  • Patent number: 7271803
Abstract: A 3-D visual simulating system stores image data sets in a predetermined viewing space for right and left visual field and selects a portion of the stored image data corresponding to the current visual field for displaying it to an observer. The 3-D image stimulus changes according to the current visual field of the observer and the location of the observer in a predetermined visual space in a manner that undesirable perceptional effects are substantially eliminated. The image data sets are stored in a reduced space in an efficient manner for retrieval.

  • Patent number: 7268803
Abstract: In image processing method and apparatus of the present invention, an image distortion caused by an oblique image pickup is corrected. A plurality of images of an object on an object plane are input, the plurality of images including at least a pair of partially overlapping first and second images that are taken at two viewpoints, the first and second images sharing a common location on the object plane. A feature point of the first image corresponding to the common location and a matched point of the second image corresponding to the feature point of the first image are determined. A direction of the object plane is calculated based on the feature point and the matched point. A distortion-corrected image on a projection plane, which is parallel to the object plane, is generated by projecting one of the first and second images onto the projection plane based on the direction of the object plane through a perspective projection.

  • Publication number: 20070138900
Abstract: 2m sets (m being a natural number of 2 or more; and m=2 in embodiments) of teeth (31b to 34b) and 2m?1 slots (41, 42, 43) are disposed alternately in an axial direction; those of windings (36, 37, 38) accommodated in the slots (41, 42, 43), which are each accommodated in the slots (41, 42, 43) spaced apart by m from each other, are connected in line, so that exciting directions are opposite; and phases of magnetic fluxes passed through the teeth (31b to 34b) are displaced by 360°/2m from one another. Therefore, a thin and high-powered claw pole motor can be produced by disusing a portion of the winding which does not contribute to a torque (i.e., a crossover portion) and commonly using a magnetic path in each phase through return passes (31a to 34a). Moreover, a magnetic circuit of a wave winding motor is formed and hence, the output torque can be increased, as compared with a salient pole concentrated winding motor.

  • Publication number: 20070090720
Abstract: A claw-pole motor includes a rotor having permanent magnets; and a stator having stator rings assigned to three phases, which are coaxially stacked along the same axis. Winding attachment portions are formed between adjacent stator rings, and an annular winding is installed in each winding attachment portion for generating a magnetic field for rotating the rotor. Each stator ring has a main body and claw-shaped induction poles which protrude from the main body in radial directions. The claw-shaped induction poles of the three phases are serially arranged along a circumference of the stator rings and also face the permanent magnets. An interval between adjacent claw-shaped induction poles along the circumference of predetermined two of the stator rings of the three phases is smaller than an interval between adjacent claw-shaped induction poles along the circumference of any other pair of the stator rings.

  • Patent number: 7182464
Abstract: A project is often positioned so that its optical axis is at an imperfect orthogonal angle with respect to a projection screen. This position causes a keystone distortion as well as imperfect focus in the projected image. To correct these undesirable problems, initially, a lens and/or an image-forming plate is independently repositioned to bring the projected image into focus based upon user input data. The keystone distortion is also corrected by redrawing the image on an image-forming surface based upon additional user input data.

  • Patent number: 7145596
Abstract: The image input apparatus comprises the image pickup unit which optically scans a subject and successively acquires partial images of the subject. The relative change detection unit detects an amount of relative change in position or speed of the image pickup unit between a time when a previous partial image was taken and a time when a current partial image is being taken. The an overlapping amount calculating unit calculates an amount of overlap between the previous partial image and the current partial image based upon the amount of relative change in position or speed detected by the relative change detection unit. The image recording determination unit determines whether or not the current partial image is to be recorded based upon the amount of overlap calculated by the overlapping amount calculating unit.

  • Patent number: 7135802
Abstract: A claw pole motor stator includes teeth for N phases (N being a natural number of 3 or more), for example, U-phase, V-phase, and W-phase teeth juxtaposed in an axial direction, return paths for interconnecting the U-phase, V-phase, and W-phase teeth, and (N?1) annular slots formed between the U-phase, V-phase, and W-phase teeth. A U-phase coil and one V-phase coil are housed in one annular slot, and another V-phase coil and a W-phase coil are housed in the other annular slot. In this way, only N sets of teeth and N?1 annular slots are provided for N phases, and thus it is possible to minimize the thickness in the axial direction of the stator compared with a conventional stator which requires 2N sets of teeth and N annular slots for N phases.

  • Publication number: 20060168298
Abstract: A video data reproduction apparatus displays an animation on a display by receiving and reproducing video data through streaming data communication. A memory stores index image generated from the video data corresponding to a video display time. The index image represents a part of an image created by the video data. A video playing time changing device changes a current video display time to another. A control device chooses an index image from the memory corresponding to the other video play time, and displays the index image on the display.

  • Patent number: 7001024
Abstract: The present invention provides an image input apparatus into which a three-dimensional image as well as a two-dimensional image can be easily input. This image input apparatus includes an image pick-up unit, a projector unit, and a mover unit. The projector unit projects a predetermined projection light pattern onto an image object, and the image pick-up unit picks up the projection image containing distortions of the projection light pattern. The relative position between the projector unit and the image pick-up unit is fixed. The mover unit moves the image pick-up unit relatively with the projector unit, so that the image pick-up unit can pick up a plurality of projection images at different image pick-up locations.

  • Patent number: 6985638
Abstract: To compose an image from a plurality of partially overlapping images, both positional movement and perspective transformation are performed using pyramidal data structures. After the positional movement is determined for a unit block of one partially overlapping image to match a corresponding block, a set of perspective transformation parameters is determined based upon the positional movement. The partially overlapping images are composed into a single image while the partially overlapping images efficiently undergo the perspective transformation according to the above determined parameters.

  • Publication number: 20050189843
Abstract: In a motor stator, teeth radially project from an annular stator core, and a plurality of slots formed between adjacent teeth are skewed. Phase windings alternately pass through slots having different skew directions, wherein the length of bridging portions, which do not contribute to generation of torque, is short and the length of the portions which are located in the slots, and which contribute to the generation of torque, is long. Further, the phase windings are bent at an obtuse angle at opposite ends of the bridging portions.

  • Patent number: 6882365
Abstract: The use of the orientation-sensitive interpolation filter coefficients generates the RGB signal values that are substantially same as those with the prior art filter coefficients for image data without abrupt intensity gradients. At the same time, the use of the same orientation-sensitive interpolation filter coefficients also helps generate the RGB signal values that represent the substantially reduced colors on the black-and-white horizontal stripes.
