  • Publication number: 20210382946
Abstract: A method, system, and computer-usable medium are disclosed for answering general background questions on a topic from documents with glossary sections, A set of documents with glossaries is received from which a set of terms and associated glossary entries are extracted, where each term has a corresponding glossary entry. Association is performed of related glossary entries. The associations is based on a similarity algorithm to form glossary clusters where each glossary cluster refers to one or more glossary entries. A query with query terms tailored to general information is received. The glossary clusters are ranked relevance to the query terms to form a ranked set. A set of glossary clusters meeting a high ranked threshold is selected and provided.

  • Publication number: 20210369143
Abstract: Methods, systems and devices are provided for utilizing user movement data obtained from one or more wearable sensors during physical activity to compare individualized changes overtime, for example typical versus atypical movement patterns, with subgroup analyses for assessing changes between other users in order to develop an assessment of movement for, for example, tracking injury risk, performance, and/or rehabilitation. The movement information may comprise multi-sensor, high dimensional datasets. Techniques are provided for integrating human movement data from one or more wearable sensor with one or more additional data sources to define an individualized movement profile of a user's movements. The user or another individual may be notified when the user's movements deviate from this individualized movement profile.

  • Publication number: 20210320715
Abstract: A hybrid satellite communication system in which a hub station transmits signals to remote stations through a satellite at a relatively low frequency unaffected by weather effects and in which the remote stations transmit signals to the hub station at a relatively higher frequency which enables use of more economical equipment at remote stations. The hub station senses signal quality or strength received from each remote station and transmits power control signals to remote stations with poor signal strengths to cause such remote stations to increase output power to overcome weather effects. The power control signals are transmitted on the lower frequency to prevent the power control signals from being masked by the weather effects. A communications satellite can the either geostationary or low Earth orbit (LEO). Data can also be transmitted on the relatively low frequency. The communication system can utilize antennae with dish, array and other suitable configurations.

  • Patent number: 11130696
Abstract: A method for reconditioning a glass manufacturing system includes establishing a reducing atmosphere in a glass melting vessel and draining a glass melt composition from the melting vessel while the reducing atmosphere is in the vessel. • Publication number: 20210287045
Abstract: A neural network is trained using transfer learning to analyze medical image data, including 2D, 3D, and 4D images and models. Where the target medical image data is associated with a species or problem class for which there is not sufficient labeled data available for training, the system may create enhanced training datasets by selecting labeled data from other species, and/or labeled data from different problem classes. During training and analysis, image data is chunked into portions that are small enough to obfuscate the species source, while being large enough to preserve meaningful context related to the problem class (e.g., the image portion is small enough that it can't be determined whether it is from a human or canine, but abnormal liver tissues are still identifiable). A trained checkpoint may then be used to provide automated analysis and heat mapping of input images via a cloud platform or other application.

  • Publication number: 20210278956
Abstract: Users can switch between applications using contextual interface elements. These elements can include icons for applications determined to likely be accessed by the user for a current context. Information is gathered to determine the current context, then information such as patterns of historical usage are utilized to determine and rank the applications by likelihood of use. Different contexts can include different icons, and a given context can include different icons for different points in time or locations. A user can access a contextual interface element by performing a swipe motion, for example. The user can continue the motion to an area associated with an icon of interest, and perform an action such as a tap or release to cause the associated application to be launched. Such an approach enables a user to quickly and easily launch another application independent of the application currently active on the device.

  • Patent number: 11093774
Abstract: Embodiments relate to an intelligent computer platform to create a document specific error correction model for amending OCR values. An image of a document is received and OCR is applied to the received image. Text is extracted from at least one static content field and the extracted text is compared to stored text from known static content. Responsive to a deviation identified in the comparison, a document specific error correction model is created and leveraged to correct OCR output. The model generates one or more variants for the dynamic content field associated with the static content field having the identified deviation. The generated variant(s) is subject to processing and one of the variants is selected as amended document content. A new document version is created from the amendment, the new document version including corrected OCR output.

  • Patent number: 11068654
Abstract: An approach is provided in which an information handling system analyzes a message tone vector corresponding to a message against a target tone vector corresponding to a recipient of the message. The message tone vector includes a set of message tone attributes and the target tone vector includes a set of target tone thresholds. The information handling system, in response to determining a difference between the message tone vector and the target tone vector, creates a variant message by substituting words in the message with one or more similar words based on the target tone vector. In turn, the information handling system sends the variant message to the recipient.

  • Publication number: 20210211688
Abstract: Methods and systems for frame rate scalability are described. Support is provided for input and output video sequences with variable frame rate and variable shutter angle across scenes, or for input video sequences with fixed input frame rate and input shutter angle, but allowing a decoder to generate a video output at a different output frame rate and shutter angle than the corresponding input values. Techniques allowing a decoder to decode more computationally-efficiently a specific backward compatible target frame rate and shutter angle among those allowed are also presented.

  • Publication number: 20210211738
Abstract: Given a sequence of images in a first codeword representation, methods, processes, and systems are presented for image reshaping using rate distortion optimization, wherein reshaping allows the images to be coded in a second codeword representation which allows more efficient compression than using the first codeword representation. Syntax methods for signaling reshaping parameters are also presented.

  • Patent number: 11047410
Abstract: An apparatus for aligning and shimming plates being anchored to a substratum having a plurality of threaded anchor holes coaxially aligned with corresponding apertures and coaxial threaded bores through each plate. The apparatus includes an external threaded cylindrical shim having a shimming surface and a second (outer) surface adapted to accept rotary force for rotational movement and adjustment of the separation produced by the shim between the substratum and the anchored plate. For anchoring, the 2nd surface of the shim further includes a counterbored or countersunk hole having a shoulder including a narrower passthrough aperture aligned with the threaded anchor hole, through which an anchor screw extends for rotational mating with the threaded anchor hole. The anchor screw also has a head wider than the passthrough aperture, and adapted to accept rotary force for rotational movement and fixing the shim in place.
