  • Patent number: 10809847
Abstract: A touch screen having touch circuitry integrated into a display pixel stackup. The touch screen can include a transistor layer, an LED layer and a first layer. The first layer can operate as an LED cathode during a display phase and as touch circuitry during a touch sensing phase. The transistor layer can be at least partially utilized for transitioning between the display phase and the touch sensing phase. • Patent number: 10761358
Abstract: Electrical shield line systems are provided for openings in common electrodes near data lines of display and touch screens. Some displays, including touch screens, can include multiple common electrodes (Vcom) that can have openings between individual Vcoms. Some display screens can have an open slit between two adjacent edges of Vcom. Openings in Vcom can allow an electric field to extend from a data line through the Vcom layer. A shield can be disposed over the Vcom opening to help reduce or eliminate an electric field from affecting a pixel material, such as liquid crystal. The shield can be connected to a potential such that electric field is generated substantially between the shield and the data line to reduce or eliminate electric fields reaching the liquid crystal.

  • Publication number: 20200272561
Abstract: A high-performance data storage device is disclosed. A non-volatile memory stores a logical-to-physical address mapping table that maps logical addresses recognized by a host to a physical space in the non-volatile memory. The logical-to-physical address mapping table is divided into a plurality of sub mapping tables. A memory controller utilizes temporary storage when controlling the non-volatile memory. The memory controller plans a sub mapping table area in the temporary storage to store sub mapping tables corresponding to a plurality of nodes which are linked and managed by multiple linked lists.

  • Publication number: 20200273928
Abstract: An organic light-emitting diode display may have thin-film transistor circuitry formed on a substrate. The display and substrate may have rounded corners. A pixel definition layer may be formed on the thin-film transistor circuitry. Openings in the pixel definition layer may be provided with emissive material overlapping respective anodes for organic light-emitting diodes. A cathode layer may cover the array of pixels. A ground power supply path may be used to distribute a ground voltage to the cathode layer. The ground power supply path may be formed from a metal layer that is shorted to the cathode layer using portions of a metal layer that forms anodes, may be formed from a mesh shaped metal pattern, may have L-shaped path segments, and may include laser-deposited metal on the cathode layer. Data lines may be formed from metal layers in the active area to accommodate the rounded corners of the display.

  • Publication number: 20200272574
Abstract: High performance data storage device is disclosed, which has a memory controller dynamically updating mapping information on the temporary storage to manage physical space information mapped to a logical address recognized by a host. The memory controller uses a first bit to an Nth bit of the physical space information to indicate a physical space of the non-volatile memory or a cache address of the data cache space, without using additional bits to map the physical space information to the non-volatile memory or the data cache space, where N is a number greater than one. Among numbers formed by the first to the Nth bit, the memory controller uses numbers corresponding to non-existent physical space of the non-volatile memory to map the physical space information to the non-volatile memory or the data cache space.

  • Patent number: 10755638
Abstract: A display has rows and columns of pixels (22). A data line (Dn) in each column provides image data signals to the pixels of that column. Each row has first and second control lines (select[m], monitor[m]) coupled to the gates of first and second respective transistors (SE, MO) in each pixel. A third transistor in each pixel serves as a drive transistor (DR) and is coupled in series with a light-emitting diode (30) between positive and ground power supply voltages (VDD, VSS). A display driver circuitry in the display characterizes each of the light-emitting diodes in a column using the data line in an adjacent column from that light-emitting diode. Each of the drive transistors in a column is characterized using the data line in that column and the data line in an adjacent column.

  • Publication number: 20200258454
Abstract: This application relates to methods and apparatus to refresh a display device at various frequencies. Specifically, multiple areas of the display device may be refreshed concurrently at different frequencies. In this way, when static content is being displayed in certain areas of the display device, those certain areas can be refreshed at a lower rate than areas displaying dynamic content such as video or animation. By refreshing at lower rates, the energy consumed by the display device and subsystems associated with the display device can be reduced. Additionally, processes for reducing flicker when refreshing the display device at different refresh rates are disclosed herein.

  • Publication number: 20200258950
Abstract: A display may have an array of pixels. Each pixel may have a light-emitting diode such as an organic light-emitting diode. The organic light-emitting diodes may each have an anode that is coupled to a thin-film transistor pixel circuit for controlling the anode. Transparent windows may be formed in the display. The windows may be formed by replacing data storage capacitors and other pixel circuit structures in a subset of the pixels with transparent window structures, by selectively removing portions of light-emitting diode anodes, and by shifting anodes. An array of electrical components such as an array of light sensors may be aligned with the transparent windows and may be used to measure light passing through the transparent windows.

  • Patent number: 10636356
Abstract: Electronic devices may include displays having organic light-emitting diode pixels, display driver circuitry, and gate driver circuitry. To reduce the amount of space occupied in the inactive area of a display by the gate driver circuitry, one or more of the shift registers in the gate driver circuitry may include register circuits that are shared by multiple rows of pixels. Different drivers may use different clock frequencies to ensure synchronous operation of the display even when some register circuits share pixel rows. For increased flexibility in the arrangement of the register circuits in the shift registers, one or more of the shift registers may be split across the active area of the display. In some cases, one of the emission drivers may be omitted from the gate driver circuitry and a single emission driver may provide multiple emission control signals for the pixels.
