    Abstract: Technologies are described herein for a health monitor that establishes and monitors a set of alive endpoints to be used as substitutes for a dead working window endpoints. The health monitor periodically monitors substitution endpoints. When a request manager determines that a working window endpoint is dead, the request manager sends a request to the health monitor for a substitute endpoint. The health monitor receives the request and identifies an appropriate substitution endpoint from the health monitor endpoints to provide to the request manager to substitute for the dead endpoint. The health monitor releases the identified substitution endpoint to the request manager.

    Abstract: A method for producing an indicator light assembly may include selecting a laser power amount based on the thickness of a plastic housing, and drilling multiple conically shaped cutouts in the plastic housing, each creating a respective inner hole with a first diameter and a respective outer hole with a second diameter, the first diameter being larger than the second diameter. The method may include mounting a light source within the plastic housing, positioning the light source near the first holes on the interior side of the plastic housing such that when the light source is enabled, a portion of the emitted light passes through each cutout and is emitted through the second holes on the exterior side of the plastic housing. The second diameter may be small enough that the second holes are not visible to the human eye when the light source is disabled.

    Abstract: A method of adaptive weighting adjustment positioning has the following steps: performing an initialization procedure, determining whether a first feature point is detected; when the first feature point is detected, based on multiple positioning methods, multiple positioning information will be generated, and multiple weightings will be set, and then based on the weightings and the positioning information, calculating the positioning information output; by way of adaptive weighting adjustment among the multiple positioning methods, the multiple positioning methods can be integrated. In this way, even if one of the positioning methods is temporarily unavailable, the positioning information can still be calculated by weighting adjustment between the positioning information of the remaining two available methods, and that allows users to continue to obtain accurate positioning information to confirm the current location.

    Abstract: An image positioning method and an image positioning device for using the same is disclosed. The method finds the position of a vehicle that is driving on a road, and a plurality of signs is arranged on the road. Firstly, an electronic map having a plurality of paths, a plurality reference images, and characteristic positions of the plurality of paths and the plurality reference images is provided. Next, at least two positioning images of the signs closest to the vehicle are sequentially retrieved. The reference image identical to the positioning images are searched on the electronic map and used as characteristic images. When the order of all the characteristic images corresponds to the order of all the positioning images, the position of the vehicle is estimated according to the path corresponding to all the characteristic images and the characteristic positions of all the characteristic images.

During the runtime capability check, the client application (e.g. the browser) attempts to execute different function tests to determine its capabilities. The result information from the function tests are stored. The stored result information is used by the client application during subsequent connections with the server (e.g. the cookie is passed from the mobile computing device to the server). Based on the supported functionality as determined by the stored result information, the rendering code is adapted for, generated and delivered to the computing device by the server. For example, when the client application supports the tested functionality then the server renders the content using full feature rendering. When the client application does not support all of the tested functionality then the server renders the content using limited feature rendering.

    Abstract: A scanner includes an image capturing module, a drive roller assembly, an idle roller assembly, and a guiding structure. The image capturing module is for capturing an image of an object. The drive roller assembly is for driving the object to move along a feeding direction. The idle roller assembly is for preventing a moving direction of the object away from the feeding direction by resiliently pressing the object. A feeding passage is formed between the drive roller assembly and the idle roller assembly. The guiding structure is disposed in front of the feeding passage and for guiding a normal direction of a leading edge of the object to be oblique relative to the feeding direction at an oblique angle. Therefore, the present invention can effectively reduce variation of a resistance force acting on the object as the object moves in the feeding path, which prevents image distortion.
