  • Publication number: 20050062940
Abstract: A project is often positioned so that its optical axis is at an imperfect orthogonal angle with respect to a projection screen. This position causes a keystone distortion as well as imperfect focus in the projected image. To correct these undesirable problems, initially, a lens and/or an image-forming plate is independently repositioned to bring the projected image into focus based upon user input data. The keystone distortion is also corrected by redrawing the image on an image-forming surface based upon additional user input data.

  • Publication number: 20050012427
Abstract: A claw pole motor stator includes teeth for N phases (N being a natural number of 3 or more), for example, U-phase, V-phase, and W-phase teeth juxtaposed in an axial direction, return paths for interconnecting the U-phase, V-phase, and W-phase teeth, and (N?1) annular slots formed between the U-phase, V-phase, and W-phase teeth. A U-phase coil and one V-phase coil are housed in one annular slot, and another V-phase coil and a W-phase coil are housed in the other annular slot. In this way, only N sets of teeth and N?1 annular slots are provided for N phases, and thus it is possible to minimize the thickness in the axial direction of the stator compared with a conventional stator which requires 2N sets of teeth and N annular slots for N phases.

  • Publication number: 20040218833
Abstract: A camera system includes a display monitor which displays an image of an object, taken by an optical unit, on a screen of the monitor. A reading unit reads a preceding image and a current image among a plurality of partially overlapping images, from a memory device, the preceding image and the current image containing a common element. A determining unit determines a positional relation between the preceding image and the current image based on a common pattern derived from the common element in the two adjacent images read by the reading unit. A displaying unit displays an image indicating a boundary of the preceding image on the screen of the monitor at a shifted position according to the positional relation determined by the determining unit, with the current image concurrently displayed on the screen of the monitor.

  • Publication number: 20040208380
Abstract: A system is disclosed for reproducing a moving image encoded into an encoded data stream in accordance with JPEG 2000 that includes a reproduction apparatus and a transmission apparatus. The reproduction apparatus transmits a reproduction condition being set by a setting unit provided therein, the reproduction condition set in accordance with the user's operation, to the transmission apparatus. The transmission apparatus transmits an encoded data stream reconfigured by a reconfiguration unit based on the reconfiguration method determined by a determination unit based on the reproduction condition. When determining the reconfiguration condition, the determination unit may take a traffic condition of a communication channel into consideration. According to the above embodiments, the system does not need to transmit an original encoded data stream via the communication channel but can transmit the reconfigured encoded data stream that contains only encoded data for satisfying a user's requirement.

  • Publication number: 20040130570
Abstract: Upon browsing an image stored in an image data source, coded data used for display of the image is acquired from the image data source. The acquired coded data used for the display is decoded/extended, and the image is displayed on a display unit. A user inputs a direction for saving the image displayed on the display unit via a user interface unit. Coded data for the saving of the image directed by the user is acquired from the image data source, such as by additionally acquiring coded data equivalent to a difference between the coded data for the saving and the coded data used for the display from the image data source, and synthesizing the coded data for the saving from the additionally acquired coded data and the coded data used for the display. The acquired coded data for the saving is saved in a storage unit.

  • Publication number: 20040032407
Abstract: A 3-D visual simulating system stores image data sets in a predetermined viewing space for right and left visual field and selects a portion of the stored image data corresponding to the current visual field for displaying it to an observer. The 3-D image stimulus changes according to the current visual field of the observer and the location of the observer in a predetermined visual space in a manner that undesirable perceptional effects are substantially eliminated. The image data sets are stored in a reduced space in an efficient manner for retrieval.

  • Patent number: 6628427
Abstract: An image processing method includes inputting pixels into an input image data buffer. Each input pixel has an original value equal to one of n values representing n density levels. A first transforming step includes a defining step and a determining step. The defining step defines a pixel set including a plurality of non-processed pixels located adjacent to each other in a processed-pixel recording buffer. The determining step determines output pixel values from m values. Each of the output pixel values determined by the determining step is assigned to each non-processed pixel. A second transforming step transforms each of the input pixels to a transformed pixel which has an output pixel value equal to one of m values representing m density levels according to an error diffusion method. A selecting step selects one of resultant values produced by the first and second transforming steps in accordance with an original value of an input pixel currently being processed.
