  • Publication number: 20170031177
Abstract: An eyeglass frame having selectively interchangeable temples has a conventional frame front, combined with specially-designed hinges and the temples. Each temple has a longitudinal cavity of generally rectangular cross section, at the hinge end thereof, that is in communication with a rectangular aperture that opens to the inner surface of the temple. Each temple is attached to a frame front end piece via an interconnection clip having a single loop that is sandwiched between two loops that are unitary with the frame front, and with the three loops being held together with a pivot screw, thereby forming a butt hinge. Each interconnection clip incorporates a single-barb spring clip that slides into the longitudinal cavity of a temple. The barb locks against a forward edge of the rectangular aperture. By depressing the barb with a finger, the temple and the interconnection clip can be pulled apart.

The EMSEL system includes a weapon adapter coupled to the weapon, an electronics mount coupled to the weapon sight, a drive assembly coupled to the weapon adapter and the electronics mount, and a controller. The controller is configured to determine that the weapon is changing in angular orientation. The controller is also configured, in response to the determination that the weapon is changing in angular orientation, to control the drive assembly to adjust an angle of the electronics mount relative to the weapon while the weapon is changing in angular orientation such that the electronics mount remains substantially at a predetermined angle relative to the target.

  • Patent number: 9398143
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for generating a baseline use profile that indicates typical patterns of use of a device over time, transitioning the device to a challenge mode when sensor data indicates a deviation from the baseline use profile by more than a permissible tolerance, presenting challenges to the user while in the challenge mode, and determining whether to restrict or allow access to device functionality based on user responses to the challenges.

  • Patent number: 9357054
Abstract: A handheld electronic device determines its position in a moving vehicle based on changes in air pressure that occur when the vehicle undergoes acceleration. Based on a direction of acceleration that correlates to a subsequent reduction in air pressure, a determination is made as to whether the device is in the front left, front right, back left, or back right quadrant of the vehicle. The device then alters its configuration based on the quadrant in which it is located.

  • Publication number: 20160060997
Abstract: A frac head apparatus has a body with an internal bore extending therethrough, a first flow bore formed through the body so as to have an inner end opening to the internal bore of the body and an outer end opening to an outer side of the body, and a second flow bore formed through the body so as to have an inner end opening to the internal bore of the body and an outer end opening at an outer side of the body. The inner end of the first and second flow bores are positioned at different levels within the body. Each of the first and second flow bores has a longitudinal axis offset from and not intersecting a longitudinal axis of the internal bore of the body such that a fluid flow through the flow bores is directed toward a wall of the internal bore offset from an opposite side of the wall of the internal bore from the inner ends of the flow bores.

  • Publication number: 20150307237
Abstract: Single use containers designed to store and dispense liquid substances having a wide variation in viscosities. The container includes a container body that defines a storage compartment for storing the liquid substance and is provided with a neck including a seal positioned in the neck to seal a liquid substance in the storage compartment during storage. The container also includes a cap defining a recess and being adapted for engaging the neck and including structure for piercing the seal and a channel which passes through the structure for piercing the seal to the recess. An applicator is located in the recess such that the applicator and recess together define a chamber between an end of the channel and the applicator to allow liquid to flow from said channel into said chamber.

  • Patent number: 8959504
Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems allow for updates (e.g., questions) to be provided via sync calls to a server (e.g., in determining whether (non-question) software updates should be installed on a client device), where the total number of updates exceeds single sync call server limitations. For example, relationships between updates may be determined and updates may be grouped into two or more sets based upon the relationships, where different sets can independently be transmitted to the server in different sync calls. Grouping updates according to the policies provided mitigates errors that may otherwise occur when making multi-sync calls (e.g., asking a second question before a first question where the second question should follow the first question because the relevance of the second question depends upon an answer to the first question).

  • Patent number: 8914312
Abstract: Method of selectively predicting hydrocarbon concentration in a sample of unknown hydrocarbon concentration, by (i) separately subjecting two or more samples of known hydrocarbon concentration to infrared (IR) radiation, (ii) separately detecting an IR signal from the samples of known hydrocarbon concentration, (iii) analyzing the IR signals using a multivariate chemometric technique to produce a training data set, (iv) generating a predictive model for hydrocarbon concentration based on the training data set, (v) subjecting the unknown sample to infrared (IR) radiation, (vi) detecting an IR signal from the unknown sample, (vii) applying the predictive model to the IR signal from the unknown sample. Thereafter, as step (viii), hydrocarbon concentration in the unknown sample is selectively predicted.

  • Publication number: 20140278891
Abstract: A residual benefit program where recipients of non-consumable goods receive a good with benefits, can recycle that good for benefits, and redeem the benefits at some point in the future. The program accumulates credits for a beneficiary elected by a primary purchaser. Credits may accumulate due to purchase of a product, recycling of a product, or via interest over time. Upon redemption of the accumulated credits, the beneficiary receives the reward chosen by the primary purchaser. The reward or the redeemer who provides the reward is set by the primary purchaser for the beneficiary and may be modified over time.
