  • Patent number: 6910460
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to maintain stable air-fuel ratio on a venturi type fuel supply device, irrespective of the external load such as air-conditioner and electrical load, and to provide stable engine speed on idling state. A venturi type fuel supply device comprises a venturi chamber located in the upstream of a throttle valve and a passage for supplying air-fuel mixture gas into the venturi chamber. The passage is further equipped with a variable air bleeder valve for taking in air. When the operating state of the external load of the engine changes, the opening of the air bleeder valve is adjusted in accordance with the change so as to control the air-fuel mixture ratio of the mixture gas incoming from the passage into the venturi chamber.

  • Patent number: 6349704
Abstract: The variation of the A/F ratio and the deterioration of driving feeling or exhaust owing to the response delay of air intake against the fuel injection is suppressed, in an engine control apparatus for controlling an intake air flow based on the torque or the fuel injection amount. The apparatus causes the phase of fuel injection to fit to that of air intake. In order to fit the phase of fuel injection to that of air intake, an apparatus for delaying the fuel injection or an apparatus for speeding up the air intake is used.

  • Patent number: 6308687
Abstract: There is disclosed a fuel supply control apparatus for a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine having an injector with air assist, a reasonable system in which injection is made during intake stroke when air assist air is supplied by the air assist, and injection is made during exhaust stroke when no air assist is effected, and an air assist volume, a droplet size and an operating condition are combined. With this construction, the fuel injection timing is shifted from the intake stroke side to the exhaust stroke side in accordance with an air assist volume so as to enhance the exhaust gas quality in which optimum micro-granulation and atomization of fuel are held, the fuel efficiency and the drivability.

  • Patent number: 5855195
Abstract: A flow controller in a flow control valve for an internal combustion engine. When the flow control valve is operated in a closing direction upon the occurrence of an abnormal state in the flow control valve such as sticking, resonance frequency vibration is applied to the valve so that a sliding resistance force of a screw mechanism can be lowered and the valve can be closed. To prevent problems with the flow control valve such as being out-of-control, a setting time is added to a drive period according to the variation in the motor torque. Because the flow control valve can be reliably closed, and an out-of-control condition of the flow control valve can be prevented, an incorrect operation of the engine can be avoided.

  • Patent number: 5819530
Abstract: A conversion efficiency of a catalyst is determined by a cross correlation function of a cross-correlation between an output of an oxygen sensor at the upstream of the catalyst and an output of an oxygen sensor at the downstream of the catalyst, to thereby monitor deterioration index of the catalyst. Then, an air and fuel ratio is obtained from at least one of the outputs of the two oxygen sensors, to thereby adjust a fuel supply quantity, so that the fuel supply quantity can be controlled even during a period when the catalyst is being analyzed, without deviating the air and fuel ratio from a target air and fuel ratio.

  • Patent number: 5555870
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for sensing an air flow into a cylinder of an internal combustion engine are arranged to determine a number of revolutions of the engine, determine a pressure of an intake pipe of the engine, and calculate an air flow Qc into a cylinder of the engine, based on the number of revolutions and the pressure of the intake pipe by the linear expression of Qc=.alpha.P+.beta., in which .alpha. is a coefficient indicating a gradient of a linear expression and defined according to the number of revolutions, .beta. is a coefficient indicating an offset value and defined according to the number of revolutions, and P is a pressure of the intake pipe. The method and the apparatus for controlling fuel of the internal combustion engine operate to generate a fuel flow signal according to the air flow into the cylinder determined by the above method and feed fuel to the internal combustion engine at a flow rate corresponding to a fuel flow signal.

  • Patent number: 5315484
Abstract: A printed circuit board is provided with two soldering land portions on respective lead lines. Each of the soldering land portions has two sub-soldering land portions and a narrow connecting portion for connecting the sub-soldering portions, so that the land portions are substantially H-shaped. When the printed circuit board is dip soldered after being coated with a solder-proof layer exposing the soldering land portions, solder sticks to the soldering land portions in such a way that it is thicker on the sub-soldering land portions but thinner on the narrow connecting portions. Thereafter, the synchro contacts of a camera flash unit are positioned on the respective narrow connecting portions and soldered to the lead lines by a soldering iron or hot air.
