  • Patent number: 5776362
Abstract: A sludge dehydrating agent which is excellent in storage stability and prevented from becoming water-insoluble during storage and hence can be distributed in the market securely by solving the problem of the conventional dehydrating agents comprising amphoteric polymers that they undergo deterioration and become water-insoluble when stored for long, thus becoming substantially unusable. This dehydrating agent comprises a copolymer composed of cationic vinyl monomer units, vinylic carboxylic acid monomer units and nonionic vinyl monomer units and a salt of a group IIA metal of the periodic table. Preferable examples of the vinylic carboxylic acid monomer include acrylic, methacrylic and crotonic acids, while those of the nonionic vinyl monomer include acrylamide and methacrylamide. The metal salts usable herein include those of mineral acids and organic carboxylic acids, and preferable mineral acid salts include calcium chloride, magnesium chloride and magnesium sulfate.

  • Patent number: 5738184
Abstract: A muffler for a two-stroke internal combustion engine has an expansion chamber into which a rush of exhaust gas is introduced from the engine. In the vicinity of an exhaust gas inlet from the engine into the expansion chamber, the muffler has an external air intake for external air to be suctionally introduced into the expansion chamber by the rush of exhaust gas. With the external air introduced, carbon monoxide (CO) emission into the ambient is reduced.

  • Patent number: 5730832
Abstract: To stabilize bonding strength by concentrating bonding energy upon members to be bonded together, when an overlapped interface of a plurality of members to be bonded together is to be bonded by ultrasonic vibration, heaters 6 and 7 are caused to generate heat to heat the bonding working portion 3d of a resonator 2, whereby bonding energy generated by ultrasonic vibration and bonding energy generated by heating are provided to the interface so that bonding energy can be concentrated upon the interface without increasing the energy of ultrasonic vibration and bonding strength can be stabilized. Further, when electric heaters are used as the heaters 6 and 7, operationability is improved. Moreover, when heater holes 3e and 3f are formed in the resonator 2 and electric heaters are fitted into the holes 3e and 3f, heater installation work is facilitated. The heater may be provided in the mount.

  • Patent number: 5603444
Abstract: To provide an ultrasonic bonding machine in which a resonator is arranged horizontally or vertically while it is supported at both ends and a resonator for use in the same. The interface Wa is placed on the mount 13 arranged in a stationary state in a lower portion of the working space 2 open in forward, right and left directions, the resonator 7 is moved down by the pressure mechanism 3 from above, and the interface Wa is pressure-held properly between the bonding working portion 11 and the mount 13 while it is in a stationary state and bonded with vibration energy of a vertical ultrasonic wave. The resonator 7 is assembled by interconnecting the ultrasonic horn having the bonding working portion 11 and two boosters having support portions by means of screws in such a manner that they are coaxial with one another, thereby facilitating exchange of each element. In addition, the resonator can be arranged vertically while it is supported at both ends in the front of the main body.
