  • Patent number: 7536181
Abstract: A platform system for a mobile terminal for a wireless telecommunications system. The platform system comprises a mobile terminal platform assembly including a software services component having a plurality functional software units, a hardware component having a plurality of hardware units associated with and controlled by the plurality of functional software units, and an interface component having at least one interface for providing access to the mobile terminal platform assembly. The platform system further includes application software loaded, installed and run in said mobile terminal platform assembly via the at least one interface of the interface component. The mobile terminal platform assembly is adapted to be manufactured as a unit and transferred to a user who then loads, installs and runs the application software in the assembly to provide the platform system.
