Abstract: A high speed optoelectronic subassembly in an optoelectronic package is disclosed that includes a dielectric support having a first electrical trace on a surface thereof and a dielectric member mounted on the surface of the support having a second electrical trace thereon. The support extends laterally a distance greater than the member to form a shelf. A dielectric step is positioned on the shelf abutting an end of the member and a laser is positioned on the shelf adjacent the step so as to be light accessible external to the subassembly. The laser and the step have surfaces equal in height and cooperate to provide a mounting platform. A resistive element is positioned on the mounting platform and electrically connected to the laser, the resistive element and laser being electrically externally accessible through the traces.

  • Publication number: 20030067947
Abstract: A laser transmitter with a laser diode and first and second feedback loops for maintaining a constant average laser power output and constant extinction level. A photo detector samples and detects transmitter laser light. The detector output is split, with one portion sent to a low-pass detector circuit for detecting the average laser power and using the detected signal to control a laser power current bias source. The other portion of the detector output is delivered to a high-pass detector circuit for detecting the amplitude of the modulation for outputting a signal to control a modulation laser current source that adds to the power current bias for a logic “1” state and does not add to the power bias for a logic “0” state.

  • Patent number: 6224824
Abstract: Disclosed is an alloy steel of high corrosion resistance to hot molten salts containing chlorides and/or alkali oxides. The alloy steel is manufactured from a composition comprising 20-40 weight % of Ni, 0-8 weight % of Cr, 0.05 weight % or less of C, 0.5 weight % or less of Si, 1.0 weight % or less of Mn, 0.05 weight % or less of S, and the balance of Fe to total weight. With a low Cr content, the alloy steel is superb in the corrosion resistance to chloride and/or alkali oxide-containing molten salts, including LiCl—Li2O. Also, the alloy steel shows stable corrosion resistance to molten salts even at high temperature as well as low temperature in addition to being superior to workability. Thus, the alloy steel can be processed into plates, bars or pipes which are used for structural materials and structural components for treating molten salts.

  • Patent number: 6120531
Abstract: Fiber, fabric, clothes, and shoes having a material incorporated therein which, when stimulated by energy, emits a predetermined spectrum having a first electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength range selected from the group consisting of about 0.2 .mu.m to about 50 .mu.m, and about 0.4 .mu.m to about 25 .mu.m, and a second radiation having a wavelength range selected from the group consisting of about 7500 .mu.m to about 100,000 .mu.m, and about 5400 .mu.m to about 500,000 .mu.m, similar to radiation generated by the human body over similar ranges. A reflecting layer is adjacent to a fabric having the material incorporated therein such that body heat is conserved so as to achieve a therapeutic result. The energy stimulating the material can be body heat, electrical heat, magnetic energy, or other energy forms.

  • Patent number: 5814078
Abstract: A method and apparatus utilizing the action of simulated bio-frequency spectrum signals generated upon human beings, animals, plants, and micro-organisms to regulate and improve the status of growth and survival of said organisms. The simulated bio-frequency spectrum signals are generated through the excitation of one or a plurality of chemical elements and their compounds contained in the simulated bio-frequency spectrum signal generator by certain form of energy. Said simulated bio-frequency spectrum signals are broad band signals with wavelengths ranging from micrometers to centimeters. Said signals act upon certain sites of the organisms, elicit transition of the atoms, molecules, and electrons in the body of the organism, and cause resonances, thereby the aim of regulating and improving the status of growth of the organism is achieved.

  • Patent number: 5792184
Abstract: This apparatus can generate simulated bio-frequency spectrum signals from 0.2 .mu.m-10 mm. The signals are produced by a simulated bio-spectrum generating component when monomer or compounds of one or more chemical elements in the apparatus are excited by a certain form of energy source (such as thermal energy or magnetic energy ). The simulated bio-spectrum signals are broad signals from .mu.m to mm. Through direct exposure to the affected parts of the body, the transiting of energy levels of the molecules, atoms and electrons, is a cause of the regulating and improving of the status of development and survival of living organisms.
