  • Patent number: 5088968
Abstract: A power transmission for driving a vehicle wherein a high-low speed changer is disposed between an engine and a primary speed change mechanism. The speed changer comprises a planetary gear mechanism provided between an input shaft and an output shaft, a speed increasing clutch for causing the gear mechanism to effect a speed increase, and a direct coupling clutch for coupling the input shaft to the output shaft via the gear mechanism without speed change. Since the torque transmitted to the speed change mechanism is small, the transmission can be compact in its entirety.

  • Patent number: 4989302
Abstract: A piezoelectric buzzer comprising a case having the shape of a bottomed cylinder, a piezoelectric diaphragm fixedly disposed within the case, a cover plate fitted in the open end of the case, and terminals integrally combined with the cover plate and each having one end in contact with the piezoelectric diaphragm and the other end projecting outside from the cover plate. Since the cover plate and the terminals are combined together by insert moldings, no gap is formed between the cover plate and the terminals, no sealing work for sealing gaps between the cover plate and the terminals is necessary, the manufacturing process is simplified, and the piezoelectric element is not exposed to the external atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 4638851
Abstract: An apparatus in which a metal strip is passed in contact partly around the outer circumferences of a number of spaced cooling rolls through which coolant passes. The apparatus includes temperature detectors for detecting the temperature of the strip before contact with each of the cooling rolls, and coolant temperature regulators controlled in accordance with the detected temperature of the strip to adjust the temperature of the coolant passing through each cooling roll to a range which limits the temperature drop of the strip such that unacceptable irregularities or distortions in the configuration of the strip cannot occur. The coolant used for each cooling roll is selected with a boiling point appropriate to the respective detected temperature for each roll. In the preferred arrangement, further temperature detectors are provided for each cooling roll to detect the temperature of the coolant, and output signals from both detectors are inputted to a control for regulating a flow rate valve.

  • Patent number: 4450897
Abstract: An air-conditioning method and system controls the temperature of air outputted from an air conditioner outlet duct into the passenger compartment of a vehicle at a constant level, with a small time constant of recovery, by adjusting the air mix door opening percentage. The air-conditioning method comprises the steps of calculating a target outlet duct air temperature on the basis of a preset passenger compartment air temperature, a detected outside-air temperature, and a detected passenger compartment air temperature in accordance with a heat equilibrium equation and calculating an air mix door opening percentage on the basis of the calculated target outlet duct air temperature in accordance with a linear interpolation between two endpoints of a selected one of three characteristics representative of relationships between outlet duct air temperature and air mix door opening percentage respectively stored for outside-air introduction mode, inside-air recirculation mode, and cooler compressor operation mode.

  • Patent number: 4408713
Abstract: An automobile air conditioning system is provided with a control system for controlling the flow rate of hot or cool air discharged into the passenger compartment. The air flow rate is controlled in relation to the sensed value of the ambient air temperature and the temperature of a heat source of the air conditioning system. If the sensed temperatures are lower than predetermined reference levels, the air flow rate is gradually increased at a moderate increasing rate. The air flow rate is more rapidly increased when the sensed heat source temperature is higher than the reference level.
