  • Publication number: 20060284780
Abstract: A dual-band dipole antenna is provided with a first conductor arm, a second conductor arm, and a feeding signal line, wherein two conductor arms have different lengths. The feeding signal line has a signal end and a ground end, respectively connected to the feeding points on the two conductor arms. The feeding signal line transmits feeding signals to the two conductor arms through the feeding points, thereby generating two operating modes of the antenna. The desired frequency ratio of a second operating mode and a first operating mode for a dual-band wireless local network is achieved by simply changing the two conductors' relative lengths, so that the frequency ratio of a second operating mode and a first operating mode for the antenna is the same as the desired frequency ratio.

  • Patent number: 7145511
Abstract: An apparatus of antenna with heat slug and its fabricating process are provided, in which the antenna with heat slug can be realized with a single sheet or double sheets of metal. A dual-band antenna module with a mask cover is taken as an example to realize the apparatus. Each single sheet of metal can be achieved by simply cutting and bending a metal plate. Thereby, it is a simple and low-cost fabricating process. In the known fabricating process of integrated circuit, the heat slug and the antenna can be combined in a module at the same step. Therefore, integrating the antenna with heat slug in a fabricating process needs not to develop a new process.

  • Publication number: 20060170605
Abstract: The invention of planar dipole antenna comprises a dielectric substrate, two radiation conductors, and a transmission line. The two radiation conductors are formed on the dielectric substrate and separated by a predefined distance. Each radiation conductor includes first and second metal plates, and a meandered metal line. The meandered metal line has two ends and at least three bending points. One end of the meandered metal line is connected to the first metal plate, while the other end is connected to the second metal plate. This antenna increases the receiver's gain up to 6.8 dBi through the use of the current distribution of three equal-phase areas. This overcomes the drawback of conventional antenna with receiver's gain only about 2.2 dBi. This planar dipole antenna has a simple structure of single-sided circuitry, and is easily formed on the dielectric substrate by a standard printing or etching process.

  • Patent number: 6788257
Abstract: A dual-frequency planar antenna disclosed herein utilizes a main radiating device to produce a resonance mode and excites a parasitic radiating device to produce another resonance mode by the coupling of energy. These two modes can provide sufficiently broad bandwidths, and the present invention is simple in design, which makes it cost effective. Therefore, the planar antenna of the present invention is a competitive alternative for wireless communication applications.
