of processing location data at a portable computing device is provided and includes receiving information associated with a user defined location at the portable computing device. The information includes a central point and an entry indication perimeter. An entry alert associated with the user defined location is received at the portable computing device. The location of the portable computing device is monitored to determine when the portable computing device crosses the entry indication perimeter associated with the central point of the user defined location indicating that the portable computing device is proximate to the user defined location. The method further includes switching the portable computing device from a roaming state to an entry state indicating that the portable computing device is about to enter the user defined location. An indication can be provided to the user that the portable computing device has switched to the entry state.

  • Publication number: 20110192013
Abstract: A decorative trim assembly and the process of manufacturing includes providing a clip, supplying an elongated metal bright strip, and inserting the clip inside the metal bright strip. Subsequently, bending the assembled bright strip with the clip along its longitudinal extent provides a final conformation of the structure. It is subsequently secured to a weatherstrip by snap-fit operation. The end customer maintains the ability to service the decorative trim piece independently of the weatherstrip system.

  • Publication number: 20110088972
Abstract: An elevator work deck for use during elevator construction including a first support having a top surface and a bottom surface, and a second support having a top surface and a bottom surface. There are means for positioning the first support and the second support in abutting edge to edge relation so that the top surface of the first support and the top surface of the second support define a planar horizontal working surface when assembled in an operative position. Fastener receivers are positioned on the bottom surface of each of the first support and the second support. There are clamping fastener assemblies engaging the fastener receivers to clamp the first support and the second support to elevator car sling structural beams.

  • Publication number: 20100192539
Abstract: A propulsion thrust control system and method for controlling thrust in a rocket motor includes configuring valves of an energized rocket motor to an initial total valve area according to a total thrust command. The total thrust command is converted into a commanded propellant mass flow discharge rate. A varying total valve area is computed from an error between the commanded propellant mass flow discharge rate and a calculated propellant mass flow discharge rate. The valves are reconfigured according to a distribution of the varying total valve area. The propulsion system includes a pressure vessel with valves and a controller for regulating the valve area according to a propellant mass flow discharge rate from the pressure vessel.

  • Patent number: 7703642
Abstract: A sipper type capping assembly engageable with a necked container so as not to pool condensation on the disc seal. It has a unitary molding (1) adapted to define a detachable overcap (4) and at least the container engaging skirt (9). An insert (2) and a disc seal member (17) located within molding (1), and a nozzle component (3) above the seal member is carried through the insert yet moveable relative thereto. In a non-dispensing condition, the nozzle component (3) and the insert (2) provide closure. In the dispensing condition of the nozzle component (3) relative to the insert (2) there is defined a liquid egress passageway. The insert and the nozzle component, when in or notionally considered in the non-dispensing condition, define together with the molding a fully enclosed space about part of the nozzle component. When in or notionally considered in at least the dispensing condition, the molding and the disc seal member fully enclose the nozzle component.

  • Publication number: 20090313693
Abstract: A method and system for electronic access security uses touches and movements on a touch sensitive surface to determine graphical passcode that are used in a manner similar to passwords. Graphical passcodes comprise various combinations of swipes, taps or drags on a touchscreen surface as defined by a user. A user's selected graphical passcode is stored in memory for comparison to subsequent entries of graphical passcode in order to authenticate the users. An envelope may be generated to define a range of acceptable pressure, speed, coordinate positions or other parameters, as a function of time or position, required for passcode authentication. The envelope may be stored in a computer memory and is used to authenticate a user by determine whether an entered graphical passcode falls within the envelope.

The modesty panel includes a chassis and a panel door swingably attached to the chassis into and out of a closed position where the chassis and panel door define an enclosed space. The chassis includes power and data terminals for providing electrical power and data access to the laptop. The chassis further includes a removable partition with containers for holding the laptop and peripherals within the chassis. With the panel door closed, the chassis and panel door cooperatively define a passage that is configured to receive a transmission cable for interconnecting terminals and the laptop. The modesty panel is configured to securely store the laptop in the enclosed space by restricting removal of the laptop when the panel door is closed.
