Abstract: Methods and apparatuses supporting an electrical connection in a manner that eliminates or reduces a danger of electrical sparking are disclosed. A sparkless electrical connector has a conductor, configured to provide flow of electricity between an electrical source and a load, and a resistive element, operatively coupled to the conductor, to resist flow of electricity during a state of partial connection with the electrical source or the load. The resistive element may be not in contact with a terminal of the source or load during a state of full connection. The resistive element may be a coating of an anodized material on a pin of the conductor. The coating provides a resistance sufficient to prevent sparking during connection of the conductor and at least one of the electrical source and the load. Techniques disclosed herein benefit users and manufacturers in the areas of safety, cost, simplicity, and reliability.

Abstract: A method and system for transferring a call from a first device to a second device. The method includes: a) transmitting a notification from a call management server to the second device to indicate that the first device is engaged in a call that is transferable; b) receiving, at the call management server, a transfer request from the second device to transfer the call from the first device to the second device; and c) in response to the receipt of the transfer request, connecting the second device to the call and disconnecting the first device from the call.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus supporting an electrical connection are disclosed. Systems previously equipped with wire interfaces, such as battery terminals, can be equipped with a connector assembly to significantly reduce a hazard of electrical shock to a user. The connector assembly includes a stress relief component that attenuates a force, applied to the stress relief component, to reduce its effect on the connector assembly. By attenuating the force, the connector assembly maintains a substantially fixed position relative to the battery pack component and mitigates a potential for disruption in electrical connectivity. Techniques disclosed herein benefit users of battery packs or other devices as well as manufacturers by increasing safety, reliability, and ergonomics.

Abstract: A method and system of establishing calling preferences for a user are provided. The method includes: defining a user profile containing an association between the user and two or more communication devices, each device having an associated device type; assigning the user to at least one group; obtaining group preferences associated with one or more of the user's groups; determining user preferences for the user based on the group preferences and the device types of the communication devices associated with the user; and storing the user specific preferences in a user profile associated with the user.

Abstract: A method and system for conference call scheduling using e-mail. The method and system can receive and parse an e-mail received from a conference moderator, containing scheduling and participant information and schedule a conference call with minimal further user intervention. In essence, the method and system can operate as a virtual administrative assistant to identify and collect telephone contact information for each of the proposed conference call participants, using a customizable hierarchy of internal and external sources of contact information.

Abstract: A mobile device and a method for providing security to a mobile device having two or more communication domains is provided. The mobile device receives a communication service request. The communication domain of the communication service request is determined, the request domain being one of the two or more communication domains of the mobile device. A set of applicable restrictions is then determined from a list of communication restrictions comprising restrictions on use of services of the mobile device for each of the two or more communications domains. These applicable restrictions are then applied to the communication service request by the mobile device.

Abstract: The invention discloses an electronic apparatus comprising a casing with an input device. The input device comprises a circuit board, a first input module, a fixing module and a second input module. The first input module is disposed on the circuit board and comprises a first fixing portion. The fixing module comprises a first opening, a first accommodating space and a plurality of second fixing portions. The fixing module is disposed on the circuit board. The first input module is disposed in the first accommodating space and protrudes from the first opening. Those second fixing portions are against the first fixing portion to fix the first input module. The second input module is disposed on the fixing module and comprises a second opening. The first input module is exposed from the second opening. Furthermore, the fixing module comprises a second accommodating space for accommodating electronic components on the circuit board.

Abstract: Methods and systems for providing simplified presence for a user are described. The user has a plurality of associated communication devices registered with a communications server, and each communication device enables at least one communication service class. The server has a user data entry associating the user with each of the plurality of communication devices. To hide the details of the user-associated devices from third parties, a virtual device is defined and associated with the user. Presence information received at the server from the various devices is aggregated together to create aggregated presence information that indicates at least the service classes available from the user-associated devices based on the received presence information. A virtual device presence document is generated containing the aggregated presence information and is provided to a presence server as presence information associated with the user.

Abstract: The invention discloses a card socket comprising a base, a first resilient member, a holder, a second resilient member and a driving rod. The base comprises a bottom surface and a side wall with a block portion. The first resilient member is disposed on the bottom surface. The holder is pivotally connected to the base and compresses the first resilient member. The holder comprises an accommodating space, and a card member is removably accommodated in the accommodating space. The second resilient member and the driving rod are also disposed in the accommodating space. The driving rod comprises a hook and a recess. The hook is against the second resilient member and is capable of driving the card member to move. The block portion restrains the driving rod on the base. Furthermore, the restriction between the driving rod and the block portion can be removed through the recess.

The through holes are defined through the circuit board and are arranged in the light emitting diode mounting segment. The metal rods are mounted respectively in the through holes. The electrical nodes are mounted on the top around the light emitting diode mounting segment. The first layer of heat-dissipating paste is coated on the light emitting diode mounting segment and contacts with the metal rods in the through holes. The heat-dissipating metal block is attached to the bottom of the circuit board. The second layer of heat-dissipating device is mounted between the circuit board and the metal block and contacts with the metal rods.

Abstract: A motorcycle swing-preventing device includes a fixing base mounted on the steering shaft of a motorcycle head. A connecting member has its universal bearing pivotally combined with the fixing base. A swing preventer is disposed with a connecting base having a universal bearing secured with the connecting member. A positioning base is fixed on the motorcycle head, and the damping rod of the swing preventer has one end pivotally combined with the positioning base. Thus, the universal bearing on the connecting base is kept immovable and the swing preventer has its fulcrum shifted to the universal bearing of the connecting member for shortening its swing stroke. The swing preventer can also have its fixing base extending outward properly to form a connecting base with a universal bearing pivotally combined with the fixing base.
